I've been testing a somehow different take on the RG Energy Aggro. I've decided to go full haste mode. Well not really full since there aren't enough good haste creature, but generally I've added some good ones. It's now mostly a haste + evasion + trample deck. Here's the list:
this list i like, i think i'll take this out for this week's FNM or next week depending on my schedule. hasty creatures, tramples, stealing creatures, this deck is so disgusting it makes me so happy.
I fail to see what white would bring. There is no energy payout cards nor good energy generating cards in white and the cards you talked about don't bring anything for the bad matchups, namely G/B Delirium and Jeskai Control. Maybe selfless spirit but that's about it.
Gideon, Ally of Zendikar and Archangel Avacyn are the big pulls. Kinda' hard to cast. Which makes me not really want to try skewing a mana base just to play a 4 and 5 drop.
after a whole day of card searches, mana fixing and goldfishing, white is not as good as a support for us as compared to blue. screwing the mana base is not worth it if we're just gonna cast gideon or avacyn. i'm just sticking to my original color, which is temur, so no-go on the naya energy.
I am running one and event want to try to go up to two but i don't know if it is viable.
I think it is good in all lists but when i started trying out whirler virtuoso i realized how this potentially gives is a huge alternative wincondition.
Since then even with only 1 westvale abbey i have been able to make some thopters on the opponents end step to get to the 5 creatures and just make ormendahl for the win on my turn.
The virtuoso is alredy decent without westvale abbey but i think if you are going to run it westvale abbey deserves at least 1 slot in your deck.
too slow. sacking 5 creatures for Ormendhal, Profane Prince is not worth it with blessed alliances running around. those 5 thopters, along with other non-token creatures would put a considerable amount of pressure on the opponent and would be forced to look for a sweep. ormendhahl, once he is gone can easily turn the tide in favor of the opponent.
i'm just spitballing here but can Naya energy midrange be a thing for us?
Yes. Wedge mana is below average so you have to be careful in regards to how you build your manabase -- not just colored sources but CIPT lands and the contingencies therein.
i'm still pondering if we can have a working and optimal naya energy deck. if we go aggro, in an aggro deck we have Selfless Spirit for the sweep but that two drop is going to take the early turns when we can cast servant, cub, brawler, hellion or an early hydra, or thraben inspector but that's going to take away attune with aether in the first turn and that two energy is crucial when we want to pump an early cub or fuel aether hubs and harnessed lightnings. the only good thing is that we have access to Built to Last for R/G/x Pummler. if we go the midrange route, we have thalia, selfless spirit, authority of the consul for the mirror and vehicles and blessed alliance for extra removal against midrange decks. to make a good midrange deck the good cards like avacyn, gisela and bruna not only require double white mana but are expensive to cast.
it's not like temur energy since we have good support in blue with negate, dispel, aether meltdown, fevered visions and the occasional empyreal voyager.
this is just my take and still testing the waters on the theory of a naya energy build. if the other people can pool in their ideas, all the pros and the cons in terms of mana base and spells, then we can see if naya energy can be a thing.
won 4-0 last FNM with a R/G Pummeler deck. though i went with the usual R/G Pummeler, i ran a 61-deck list. my 61st card was Thalia, Heretic Cathar . i was not supposed to be taking the 61st card seriously because it didn't matter to me if i casted her or not or if i drew her or not, mainly Thalia was only there for giggles and shock value to spectators. when i was against a R/G Pummeler in a mirror match in the 4th round and drew her in my 3rd turn of the 3rd game (i got the 1st game and my opponent got the second). i had a forest, a mountain and an aether hub with a servant of the conduit in play, and 5 energy. i had 2 blossoming defense and 1 built to smash in my hand. casted thalia and locked the game since he's delayed because in the succeeding turns he had aether hubs as his 3rd and 4th land respectively. won the game by flooding the board with zada, 2 voltaic brawlers and a servant. pumped them all with zada.

Ive been playing this deck since game day and absolutely love it. Though i have a problem with uw flash. My board is set up for mostely control and vehicle decks. What would you suggest as a board going to the scg classic this weekend. I'll be playing the pummeler version
do you have a list? so that i know what to suggest

since we have no access to red, we don't have access to one of the best pump spells in standard which is Built to Smash. so we have to settle for Larger than Life and Blossoming Defense as our main pump spells. Pump is essential because it nets Voyager that crazy amount of energy gain. if voyager gets pumped you can have a minimum of 4 energy every time he punches an opponent on the face. another card i'm considering is Swell of Growth. it has a great synergy with Voyager and Architect of the Untamed.
example situation:
if you have both voyager and architect on the battlefield and, two evolving wilds and a swell of growth in your hand, land drop evolving wilds. swing with voyager and pump it using swell. drop the second evolving wilds. crack both evolving wilds. that would be a total of 8 energy gained this turn which is enough to put the 6/6 artifact beast token during an opponents turn.
also slip through space is not just for empyreal voyager but also for tusk and pummeler. after playtesting, two energy a swing from empyreal voyager is slow but voyager is not our sole energy producer. almost every spell in the deck produces energy. it only takes 15 energy to pump pummeler to 32/32 without any pump spells and reaching that amount has been consistent during my playtests.
the list is what /droptimal posted a few hours ago. actually was testing the same list before he/she actually posted it. there's only one difference (hydra/gearhulk)
i've just been playing without SB since i really don't have a good one lined up. keep changing it around. but i keep getting paired up with really weird decks but the non-weird ones are GW humans, lots of UW control, aetherworks with all the ETB artificats, some dredge, gearhulk decks for days. i just can't seem to get what i need to win. it's the same feeling i'm getting with my modern list. i don't know if it's mtgo's fault but i really wanted to play fnm this week and all these losses i've been getting on mtgo is really disheartening. even post board, when i do side, just don't seem to go my way (mainly cause i have no idea what to really sb in and out).
i've been toying with the idea of going with blue, like you, /kehbehboi. i just can't seem to get RG to work for me.
that's weird i am having the time of my life playing R/G and the only deck i consistently lose to are hyper-aggro decks and combo decks (i'm looking at you R/W equipments and Aether Storm).
the last time i toyed with R/G, i was using a pummeler/stompy variant. it's a strong deck as long as you play smart, and not like an infect player or straight up punching people on the face without maximizing the value of the creatures. then i realized that pummeler is very weak to control especially when pummeler gets sac'ed or straight up removed, so i added a blue splash for that extra protection for removals and that Temur colors are my main colors since i started playing MTG with a Temur deck (turn two Savage Knuckleblade all the way hahaha).
after a few playtests i realized there are no good counters in blue to support green since Stubborn Denial rotated out so we're stuck with Negate and Dispel as our prime counters and Blossoming Defense as support for protecting our creatures. so i just decided to concentrate on being more stompy and concentrate on gaining more energy to win games.
i'm having a very hard time with this deck on mtgo. just can't seem to get any wins with it. i know that there are a lot of odd decks out there but i just can't seem to get there. running a list very similiar to /u/droptimal.
how do you deal with W/x vehicles decks? how are your matches against them?
pre-board? not so much. i have to stall through mid-late late game with a beefy hydras and cubs (at least one of them has to be a two of in the battlefield) and hold my counters and removals for vehicles and potential threats like depala or steal them with coup. playing smart and defensively is the key.
post-board? pretty much a steal, board in galvanic, appetites and clip wings to pretty much destroy everything they have on the board.
Despite advises from my friends against Empyreal Voyager, that smug look on his face has won games because opponents don't feel he's a threat until it's too late, when he has already provided an insane amount of energy reservoir for cub, brawler, hydra, lathnu, harnessed and coup, especially when he's pumped up defense and arlinn kord. plus he's a flier, which means he can block fliers, and a trampler which makes chump blocking against him useless.
The same is said about Confiscation Coup. Despite the double blue requirement, that card alone has also won me games by stealing Avacyn, Brisela, Thing in the Ice, Kalitas and other gearhulks.
overall, i like where the deck is going but i feel something needs to be changed. Any suggestions?

you can go with this for the SB
4 Lathnu Hellion
2 Appetite For the Unnatural
2 Clip Wings or Plummet
1 Natural State
2 Arlinn Kord
or with this if you want a splash blue deck for that added protection
3 Lathnu Hellion
2 Appetite For the Unnatural
1 Island
2 Negate
1 Dispel
2 Clip Wings
Here are some cards for consideration

thanks for the inputs.
how about Empyreal Voyager? energy plus evader, trampler and blocker. i am planning to add this to the deck but i'm still having second thoughts.
