Thank God it is believed to be fake, if WOTC were to want a -1/-1 counter themed planeswalker, they could have created a new Amonkhet native walker. These retcons are getting ridiculous and its not as though the native walkers ever get expanded upon. Just kind of ridiculous imho.
Hey does anyone know why Djeru's Resolve is preselling for $37.75 on MTGgoldfish? Was going through the spoilers and I thought that was very odd for limited common chaff.
I feel as though embalm will end up similar to monarch, where it is an interesting mechanic with interesting interactions, but it will be abandoned before it really gets it's chance to shine.
Upon reading, I was at first very impressed by Gideon's struggle between two sides, and reluctance to get involved. The story was dynamic, and I was reading intently. Then the time broke, and Gideon went to see Chandra. The dialogue killed the mood, and Chandra sounded like a 13 year old girl who is throwing a tantrum. It seems they are trying to hard to make her have one identity and follow a single focus, without any will to go beyond that. I also felt their conversation started out incredibly forced, but as it continued on, I could feel the dialogue get more natural, much more like friends who are in a situation that they see differently on. I feel like the writers are trying to set the two up for a romance, but I don't know how I feel about that.
Liliana was portrayed fantastically. The only thing I dislike was how naive she sounds for a hundred something year old necromancer who has been to more worlds and seen more atrocities then can be committed to memory. It was nice to see a development made on the search for Tezzeret, with information about where he has been hiding and roughly what he has been up to. It feels as though the next issue will involve more pointless fighting, but also hopefully some development on the chase for everyone's favorite blue aligned artificer.
It is obvious this card is going to be good, but I am willing to suspect it could be around a $20 card even a year out of rotation. It serves as a cheap attacker that can in turn be a strong defender. It can be easily activated, whether with a planeswalker or creature. It has evasion, and impressive stats for it's cost. I thing this is a sure investment, and I think it will maintain value among the FNM players, EDH players, and even kitchen magic players. With this being said, I advise all of you to pick these up while cheap, because otherwise you will be missing out on a busted mythic.
I voted Golgari because I find it to be better EDH colors, and I try to run most of my decks with at least one of these two. The consistency you get from playing a graveyard or sacrifice based Golgari deck smashes any of my friends token or counter themed Selesnya decks.
