I really like this. Anything that allows people to use E in additional ways to keep it from being such a limited use mechanic is terrific! I think it is well-costed as well and it reminds me of Cloud of Faeries in that it can be strung together if you have it in multiples. My one thought would be that, since Wierds are usually red and/or blue creatures, maybe an in-text coloring akin to the Pact cycle from Future Sight would make sense here?

On to my wish list card for my current EDH deck commanded by Ishkanah, Grafwidow. Here is my attempt at a "lord" for the eight-legged freaks:

    Feverish Arachnologist B

    Creature -- Human Wizard (R)

Spider creatures you control have deathtouch and infect.

When Feverish Arachnologist dies, create a 1/2 green Spider creature token with reach.

This seems heavily costed for an effect that is doubly random. I would suggest making the exiled cards face-up since the exile zone is usually public knowledge and since most people use sleeves anyway they will not be completely random as the backs will be different. Even then I might drop the cost to 2UBR. I like the idea and also how you have the players shuffle before as a part of the spells effect, stopping shenanigans and making it true to the chaotic nature! It reminds me of knowledge Pool.

    Aethercast 1U
    Sorcery (U)

Until end of turn, each energy counter you have may be used to produce 1.

The conversion was a simple matter really; it took more time on the chalkboard than it does in practice. -- Vedalken research notes

Firstly, magac, my design is completely playable and can drop turn three without ramp. Additionally, it is far from being busted; Leatherback Baloth was a 4/5 for three mana that saw little constructed play. Power creep has made many more things playable and Tarmogoyf still blows my design out of the water.

As for your card, I like the damned-if-you do or don't nature and it seems well costed.

    Opinionated Naysayer (UU)

    Creature -- Human Wizard

    Tap: detain target creature.

Flavorful design. I think the cost and the ability are reasonable and useful! I have always liked the flinging orcs and goblins Smile

    Surly Baloth (1GG)
    Creature -- beast (R)

You can't cast Surly Gnarlid after your third turn of the game.

    Trample

    5/5

Honestly, I like this a lot! It is similar to Killing Wave, but different in that the downside to keeping larger creatures grows with how big they are. It seems well costed at six mana and the colors fit the damage/sacrificing.

    Steadfast Squire (W)
    Creature - Human Knight (uncommon)
    1/1

Veteran (This creature enters the battlefield with a number of +1+1 counters on it equal to the number of games played before this one in the current match.)

    Flatline, StonerOfKruphix

    Brain Burgle (3U)
    Sorcery (U)

Syphon (You may tap lands target opponent controls and/or use mana in his or her mana pool to pay the casting cost for this spell.)

    Target player draws two cards.

The entire ultimate has to go off at once and can't be broken up. Once you find out what creature it is it is too late to exile it. You'd have to announce your response in response to the planes walker activation and then, yes, your opponent can now decide their search choice.
