Well, I'll admit that they are thought of as stupid, but in terms of actual intelligence I would say dogs are probably smarter. They show more tool-using proclivities in terms of having object fetishes, are more socially responsive and interacting, and understand hierarchy and social order better. And keep in mind that almost every intelligent animal has been shown to also be social.

On a practical level, I don't see any difference of intelligence either. Cats are aloof and neat, though, which in humans is typically a sign of intelligence. But that's as much as I can see as making the case for cats. The smartest dogs are doubtlessly multiple times smarter than the smartest cat (how does recognizing over a hundred individual commands sound?). In a tight spot both cats and dogs tend to react similarly, though dogs show the intelligence to rely on others for help (cats have no benefit to their independence as they are no better at untangling themselves on their own). Both dogs and cats play (a sign of intelligence) and both have about the same amount of raw animal savvy.

If anything, the data are in favor of dogs.

Cats and dogs are smart in different ways. But really, dogs are smart in all the ways that matter. Cats are boring. They don't do anything sleep, walk around, and occasionally climb on unstable objects, play with candles and end up burning houses down, and claw at things. Dogs are more obedient, know what to do and what not to do, and such. Basically, I agree 100%.

Dogs emulate their owners, who are usually as or more stupid than they are. Cats quietly affirm their undeniable superiority by not associating with lesser animals. :p

    Wait a second..... Slant

I have a yellow lab. Not laboratory, labrador :D.

    See you next year!

Hello Izzet! I see we won clan of the year! Hurray!

    It's almost Christmas!

I'm off to go readjust the electricity level on my lab goblin. I hope he doesn't spontaneously combust! Unless I get to see it....

    * Bakes a fresh batch of Goblin Cookies and places them on a table net to a glass of Crag Puca Milk with a sign that reads "For: Santa Niv-Mizzet! Bring me lots of Trinkets!" :cookie::cookie::cookie:

Remember to ask the Great Dragon not to torch you. And you better hope he doesn't have dairy allergies.

I got Jace vs. Chandra. The new Counterspell has possibly the most awesome art on any mono blue card, and they picked the card that best represents blue. However, the planeswalker art was dissapointing. It looked a bit cartoony, while the old art was amazingly realistic and awesome:monocle:.

I should have bought From the Vault Dragons. My local store only has one copy left, and it was selling for something like 70 dollars.:o

    Rain of Torches
    Suspend 1-3R
At the beginning of your untap step, you may put a time counter on Rain of Torches.
Rain of Torches deals 3 damage to each monocolored creature.
Ironically, one of the most effective Izzet pyromancy spells does not create fire.

You'd better, or it's off to the Weird factory for you. Evil Lol

Those rumors about what weirds REALLY are were true? OMG

I'm gonna go check out the clan contest results.

Has anyone ever thought that an animated "smiley face bursting into flames" should be created? Because that would be awesome.

Gah. I haven't posted for months....

Haven't played Magic for a while. I've been wanting to go to a draft for weeks, but haven't been able to fit it in.

Hope I can post more often....

I just saw that Wizards is releasing a "Chandra vs. Jace" set and I'm very excited. Its red and blue, has planeswalkers and looks good. Of course it might end up not so good. It seems like Wizards is doing a much better job of connecting all of the sets and making you feel more like a planeswalker. Much more background.

So, the clan contest is over and the next one is Mafia?

Still can't wait for a RU walker. Will it be Jace or Chandra? Or another mysterious new planeswalker? Or will Sarkhan Vol meet Niv-Mizzet and turn into the awesome red-blue planeswalker we've been waiting for?

    Happy Niv-Mizzet day!

Sorry for not posting in so long- again. I haven't played Magic in a long time and haven't really remembered this forum much, but I just got a Shards of ALara Fat Pack and here are my thoughts so far:

-Ajani seems wimpy, but Tezzeret is very scary.
-drop in the price of deathtouch (it seems).

I plan to go to some drafts in a week or two. So how's the clan contest doing? I'll go check for myself.

Sorry for not posting much. I've been very busy. I haven't played magic in around 2 months :o. It seems like the new set isn't as bad as I thought. Maybe I should start going to drafts again.

So, what's you guys opinions on the new set and planeswalkers?

Also, a Druid Shaman? Seriously? Confused

Yeah, I've pretty much given up on this set. Between the Mythic Rares, the three-color theme (I don't like three-color ), and some of these cards, it's turning out like yu-gi-oh. Let's hope it doesn't continue.

Aren't Druids and Shamans kinda the same thing in the Magic world, anyways? Slant

Argh. Stupid basic lands. I go onto the site and I say "Oh, shoot! Twenty new preview cards?".

My vote is for "[The Izzet]- Blue for troll, red for flame"
