  • posted a message on Future Akroma cards
While I saw how powerful Akroma was after I finished reading her rules text, the new red akroma in comparison was horrible. It needed either first strike OR haste to be somewhat as good as the original, and the morph ability really doesn't pick up the slack. If a new akroma were to be printed I hope that it is in black, and at least has haste, then at least it would be fun to put in a reanimator deck or something.

Having read te Lorwyn book myself I noticed the elves turning into the domination race in the land. And through enslavement and subjugation they had control over the other races. Maybe this could be a sign of green turniing bad but it also might be because the Lorwyn elves have a black side to their tribe.

    Quote from Bogardan Mage
He could of course be from Mirrodin despite his lack of metal bits. I sincerely doubt that Chandra was born with flaming hair, it has long been established that planeswalkers can change their appearance.

Actually I read on the mtg site that these new planeswalkers are not near omnipotent and dont have the whole shapeshifting/immortality ability. Since this new starin was supposed to be more mortal, which is why they can be taken down by creatures.

This interaction with changeling is amazing now that I realize how it works with Haakon. I can just imagine the massive amount of inversions/crib swap hitting the board at the player discretion.:evillol:

Another possiblity that wizards can come up with is bringing out multi colored planeswalker's, since the concept that mages can cotrol differesnt types of mana has been repeated throughout sets I think that this couls be a strong possibility.

:)Hi, I'm a little new to commenting on this particular article series, I thought the podcast was fairly well done. Making something like this with just the two of you must have taken some hard work, I hope you can keep up the good work. I'll take a shot at your question after seeing the awesomeness that is fruitcake elemental.

My favorite card has got to be sudden spoiling, it single handedly has saved me from massive sliver damage more times than I can count. The look on my opponent's face when I drop this card is absolutely priceless, as he has no way to respond. It doesn't target either, so troll ascetic and crystalline sliver both bite the dust when it hits. The turning of the creatures into 0/2's has to be the second best thing about it, even humility did nothing to stop 1/1 saprolings. But the overall coolest part of this card is the split second mechanic, no longer do I have to worry about my opponent running counters and having a 5-7 card hand:cool:.

My best story with this cards has to be when, I was running U/B in my Dimir deck when ravnica was in. My opponent was using a legacy dragon deck and had dragon arch out. So each end of my turn, he would put out another dragon. He didn't attack though for fear of my assassin picking off his forces. I had my trusty royal assassin, dimir cutpurse, dimir guildmage, and scalpelexis out on the field and sudden spoiling in my hand. when he had 5 6/6 flying dragons out he launched his attack. Now I was at 12 life at the time, so he thought I would be dead...until I dropped the spoiling during my declare blockers. So the new situation was I had 5 0/2's with no abilities attacking me....needless to say they all perished except for one which I killed next turn with my assassin. After that my opponent scooped and gave me the match since he used up his hand already.

Well what do you expect, with the new tribal/planeswalker cart types the
goyf now has an potential extra +2/+2. This would make any deck more eager to play it, although I must admit $38 is a pretty stupid price to pay for one.

  • posted a message on Thoughtseize: underhyped and overpriced?
I just went down to my local card shop for FNM, while checking prices I saw thoughtseize was selling for $27!!!:-/. I was a little surprised although not much, I had expected $20-25 but that was a little too much. Too much hassle I thought and used the money to buy 5 lorwyn packs instead, and wouldnt you guess I pulled a thoughtseize from my 3rd pack:D. So I was fairly happy, I hope his card stabilizes lower like psionic blast, I need 2 more.

  • posted a message on General Planeswalker Comparison
I have looked over the planeswalkers with great detail trying to figure out which would be worth getting first. Heres what I came up with:

1)Liliana Vess- My main color is black in most decks so she pretty much rules. A vampiric tutor that is rechargable AND her grave effect made her the best IMO.

2)Jace Beleren- He's been underrated almost everywhere I went. In a blue/black control deck using dreams/megrim he rules, since as you let them draw you make them discard AND they lose life from dreams:). I noticed his great synergy with Vess' first ability in that area. The counters/bounce in his color should be more than enough protection

3)Chandra Nalaar- A free 10 damage nuke 3 turns after putting her into play, that even incudes creatures....yes please:D.

4)Garruk Wildspeaker- No doubt this little guy is useful, after all he basically gives you an extra 2 mana every turn with his first ability. His create the 3/3 centaur ability is like icing on the leafy cake.

5)Ajani Goldmane- He is good dont get me wrong but I personally HATE white, every deck I have tried to build using white as one of the primary components failed utterly. But his ability to permanaently beef up WW makes him a valuable addition i guess.

As for combo's, I read this a little while ago but picture this:

Mycosynth Lattice + March of the Machines + Experiment Kraj + *Planeswalker(s)* = Kraj + planeswalker abilities

**Since the rule that says the planeswalkers can only use abilites once a turn doesent apply to kraj, you can use their abilties with him AS MUCH AS YOU WANT!!!:o:o:o
