How does this deck usually do vs a heavy U/W/x control meta? Was thinking about dumping my vials+other random stuff to grab some breaches. Currently playing grixis goryos/as foretold/living end but this looks more fun.
There's really no standard lists when it comes to numbers of key cards, other than, I suppose, 4 whirs. I would practice a few different builds proxied or on xmage to see what feels right for you. That said, opal is key for our strategy, and drawing multiples isn't terrible. I would sat 3 is a happy medium.
Thanks. Thats what I was thinking. around 3. Been messing with the deck on xmage a lot, hoping to proxy it and start getting some testing in there too.
Working on building this currently, and after looking at a bunch of lists, is 2 or 4 Opals standard? Was thinking about trying to grab a few before they go even higher and price and was looking for a bit of input.
recently built mardu pyro(standard list thats going around) at the SCg this past weekend and am loving it so far after some testing/a local tournament last night. After talking to some local guys with just some brainstorming, would 1 or 2 monastery mentors be a possible add?(i just really like the card) or would the 4 mana just be too much to get any kind of value.
have to ask for help with this one: I run what I would guess is a fairly standard knightfall list, and a guy at my lgs runs a wierd ramp deck(mainly green, splashes U,W,B for 1 or 2 cards per color/sideboard). For ex. tonight he had a turn3 garruk primal hunter, turn 4 or 5 elesh norn. He gets stuff like this fairly consistently. He also just plays giant guys including a hornet queen, terastodon, hoof. I know this isnt a lot of info and he's playing some jank. But its almost a guaranteed loss vs him and looking for insight.
Thanks for the input, ill have to grab a worship. For another question, how screwed is the deck vs skred/GR ponza? My local meta is fairly diverse, but i guess with there being at most 3 blood moon decks i shouldnt worry too much
Just built this deck this past weekend at GP cleveland, although im running elvish mystics instead of hierarchs atm.(was thinking about running arbor elf instead just to help with w/u mana till I can grab the nobles) Played in a tourney tonight and won, but looking for a bit of help with board. currently running 2 negate, 3 leyline, 2 Ref mage, 2 RIP, 2 Stony silence, 1 finks, 1 blessed alliance, 1 courser, and cant remember the last card atm. Local meta has a lot of burn , fish, and tron. Looking for some input if possible.
also, i guess I should say im running a non druid combo version
I guess to convince me that the deck isnt totally bad bad lol. Like, I know it can win, and it isnt a top tier deck, but from testing it seems like it has some really, really rough matchups vs popular decks, mainly tron and dredge.
Hi, been reading this thread for a bit and trying out a esper faeries list on xmage(white for sorin, blessed alliance, path, and sideboard supreme verdict). I really enjoy this style of deck but it definitely seems to struggle vs some things. Planning on dumping some stuff at GP Cleveland to either build this or merfolk but having a bit of trouble deciding.
Figured I would ask this here, but I have been thinking about selling my lantern control deck to build 8rack and just wondering if anyone can weigh on what might be able to give me a rundown on which they may think is better. I figure it may be a bit skewed asking in here, but I tend to like the weird control decks, and 8rack seems to win quicker and its obviously not as tedious. I already have the discard package, and the lilys can transfer over to way more stuff,+used in legacy. Pretty much just looking for a bit of input
