You do know this is a riff on Icatian Javelineers and Kjeldoran Javelineer right? At base its Ithican but it can grow like Kjeldoran if you manipulate the amount of +1 counters
This seems unbelievably absurd in Limited. Beyond that I don't see it, any +1/+1 counters deck is just going to use cards that come with them built in rather than this.
There are a few times in commander I've wished for a card like this since easy cheap early +1 is not readily available but W/G+tap was doable enough when games get durdly. Otherwise unsure if its playable elsewhere since it is pretty darn slow for other formats.
Honestly this card is more Tezzeret and Esper than Affinity. Thoughtcast only got played occasionally as a two off in regular Affinity, and this needs more resources on the field to be actually cheap.
I dont normally say this but that card is one of the money rares in the set hands down. Whether the card lives up to the real world applications it was designed for we will see but at least its VERY playable.
So theoretically the modular land is a storage device if all your modular creatures get wrathed. But the only way to get the counters off it is to sac or destroy the land which it doesn't have natively as a ability. It cannot in itself help cast Shrapnel Blasts color requirement nor Vandalblast nor Naturalize. It enters the battlefield tapped, which is slow, but in the right artifact deck its multicolor without much drawback. This is a very weird tempo card for the decks that want it and the decks that desire it. Add to the fact that you really don't want to play a set of this with the other new artifact lands because of tempo loss to a extreme amount....
...I dont know what to feel here. The Ozolith works with this as well since its ability is the duplication of said counters but is not a tempo loss. Is the new land worth the tempo loss? Dunno.
Wow Priest of Titaniavibes here. How actually good it is remains to be seen. But at least we know when they go enchantment matters they go hard for playability.
I think the flying is what really makes this. A 1cc 3/3 flyer in red is basically unheard of. The fact you only need a few cards in the yard is pretty gravy
7ED is the only other foil printing of Greed, no? I feel like those will hold up pretty well.
I'm kinda surprised to see this at uncommon, if I'm being honest.
Its not really played that much in modern or outside commander. Heck Arguel's Blood Fast which comes out earlier but uses 2CMC is barely played and drops at a more relevant time. True the activation cost is worse than Greed but usually you want cards sooner than turn five.
wait wut? I thought we would never get this considering the length they went to make Urza's Factory unplayable.
A card that makes herself a creature is very different from another one that makes a token of said creature every turn.
Yes your right but let me give a bit of a history lesson.
Back when Timespiral originally was being spoiled I believe one of the spoilers MaRo said there was going to be a card typed with Assembly-Worker in the set and since at that time they had also stated that there would be cards in the set from the past. We all assumed that we were going to get Mishras Factory since no other card in the then history of magic had said typing.
What we got was the base Assembly-Worker and Urza's Factory which if you realize uses all the tron lands to create said token. So tower, mine, powerplant, and factory gains you the ability to create one very underwhelming token, even in that time period. I felt at the time very trolled and the writing was on the wall that they would not ever reprint Mishra's factory. So imagine my surprise today that in modern we WILL be finally able to play the good factory.
