I suspect the real reason is that you wouldn't be in charge anymore. A former clan leader demoted to regular clan member sounds awful to an ambitious black mage :p

    Yup thats it!

Seriously though, it has more to do with me rarely visiting forums anymore. Too focused on the real world anymore i suppose.

As for clans, I might disappear into House Dimir. Assuming they'll have me.

I'm not sure if I am or not. I thought about Dimir, since I'm sure they'll welcome an expert on black mana, or possibly the EDH clan. But I'm not entirely sure. I'm starting to think my time always being around MTGS is coming to an end. I'll have to think about it.

Please excuse this interruption for an important announcement on behalf of the MTGSalvation Clan Council...

The next Clan Contest that will be held is the Clan Mafia.
We would like to know if there is enough interest from the clans to set this game up.

Please send me a PM to inform us whether your clan is interested in joining.

Thank you for your attention, I now return you to your regularly scheduled clan conversations.

Considering we are dying off here, I'm going to go with no...

Yeah, we can try, but we already dodged the bullet once. I'm not too sure we can do it again. Not to mention some members never translated over and a few have left. And we haven't had any real new members except one. So, preparing for the worst, is anyone planning on staying in the clans and moving elsewhere?

Yeah, I would have taken the Stoneforge. Whats the worse he could have taken. Liliana, Pox, or Hymn. Still plenty of disruption that would be left untouched. Stoneforge becomes a threat almost immediately.

Didn't go. I usually don't go to releases or prereleases. Not really my cup to tea. My friend who usually drags me to them moved out of state, though he's moving back next week, so maybe for M15 I'll go again. I am thinking about getting a bunch of friends together to draft Theros block. It looks fun.

So, i know its been pretty dead here, but we should probably get this going again. I personally think some of it has to do with the new forums. There are a few members we haven't heard from since the new board went live. Even I've strayed away because I'm not a fan of the new board.

Extinguish All Hope has some sick art. Definitely going to find some home in my EDH decks.

Update here. For some reason, when I create a new set using templates affected or when I open them from the "open set" option, the error occurs. The odd part is, when I actually open the folder that has my sets saved and manually open it from there, the errors are not present. I can save, modify, and view things with no problem if I do it that way. Thanks for all your help, and while its not working per say, its working enough for my needs, so thanks! Also, I thought you'd like to know about this odd glitch.

So, I know in the last thread I deleted all of the member bio answers with the intent of revamping the survey and having us take it again. So I gave it a start....we can mod it before its taken. Answer what you want. This is voluntary. If there is a question you don't want to answer, leave it out. If you have any other questions you can think of to add it, go ahead and suggest them!

    Clans Deck Construction Contest

The idea is that there will be a chosen card for the contest, each clan submits a deck built around said card (this could be expanded though, up to maybe three cards/decks). After submissions each clan will rate each other clan's entry on:
    • Power - Can it win?
    • Originality/creativity - Is it cooky, funny, off the wall? Or is it just a Legacy deck with an awkward card shoehorned in?
    • Card-centric - How focused is it on the round's card?
I'd like to add a couple of other criteria to the judging, but those are just a start for now.

Another take on this I'd like to throw out there, we could have each clan choose a card that represents their clan. Any card. Then, we could have a "Last Card Standing" like we did a few years ago. The criteria for each round is random questions, like "Which card would most likely be missing after a night of clubbing" or "Who's the first to lose in a straight up brawl", ect. They can be completely random and fun. Each clan then decides and the card with the most votes is out.

After that, we could do a second contest. Each clan takes their card from the previous round and builds a deck (any format or the format could be decided upon ahead of time) based on that card. The clans then vote based on criteria listed above, and add some criteria based on how well that card represents their clan.

Just letting you know, [Spirit of EDH]'s Clan Rep hasn't been Phil for a long time (and he hasn't been active ever since he left his place)... I'm still missing my title, but I am the Clan Rep of [Spirit of EDH].

I'll be needing a Clan rep title too.

So....does anyone here have any photoshop skills? They are talking about potentially doing another banner contest for all the clans.

You guys wanna nerf BGx decks? Take gofy. See how they fair without their crack bear. Oh wait I forgot Wizards doesn't care about the secondary market except when a card gets too expensive to ban. they cut gofy and your looking at a lot of people leaving the game.

I'm not even sure that would do it at this point. I mean, look at Jund's card pool. GB is immensely powerful even without Goyf. If they wanted to hit something hard, it would have to be a big utility card, like Liliana or Bob. An attacker can be easily enough replaced.

Hello, and wecome to CMB. I like the list. Alot. Seems solid. I'll add you to the list. The way our system works is you need to acquire so many posts in the clan before you are a true member and get a title. Pretty much, you get to be a member and reap the benefits, but you have to be active to get a cool title.

I see in your sig you play Teysa EDH. You'll notice one thing here, and that is I am a massive EDH player. Out of curiosity, which one are you playing. I used to have an Orzhov Scion deck built, but now that my meta has changed and I have a lot of new players in a more mutiplayer format, I am working on a Envoy of Ghosts stax deck.

@feastofthedead Feast of Shadows: I'll change your name. I got to do some cleaning out of inactive members anyways.

I tried redownloading MSE and all of the installers. Still, I have not found a way to fix the problem. A bunch of littler errors all indicate the same thing: that my MSE is out of date. Perhaps I am downloading an old version from the wrong source?

Nah, Sparkers have only been posted for download in one place, as they are fairly new.

    From my FAQ:
The installer file won't run. Maybe you got a corrupted file? I would try downloading it again. Even with good stable hosting, it is not impossible to get a corrupted file every now and then.

The installer file says it can't create a file. This is due to a permissions problem with Windows 7 and later. To correct the issue, you need to either give yourself the proper administrative permissions to "write" to files in Program Files, or you need to move your Magic Set Editor installation outside of your Program Files directory. I strongly recommend moving it outside of Program Files directory. This is not anything I can help - this is a change introduced in Windows 7 by Microsoft that cannot be worked around by myself, nor any other developer for Magic Set Editor. I'm sorry.

It sounds like you tried the first solution, redownloading. That didn't work. So, move on to the second.

There is a third solution in the FAQ that should be an absolute last resort.

Actually, when I redownloaded the installer, I moved it outside of the program file directory. That ended up fixing most of the problems i was having. However, I am still having issues with some of the templates, specifically the flip walkers and the sparkers (the renders won't even appear on the side), and the Gods (the renders appear, but text will not show up in the card type/creature type box).

Which installers would have the game update file. I might have to try converting it to a zip.

So, now that we are all on the new board.....

BITTERBLOSSOM! Unbanned in modern! Tis a great day. I'm building Faeries now. I do love watching my Bitterlossoms jump up even farther in value.

The unbanning of Wild Nactal is a good one too. Gives a couple new decks a chance to play....and I do think they will fit nicely into the current Modern meta. Getting rid of Deathrite Shaman might have seemed too much, but it was popping up a lot. Sacrifices must be made for progress.

EDH bans Sylvan Primordial, which I felt was the right call. Why punish Deadeye Navigator, which was fair and fine until the Primordial was released.

So in other news, this is our last day on this board. The new one goes active on the 3rd. Personally, I might not love the new board, but it has some potential.

Also, since I have no clue where therestless is. On the new board, I am going to take over as Clan Rep.

Yes, somehow, you've managed to not install the magic game file update that was packed in. If you intentionally didn't do it, which I doubt based on what you've said, then you need to go back and do it. If the installer just failed to on its own, I detail a couple of possible solutions in the FAQ section of my template index (the thread with all the pictures in spoilers).

I only use black sleeves, it is a pain when I have to find the deck I am looking for though, but especially since Hymn to Tourach, Dark Ritual, Duress and Swamp are in frequently appearing in them too... On the plus side, nobody in my playgroup can ever guess what deck I am playing...

I used to do that too with my non-EDH decks. I used black at first, but all it took was one batch that were bad and looked different, then I stopped using black and went to the Magic back Ultra Pros. Never use anything other than those for constructed. I'd love to use those for all my edh decks so it would be so much easier to pull cards from them in the rare instance I go to FNM or a modern tournament or something, but when you have nearly 20 EDH decks, it gets kind of repetitive and boring....:-/
