Hey guys, we just posted an article on our site inspired by this deck. While it's not exactly a deck tech, I thought you all might find it a fun read. It's basically a fictional lore based short story involving the strategy of Modern Junk. Hope you guys like it!
Super early, but day 1 of the GP in Brisbane has Abzan doing better than Jund!
Pretty sure they have flayers in them, but I'm not sure if they have Nobles or Baulbes, I saw one with 3x Flayers, 3x Scoozes, 2x Tasigurs, 1x Lilliana, the Last Hope, and 1x Sorin
The spells were pretty standard except a fatal push getting cut down to 2x copies.
Where are you getting updates? Interested to keep up with Brisbane some how today while watching twitch stream of Vancouver.
I've been running 4 path's and 2 fatal pushes myself because my meta has more eldrazi and it's been working great!
As much as I'm hating Flayers I won't recommend other players who want to play Junk to sell them
I have a playset foil I'd like to get rid of, but I feel like it'll be just 1 card away from being a break-away card
I would at least wait until the GP coming up this weekend
You also may want to consider if VOR is REALLY what you want to trade it for, it could honestly be a card of the month and then disappear (which is very likely).
I agree with this, and your previous post about VoR Spsiegel. He has been performing very well for me too in this grixis filled meta. He just forces your opponent to play sorcery speed, or take a removal spell and get a huge elemental. So good. That being said, the meta could shift to an aggro heavy meta again and flayers could be good again. So I wouldnt let Flayers go until the dust fully settles. And even then, I can see both fkayer and nonflayer lists thriving and you just pick whether you like them or not.
I definitely see both logics here. I just haven't had much luck with him myself. Maybe I should wait just in case and see if I can't trade other cards for some VOR's before getting rid of some flayers.
I've been thinking of trading in 2 of my flayers for 2 VOR's since the trade in value is almost equal to the cost of VOR at my LGS. Flayer has done nothing for me as well and he's just sitting in my trade binder.

New to the site, been getting back into magic again as something to help take my mind off nursing school when I need a break.
