Glad to see a thread on this! Here is a mono red version I have been trying out. Works fairly consistent in my experience. Always open to ideas. Just something I've been playing around with.
I have to disagree. Yes it sucks to have multiple copies in hand, or to draw another, but I find that Ezuri doesn't always stick on the board long enough. And if it does, you usually are winning that turn. I personally run four copies for that reason. Am I wrong? Maybe
I ran an abzan list but I didn't have any fetches. I went with the "painless" approach with Gilt leaf, blooming Marsh, horizon canopy, cavern, and Razorverge Thicket. It was very hard to cast non creature spells. I think with running fetches it helps you get the correct colors you need in order to cast your non creature spells. The hardest part with non creature spells is that we have to draw them.
Not sure on your list, but are you running fetch lands? Searing blaze tends to lose it's effectiveness if you are not running fetches. otherwise it pretty much turns into a "sorcery" speed removal spell as it's only at it's best with a landfall trigger. Depending on what cards are in your hand it may be necessary to hold an uncracked fetch in order to generate a landfall trigger for your blazes.
I'm rather new to this particular thread, usually on CoCo Elves, but what about Surgical Extraction in place of probe? Apologies if this has already been discussed. Rather new to the deck.
Atarka's Command is more flexible than Skull Crack. You can play AC as a Skull Crack or you can use it to pump your team/ramp you. I personally see it much like Boros Charm. Usually you get in the 4 damage but occasionally you have to use the other modes.
