BeeMoh: Cheers mate, hope you'd return to tell how you fared. Nice build, thou personally i prefer less creature-based builds
I invested a little to cheapest fetches and additional steam vents to get double red, not the smoothest choice but makes quite a difference still. Made other changes too, still not longing for goyfs but perhaps i get to invest some more if they reprint snapcasters. Annoyingly unreplaceable.. So, this is where i'm at, and at least part of my goal is reached: against casual fair decks i do get to play, not just watch. We all die, timing just varies, or something..
- disallow is weirdly underwhelming, one would think that with planeswalker ultims etc it would shine but even with the discount doesn't seem to get the job done. Nahiri-decks have ton of counters online and usually there are more efficient ways to use mana at that point anyways
- curious homunculus, not too bad actually, never use the topside but flips easily enough, discount is nice, and best of all, enables stubborn denial
- bedlam reveler great topdeck, so i've kept few despite the obvious problems with controlish side
overall the idea is to goof around and then go aggro fast before opp can adjust (search for tomorrow was good at this, think i was mixed up as scapeshift or somesuch. if i actually get some snaps i may have to swap homunculus' for mandrills but then become immense prob wont work, so any ideas/feedback would very much be appreciated still..
Wait, what!? My BUDGET scramblings is UNPLAYABLE because i lack the good stuff??
I agree my deck won't work for lack of resources (time, energy, money for actual manabase) but to say those (Goyf, Snap, Cryptic, Scooze, V-Clique, Ancestral.V) are the only good cards is not logical: most played and popular perhaps, but anyone who plays tarfire over burst lightning is already making allowances to get the best synergy for those particular choices. Not using zephyr spirit anytime soon, and i do miss ancestral vision (liked it even years ago before knowing anything about modern) but still..
Seriously tho, thank you!! i'd missed the primer, it's interesting read and sarkhan was also very nice, i'm just not sure if it's not too late by then, i'd think some ca would be needed sooner if i'm going to make it to the fifth mana, and ramp seems to need too many slots to work well.
At the moment i'm considering curious homunculus for beater with bedlam reveler for draw, those two seem like buddies, and while UR might work better in budget it s***storms all over the sideboard options and whole midrange idea..
Soo, while you've been waiting on the edge of your seats i continued to do some adjustments
Honestly, most games i lose hopelessly, dark clouds are gathering and all the moomins are marching out the valley while i watch opponents's ANYcoloured decks do everything better but no matter, i keep trying and if you have any ideas would very much appreciate feedback..
lightning axe -seems to work better than bolt, most troublesome creeps like tasigur, the golden fang, goyf etc. really needed to be answered fast and at least with my build there seems to be spare cards in hand so the drawback is not so bad..
considering spite of mogis as well..
young pyromaster -provider of chumpblockers and if rancored supports ferocious counters, ok so far
huntmaster of the fells -opponent in xmage suggested it, reid's original build has it, and after pissing and moaning about the price (about 10quid) i gave it a go and it does ton of work.. even added the same in planeswalker form arlinn kord
Overall i think much can be said about using unpopular cards, unpredictability has helped me more than any one card so far. For example overwhelming denial must be bad as it's dirt cheap but against cryptic decks i like it very much..
Would appreciate help hugely: I really liked Reid Duke's temur midrange (decktech etc. in youtube ) but goyf's, snapps, cryptics and fetches make me dizzy pricewise so i tried the affordable options. The idea is sort of same with countering/bolting stuff and then swinging with haste.
Not working too well but i'm not sure if it's all about bad card choises and not just my crappy pilot skills. So would anyone have any recommendations?
My goal here is modest, I've played casually for some time and would now like to go to FNM's modern and maybe not lose ALL the games..
If this is complete corpse i just continue at kitchen tables but it would be nice to try something new.

Moon and shocks are 1of's that i happen to have, only missing sulfur falls, hinterland harbor and rootbound crag but they seem like reasonable investment.
Also, anger of the gods would probably be better than mizzium mortars..
My goal here is modest, I've played casually for some time and would now like to go to FNM's modern and maybe not lose ALL the games..
If this is complete corpse i just continue at kitchen tables but it would be nice to try something new.
