Hi. I just made a mono-green ooze deck with a few colorless cards to help it answer sceneries. I got a bit of devotion, so I added a karn and a ulamog. It plays pretty fun. But I need a way to deal with flying. What are good “green” ways of even colorless ways to do it?

Is Skysovereign, Consul Flagship any good? Is Heart of Kiran?

Any ideas? Thanks. I’m hoping for a rather soon answer. I plan to run the deck tonight for fnm.

Hi. I’m pretty sure this has been asked. Melira, Sylvok Outcast and Dismember. Does having melira protect creatures from getting -5/-5? Or does it only work with -1/-1 counters? Thanks.

One of my favorite cards in mtg is torpor orb. It stops allot of cards: snapcaster, prime time, reflector mage. A big modern human deck stopper, lol.

But one think that was just pointed out to me. Orb also stops primal Forcemage.

I was surprised. I’ve been playing foremage for years, and I always thought orb didn’t effect it because it wasn’t pertaining to it at all, but my other creatures.

It is this right? Have I’ve been wrong all this time?

Thanks for getting back to me.

  • posted a message on [Deck Idea]Ball Breaker 3.0 [RG]
A long time ago before the banning of blood raid elf, I had an idea that combined BBE, primal forcemage, and ball lightning/groundbreaker. The way the triggers stacked, ball lightning/groundbreaker got +3/+3. Cascading from BBE gave another random hit too. It was a strong deck that hit hard. Since the time of ballbreaker 1.0/2.0, new toys have been created that could strengthen this deck. It still needs help, so I am looking for assistance.

    23 land

    4 Birds of Paradise
    4 Earthshaken Khenra
    4 Primal Forcemage
    4 Ball Lightning
    4 groundbreaker
    4 bloodbraid elf
    2 Hazoret the Fervent

    Spells

    4 lightning bolt
    3 atarka’s Command
    4 collective company

The deck needs work, and a sideboard which is in progress. Coco is a new addition, but I think it can be ‘blood raid, 5-8. At least in functionality. Usually coco is done EoT, but with this deck, you might want to do it during your pre-combat phase.

So, what do you think? Any merit?

Let’s build this deck version 3.0. Thanks!

Glad to hear the deck did well. And yes, I do worry thick might loose to counter magic. Maybe board in pact of negation. Gideon of the Trials ult can prevent game loss.

    How'd the PTQ go?

As megatog said, Tim refers to the original wizard to tap and ping for one. But the name 'tim' refers back to the movie, Monty python and the holy grail. In it is a grand sorcerer with all this power, and his name is Tim. Hilarious movie. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

the enchantment idea might be interesting. nykthos would be interesting considering allot of the spells require two white. could lead to fast mana for something like ugin or karn. you might want to consider Greater Auramancy as well. get some enchantment recursion too.

again, i havent tried anything black wuth this because i dont have any wb lands. good luck with the build.

looks like a surprisingly decent control/prison deck.

Interesting deck build. I wasn't around when coldsnap wed around. It does add card draw which is good. Finding snow plains is going to be hard. Gideon Intervention is something we might want to consider.

Thanks for letting us know about this build, D90Dennis14.

Yes, the 'planeswalker creature' is when it's active, but not when it's just a planeswalker permanent. You can hero's downfall the planeswalker anytime you want. Just not when it's a creature.

Indestructibily can keep the planeswalker permanent safe from being destroyed. But it won't keep it being safe when your opponent attacks it and not blocked. I think Gideon will die that way.

Indestructibility would protect Gideon from being destroyed, but I don't think it would stop it from being killed from attacking. Am I right?

    Thanks for the idea though.

with the new rules, planeswalkers are legendary. tap a gideon, untap honor-worn, tap honor-worn, add one mana... oops, you need to untap a gideon to make it work. lol, i misread the card.

ever since the rules change, I've been following the jace thread. one card that was brought up was Honor-Worn Shaku. If we use two Gideons and this, then we can get infinite mana. is this worth thinking about as a possible win scenario, or should this be dropped?

Thanks for goin over the idea. Yeah, I did see that Gideon deck. The problem was partly because I didn't thane the wb lands and thoughtseizes. The other problem wb didn't even hit me as a possibility.

I tried playing this deck with the new rule, and it's allot of fun.

well, with the new jace coming out, planesawlkers rules changed. you can now have many gideons on field as long as its not the same specific one. so, all three gideons in this deck can now co-exist. Smile I've been toying with this deck for a whlle since I last posted. It's still mono-while, but its got a WUG feel to it.

    2 Gideon Jura

    4 Wall of Omens
    2 Heart of Kiran
    2 Restoration Angel
    4 Kitchen Finks
    2 Sun Titan
    2 Oversoul of Dusk

    4 Path to Exile
    4 Pact of Negation
    2 Summoning Pact
    4 Wrath of God

    Sideboard

    2 Layline of Samctity
    2 Stony Silemce
    2 Rest in Peace
    1 Gideon, Champion of Justice
    2 Eidolon of Rhetoric
