Assuming this is accurate, I'd say this is the best land since fetchlands. Hell, it might very well be better than those.
NO @$%^ing way can this be better than fetchlands. Personally it is better than the ravnica duals but that is about it. Sadly this is the only tri land that they will have in the set. I was hoping for a five land cycle. The island version would be OP
lol I so want to be one of those little kids you trade Jace to. Why do you think his purpose is in a mill deck? I doubt anyone will play him for that purpose. He is the card advantage 'walker. That is his purpose.
How can you dislike Jace? I am also a blue player and consider him amazing. Yes he may only have 2 types of abilities - draw and mill - and yes IMO his mill ability is trash and his +2 ability, even though it speeds his loyalty up, is totally counterproductive, but card advantage is card advantage. He is the only one that returns his card loss, from playing him, right away and the fastest, as he is the cheapest CC 'walker.
And what's wrong with mass burn? That is what red is all about.
Disappointed? More like ecstatic! Ok Jace isn't THAT great as I am making him sound but he is still great. IMO the best 'walker.
So you say, yet we all know you'll end up playing the new "bad" duals if you intend to build a competitive 2+ color deck... Oh well, everyone has a right to *****, I guess...
I would not run them at all. I am not only thinking of T2, but also Vintage playability and constructed power. Thoughtseize is a great card and it might as well become the most expensive card in the set, but I do not believe in its rarity rating. It is Uncommon at most. And also, Duress will be replaced with this card automatically. So that might contribute to its price rising.
The new "duals", which they are not as they don't count as either land type, suck ass. How can they be rares? As for the new duress...NOW THAT IS THE SHIZZ I AM TALKING ABOUT!!! But rare? I was thinking no more than uncommon. Oh well. At least no Wizzardrix rares when you rip open a pack. Unless u pull a land rare then that is even worse.
lol both cards are not playable. First off they are both ultra high CC. Second their abilities are not that great. For Primal Command the only ability that is useful is the Worldly Tutor one, and then again we have the card already so it makes this command = crap. As for the big guy, for his abilities he is 2 fat. Who cares if he gains shroud? It's 7 mana. there are A LOT of better things for that much. Unplayable in limited or constructed.
I though of him as a disappointment, but rated him a piece of *bleep*.
Honestly, this guy doesn't give any card advantage whatsoever. So you get a X/X token. Big whoptid (Spelling). You have to wait 2 turns for it to be RFG-ed or killed. Take Jace for instance (my little piece of bias :X). From the moment he enters play you already recover what you have lost. And in the next 2 turns he gets you 2 more cards, unless you want him to live in which case he still gets you a card but you give 1 to your opponent, which is a waste if you ask me, and gives you further card advantage. There was a thread to illustrate this so I will not enter into describing it again.
Overall this oversized kitten didn't help white out even a little.
Well there isn't anything new here really. We already knew about the 'walkers that were left. Hydro gave us the 411. As for the treefolk dude, he is big, he is fat, and one hell of an ugly dude lol. I like the strategy with Saffi that they showed on WotC homepage. Who wouldn't wanna have a 7/7 for 3G? And then you can momentary blink it for his hurricane the third time. I doubt anyone will hardcast him as, for his casting cost he sux. His evoke cost is cheap, or fairly cheap, proportionally to his CC so I'd say Saffi will always accompany him no matter where he goes.
And it is 6 mana (2GGGG) unless you mean his ecoke (2GG). Either way you added 1 more or subtracted 1 less mana from his cost. And don't forget that he is quad color. His only purpose would be to be evoked. Well that is my HO.
lawl some of the negative comments ppl are making about Jace are so..I don't know..pointless to say for lack of a better description. Jace already gives me a card advantage upon entering play, as illustrated by BlueNu, and if you burn him (be my guest) I get a +1 card advantage as you just wasted a card on a walker I would probably kill myself anyway (-1 ability three times). ppl, there is no single argument anyone can say that he is bad, or is even comparable to a draw spell as, If I so choose to, he can live longer and draw me more cards in the long-run than any draw spell.
Whoever would play his +2? -1 is the only one without a drawback. If something gives advantage to an opponent then it is counter productive. Just use it three times and let Jace RIP. Well there is also the alternative of rotating btwn twice -1 and once +2 but that only keeps him alive and gives your opponent a card.
lawl how can you call the best card advantage 'walker a disappointment? He is like the best walker. Who wouldn't wanna draw 3 cards in 2 turns? Maybe his last ability is not as good as we had hoped but who cares? Use his middle ability 3 times. That's the shizz I am talking about!
