I'm looking to run it because despite red and green having good options at 5, I don't like the Gruul guild section being "the 4-drop guild". Other than Dragonlord Atarka and Tattermunge Maniac (which wasn't in the cube for a time), basically all of the cards that I'd consider for the guild are all 4-drops:Quote from wtwlf123 »Now this ...is a thing that will feel good to kill with a cheap removal spell.
Looks fun, but at the end of the day it's just a big stat monster in a guild (shard) that has great mono-colred options at 5, and doesn't survive my own Wildfire effects. As cool as this is, I just don't think it's needed.

I've been running Ulrich of the Krallenhorde to promote cmc diversity, and this seems like it's likely better. - Bloodbraid Elf

Holy key words bat man.
Likely test this for awsomeness value alone. Unlikely to stick..
Big reason I think it won't last being the lack of evasion on a 5 drop that can die to a removal spell without much value.
Not lacking in the 5 CMC creature hard hitting department in Green or red.
It's probably the best global haste effect around tho... very relevant for a card like eureka.

I don't think I'd play this in traditional cubes tho.
Without the grave crawler + sac outlet synergies he's only decent, in a competitive slot.

TheTennesseeFireman posted a message on [AKH][CUBE] Nissa, Steward of ElementsI really wish I could visualize the average play pattern with this, but there are so many different ways to go here. Playing it for x=1, do you alternate scrys and the zero ability? Or do you just blind zero and hope to turn her into a ramp engine? Do you scry trying to set up a hit off your zero or do you actually bottom stuff? How often are loyalty counters worth the mana? Can the deck that plays this really take advantage of the ultimate? At what point (if any) does blind zero become the correct strategy? Most importantly, does all this nonsense add up to a good card, since it only peripherally protects itself?Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
There are so many different moving parts to this card that I think we really need play experience before we can make any judgements. I'm encouraged, though. -

TheGroglord posted a message on [CUBE][AKH] Pull from TomorrowI might try it, I'm always in the market for more instant speed draw and I have wanted a mono blue draw X but the cards I have tried in the past didn't cut it. Discard, whilst a definite downside, has its uses as well so it doesn't take too much away from the card for me.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
I have enjoyed Everflowing Chalice for being scalable and I imagine this will do similar and help fill out curves. -

Metamind posted a message on [AKH][CUBE] Allied Cycling Dual LandsIn my cube, the best of this cycle will probably be the Gruul land. As I'm not supporting green aggro, R/G decks are mostly green ramp decks splashing red. Normally not producing green mana on turn one is bad with mana elves, but R/G decks are usually heavy on green and light on red requirements (in a large part due to green's fixing), so you are likely to have other green sources. The land is fetchable with Nature's Lore and Three Visits and that is a major selling point. Green has the most basic land synergies in my cube, with Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary and Nissa, Worldwaker, and Goyf likes lands in the 'yard. R/G also struggles with card flow, so the cycling is very relevant.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion -

Demons get a bad rap. What if hell is dope as **** and we're just getting the opinions of people who weren't allowed in? What if heaven is actually the *****ty place and god is the ******** and the real faith-based test is not believing what the bible says and worshipping our true lord and savior Satan, who provides us with sweet demons who do cool stuff? WE DON'T KNOW!!! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I'll likely be adding 8 cards from this list.
I also think Aurelia could have gone the extra mile with haste and lifelink, so I'll probably edit it for my cube.

It's really your option of the following:
2 Mana:
Hornet Sting
Mogg Fanatic w/ ability to grow
4 Mana:
Shock
2/2 that deals a min of 2 in it's lifespan with okay growth (as you already have the lands for it)
6 Mana:
Lightning Bolt?
3/3 that deals a min of 3 in it's lifespan with decent growth (as you already have the lands for it and more)
It's all these possibilities in your hand, and makes boardstalls excellent. It seems best suited in reactive decks like control, as it's instant speed growth. A must try imo.
