Good Idea Izzet. I thought tear was 2 mana for some reason but that seemsna better choice. Plus, white has some of the best sideboard cards in modern. I might have to give the white splash a go in the future with Inspiring vantage, Foundry and Arid Mesa.

I'm currently testing 2 Finale's. So far I'm having a blast with the deck!

Hey guys. Just seen another 5-0. Really cool deck and Im keen on playing it. https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/1859488#online

Would Finale of Promise make the list? If so, what would you cut for it?

One last thing...Would a green splash for enchantment hate against Leyline and RiP be worth it?

    Cheers

This is the list Iv'e been playing. It feels good. Chancellor had been good suprisingly, but might be better as Hazoret or something else. I took out the Krenko and put an extra Chandra in, could see 4 Chandra's being ok too. Rabble/Warboss with a lord out, is a super fast clock.

There is a similar build to Goblin Gun, Mono Red Stomoy, which did well in a few modern tourneys in Japan. It's not goblin themed and has Hanweir Garrison and Rakka Mar, but is pretty much the same, apart from a few creatures.

Hey guys. I posted my skred variant on the skred sub reddit. Here's the decklist if you want to check it out:
    https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/1385663#online

Named 'Skrabble' for the 8 rabblemaster cards (Rabblemaster/Legion Warboss. This version puts pressure on the opponent earlier which helps against the combo/control matchups.

Check out my sub reddit post for more insight.

    Thanks!

Has anyone tried Tarmogoyf? It seems like it would fit well in this deck.

Hey guys. First time poster. A big fan of Hollow One. This is the version of Hollow One I play. I like to put my own little spin on things...so I'm not saying this is better than the stock version, but it's the most efficient version of my own brew's, that I have tested.

I really like Death's Shadow in this deck. It's great with flamewake and TBR if you include them. I have managed to turn 1 DS with this deck, which was fun! It's also great against GY hate. The deck can lose a fair amount of life on it's own...so adding more fetches and Thoughtseize makes DS a nice fit. I have found out you really have to be carefull with losing life for DS though because unlike a traditional Death's Shadow deck we don't run as much removal/discard, so you need to be wary of burn spells and getting attacked on the backswing.

Im running 3 Lingering Soul's also. I really like it in heavy removal/control matchups. Also, very evasive and can be good chumps in the air.

My sideboard is standard but I have replaced 2 Grudge's with Stony Silence.

If you guys have any suggestions, let me know! I'm always willing to test new cards. Thanks!

I think I read that Raystack has a bridgeless version? Any chance Ray or someone could post it for me? I'm working on a brew which is a mix of Pyro Prison and Skred Dragons. Thanks In advance!

That was me and I haven't put it together yet. I'm also working on some super secret tech that was me tioned at the very beginning of this forum......rift bolt. Stay tuned....

I run bridgeless as well. I added chalice to the main since the last time i posted an it's won me a decent amount of games. It makes me wonder why i never had it mained in the first place. How many matchups did you find yourself moving bridge to the board? From what i've read from posts in here, it seems like it gets boarded out frequently.

Can you suspend rift bolt with a chalice on 1 since suspend is an ability?

My list doesn't run bridges in the main or the side. I play bridges in the pyro prison version but this is a different take on the deck. My bridgeless version runs similar to skred but doesn't have as bad matchup like Skred does with combo and control.

I really like the pyro prison archetype. I think playing fast with rituals into Planeswalkers, creatures or lock pieces is powerful and It's fun brewing decks with those elements. Whether it's pyro prison, a bridgeless version or whatever ideas you have, I think there's alot of potential, and a lot of ways to go with deckbuilding. Which is exciting!

Yes you can suspend rift bolt for 1. Which is awesome.

Awesome Russ. I am very interested in seeing your list. Here's my list I have been testing. The initial idea was to make a mix of Skred Dragons and Pyro Prison. This Is what I'm running currently...

I will give you the lowdown on some of the choices in the deck...

23 Lands + 4 SSG: At first, I did test 21 lands with 4 SSG and 4 Rituals. The problem I found was that I would be stuck on 2/3 lands. Without bridge you want to be hitting your lands every turn to keep up, or create pressure. The rituals helped early but there were so many games where I was stalled with the lack of mana. If anyone has success with extra rituals, let me know.

5 Dragons: Glorybringer has really impressed me. Stormbreath can just win games on its own and Avaricious has been a great late game threat. I was running more Dragons at first but found the deck to be too top heavy amd clunky. I was wanting some more early to mid game spells instead to 'balance' out the deck a bit.

Removal: Removal is pretty standard. I like the versatility of Abrade and Ratchet Bomb. Anger is great obviously and rift bolt has been impressive...may add more rift bolts in the future.

Rabblemaster: Against certain matchups or after angers he can just win the game by himself on empty boards. It's nice having an early threat in this type of deck like Rabble.

Anyway questions or suggestions, fire away!
Ive also been working on another pyro variant. Which I may post in the future...Pyro Stompy.

Another 3-1 tonight at the LGS.

Round 1: UW Spirits 2-1, he won game one on a mull to 5 from me that didn't have a turn 1 play but did have a turn 2 moon, he just happened to have his basics and we were more or less toast. Game 2 was a back and forth battle that broke when I slagstormed into his tapped out board from playing a supreme phantom, he sacs the Wanderer to make me pay two more and... double spirit guide (I'd ripped them back to back turns). Savage beating. Game 3 I turn one moon'd him on the draw and he didn't have basics. GG I don't think this matchup is as bad as I initially thought as long as we know what to look for (BRIDGE). Just cast your stuff on time and they have a really tough time if they're having to sac stuff to counter since it reduces their clock.

Round 2: Burn 0-2, He had a ridiculous draw in game one and I had no bridge or slagstorm at any point, game two I mull to 5, keep land, land, guide, slagstorm, ritual, I figure I'm probably not going to see much better and maybe we'll hit a swiftspears + guide start or something, I scry a land to the bottom, was another land on top after that that guide got out of the way but then another and he only played the guide + dome spells. I finally found a bridge and he just had the revelry in hand, after game he showed me another revelry. Likely weren't going to win this one unless we spiked a moon which I shaved. I come from a ponza background and I know moon is actually good against burn but I got rekt trying something different out here.

Round 3: Burn 2-0, We play a slugfest of a game one in which he gets me to 1 while he's at 23 and we managed to win. I ripped PnK, Chalice, Chalice in that order and he top decked bolt after I'd chalice'd on one, and hit helix after I chaliced on two. Pretty bad beat for him but Sarkhan was able to help us dig to find them. Game two I hit Chalice on one off a gemstone hand, played a moon on turn 2 and he only had guide to sift through my draws. Eventually we drop a Dragon, pitch hand, next turn drew into another chalice. He actually almsot got me because he was running 3x Exquisite firecraft and I saw two of them but we stabalized at around 6 life with double chalice's and we were golden. Won that game with a Sarkhan ult.

Round 4: Humans 2-0, This guy had been watching my matches off and on during the night so he knew what I was about but I actually wasn't sure what he was on. Game one I can already tell the dude is just mega tilted cuz he's like sighing and such before we even start and isn't talking despite my friendly efforts. We both go to six, I ended up going to 4 on the draw (the 6 and 5 had no lands and the 7 was just too slow). I ended up keeping my 4 of Gemstone Mine, Ritual, Ritual Bloodmoon. Scry'd I think it was Koth or some 4 drop to the bottom. I pregame the gemstone and the dude looked like he was going to hulk out, PREMIUM SALT MINING INCOMING!. He plays a hierarch off a Zigg turn one (what's he complaining about?). I rip the land off the top, turn one moon him. He plays a non-basic and Thalia. I'm already hellbent, I ripped land next turn and pass, land pass again, next turn I ripped anger for a 3 for 1 and the dude just rage quit. Legit like I didn't even have a clock on him. He actually eventually came back into the shop maybe 10 minutes later when I was out front and apologized for being that way which I thought was really a stand up move and I thanked him for that.

I was running the following list.

    4 Chalice
    4 Blood Moon
    4 Ensnaring Bridge

    4 Desperate Ritual
    2 Pyretic Ritual
    4 Simian Spirit Guide

    4 Rabblemaster
    2 Avaricious Dragon
    1 Hazoret
    1 Pia and Kiran Nalaar

    2 Slagstorm

    4 Chandra TOD
    2 Sarkhan, Fireblood
    1 Koth of the Hammer

    4 Ramunap Ruins
    1 Scavenger Grounds
    3 Gemstone Caverns
    13 Mountains

    Sideboard:
    3 Eidolon
    2 Anger of the Gods
    3 Trinisphere
    2 Grafdigger's Cage (I know I know, non-bo, didn't bring my Tormod's crypts/sideboard tech box with me)
    1 Damping Matrix
    1 Torpor Orb
    1 Sorcerous Spyglass
    1 Spellskite
    1 Boil

    Takeaways:

Sarkhan and Av Dragon are the truth! I got my copies of both last week and this was my first non-MTGO experience playing them and they were both good to me. I even got to ult Sarkhan! The rummage effect on Sarkhan is just unbelievable for us, I almost think it's exactly what we've wanted. It's not a turn one type of play to me but that repeatable card selection is just so good. He's also borderline ignorable by our opponents because his ult takes awhile and it's a relatively harmless effect. The spirit player was like "I didn't want you to keep filtering but I just had to get you dead, I didn't see it being profitable to attack him" which is kind of a neat wrinkle. Av dragon was sweet the one time I got it online too. Just Bottled Cloister on a body. I had some experience running Cloister in RB Planeswalkers and it's good for similar reasons but having it on a 4/4 body and Sarkhan potentially being able to cast it is pretty cool.

TL:DR - When so many of our cards are just bonafied haymakers we just need to see more of them. I'm in on Sarkhan now for sure. Dude's a monster.

Nice Gelati. How were the Trinisphere in the sideboard? and what matchups do you bring them in? I really like Raystacks list with Avaricious. It's such a underrated card.

Anyone tried Rakka Mar? I really like this card and its card like rabble which can get out of hand if not removed. Making 3/1's each turn, straight away is great. Ive tried it in a bridgeless stompy aggro build and it was quite good.

That's a list I'm testing right now. Sideboarding and Maindeck are shifting alot.. still not convinced about this craft regarding the oldschool list..

How's testing been? Maybe Avaricious Dragon could work. Also, I would try Abrade over Draconic Roar.

Guys, What am I streaming tonight?

    1. Stock list again with minor changes to the sideboard? Chainwhirler out, Magus of the Moon in.

    2. Stock list with 4 Molten Rain in the board? Better vs Tron/Jund. Looking at removing Chainwhirler, Boil, Spellskite, and a shattering spree.

    3. Updated Stock list with dragons....taking out 2 ballista, Koth, P&K. Putting in Sarkhan #3 and 3 Glorybringer?

    4. Bridgless Dragons combining Skred Dragons with Pyro Prison. Don't have a list for this, but we can create it on the fly on stream. You'll get to hear my thoughts as I build a deck.

    Let me know.

    Russ

I feel like there could be something there with mixing Skred Dragons with Pyro Prison Russ. Skrrd Dragons base with more rituals and chalice's seems interesting. After playing Skred Dragon's...there were games where I would have naked Planeswalkers out with no creatures amd obviously no bridges in play, With nothing in hand or the lack of mana to cast Dragons threats .So I do feel there could be a hole to plug there. Maybe some more 2/3 drops.

Long time reader, first time poster. Love the deck!

I have a question. Post board do you think our artifacts need more protection? Artifact/enchantment removal is in most sideboards in modern and getting a bridge removed, or another artifact, can just be game for the opponent against me.
Do you think either Spellskite, Welding jar, Buried Ruin or amy other cards could help the deck be more resistant to removal?

    Thanks in advance.
