Playtest vs the other customer (Gruul) who showed up: 2-0.
Game 1 he had a red heavy start (green is his base color.) Went smoothly for me.
Game 2 I double Gut Shot his 2/2 uncommon. Next turn he dropped a rare when I told him his deck was illegal...
This is my current build. If judge Ben were running Elf Ball again, I'd lose to him again!
Playtest vs Abzan Death's Shadow, 1-1.
No SB
This is the man who swept me last month and advised me to add Prismatic Ending. He went 3-0 today and ended up in 2nd place. Much respect!
Round 1 vs Eldrazi Tron, 1-1-1.
SB +3 Alpine Moon, -3 Deafening Clarion.
We went to 5 extra turns. If he had 2 additional turns, he would've won. I scored via draw.
Round 2 vs Grixis Zoo, 2-0.
SB +3 Burrenton Forge-Tender, -3 Prismatic Ending.
His buddy gave him pointers but I didn't mind (If i'm not in 1st place contention, I stop caring.)
Round 3 vs Bant Spirits, 2-0.
No SB
He got mana flooded in game 1 and mana screwed in game 2.
Round 1 vs 4c Elementals, 2-1 games:
SB +3 Burrenton Forge-Tender, -3 Spellskite.
-Burrenton Forge-Tender does the same job as Spellskite, only it's 1 mana instead of 2. This is actually relevant b/c I can Burrenton Forge-Tender turn 1, then Thing in the Ice turn 2, holding my cantrips for turn 3 onward.
Round 2 vs BUG Infect, 2-0 games:
SB +1 Spellskite, -1 Wall of Omens.
-He panicked when he saw Spellskite in game 2. Yup, shut your whole deck down w/one card.
Round 3 vs Abzan Death's Shadow, 0-2 games:
SB +3 Dispel (vs Dismember), +1 Spellskite (protect TITI.) -4 Wall of Omens (his smallest creature was Tarmogoyf.)
-After our match, he advised me to make space for Prismatic Ending.
Round 1 vs Naya Slivers, 2-1.
SB +3 Gut Shot, +1 Natural State. -4 Trufflesnout.
-Game 1 After I mulligan'd once, I saw an opening hand of 3 Forest, 2 Elves, 1 Bayou Groff, 1 Raven Wings. I scry’d 1 Forest to the bottom (4 mana remaining) but I kept top decking 5 and 6 drops… I also didn’t want to sac an elf to Bayou Groff early on since I’m already down 1 on mana.
-Games 2 and 3 went according to plan.
Round 2 vs Elf Ball, 0-2.
SB +3 Gut Shot, +1 Natural State. -4 Trufflesnout.
-Game 1 he cast a 4 mana blue sorcery that let him draw 9 cards b/c there was 9 elves in play. I lost that.
-Game 2 featured an elf that grows whenever you play another elf. It grew too big for even my fatties.
-Imo this match up is a lost cause. Not enough removal to make a difference. If elves are in your meta (we had 2 Elf Ball players, they took 1st and 2nd) do NOT run this deck!
Round 3 vs RDW, 2-0.
SB +4 Feed the Clan, -4 Raven Wings (don’t need flying.)
-Game 2 I won at 46 life, due to all my life gain.
-If there’s a lot of RDW in your meta, I highly recommend this deck!
-I moved Gut Shot into the main b/c I lack removal (other than “fight”), the life gain made Phyrexian mana manageable, it got boarded in twice and wasn’t worthless vs RDW.
-Trufflesnout helped vs RDW but I feel it’s unnecessary and removed it.
Notes: Deck's shell was formerly Jeskai CopyCat's. I found that the space I dedicated to the 2-card combo, can be used more efficiently as 2, single-card finishers. So I added Nahiri, the Harbinger and Thing in the Ice to replace Saheeli Rai + Felidar Guardian.
Round 1 vs Boggles, 0-2.
SB: +1 Spellskite. -1 Wall of Omens. Spellskite alone beats Boggles but my opening hands tricked me b/c I didn’t want to mulligan away into oblivion looking for them.
Conclusion: Tested my previous version of 4cTITI last week vs my Boggles opponent. He was too fast last week and too fast this week. I have to aggressively mulligan into a Spellskite. If I get it, I win. If I don’t, I lose.
Notes: Deck tops out at *5 mana. No X spells or anything 6+. If I reach 5 lands in play, I'm usually happy. I'll discard excess lands to Blood Tokens.
Round 1 vs Golgari, 2-1.
Game 1, I mulled to 4 and lost. Games 2 and 3 went fine.
Round 2 vs Rakdos, 2-1.
Opponent played Ill-Tempered Loner all 3 games! Games 1 and 3, I had immediate removal. Game 2, I was low on life when Ill-Tempered Loner held off my army.
Round 3 vs Mardu, 2-0.
His cardinal sin was running an even split of 3 basic land types. Call me superstitious but I'd never run a 6/6/6 land base. I also will not run 13 copies of any basic land (either 12/14 - it's my burden.)
Tested Faeries vs Vampires, 1-0.
Tested Giants vs Vampires, 0-1.
Round 1 vs Bant Spirits, 2-1.
SB: none
If I researched this format, I may have boarded +2 Llawan, Cephalid Empress, -2 Ponder, which I did later in Round 3.
Round 2 vs Gruul Werewolves, 2-0.
SB: none
I considered boarding Submerge but didn't since I never saw an actual Forest card from him. Afterwards he told me due to his 'budget duals,' I made the correct call.
Notes:
*I've once had a 1 Plains/1 Enlightened Tutor opening hand and had to ship it back b/c of no Vault of Whispers to fix my mana screw. When something bad happens, you never forget.
-If you win the die roll, ALWAYS choose to draw, instead of play. Reason being, discarding turn 1 (off 8 cards in hand), then turn 2 land + Reanimate, is the fastest way to get a Giant in play. It's also surprisingly reliable.
-As you'd expect, most opponents WILL choose to play first, given the choice. It feels good knowing you will get the turn 1 discard you want, no matter who wins the die roll!
(17) Land: 10 Swamp (My 2 color split is roughly even but I wanted more Swamps for Pestilence.) 7 Plains
Round 1, vs Grixis. 1-0 match, 2-0 games.
No SB.
He ran 60 cards. I helped him trim to 40 after our match. New land base was: 9 Island (Fathom Seer, Ghost Ship), 7 Swamp, 1 Mountain. He has a way to fetch the Mountain too...
Round 2, vs Gruul. 1-0 match, 1-0-1 games.
No SB.
Game 1, took a long time. Game 2, I survived the 5th extra turn.
Round 3, vs Boros. 1-0 match, 2-0 games.
No SB.
He had a clunky mana curve. I was all offense from the beginning.
Round 4, vs Abzan. 1-0 match, 2-0 games.
No SB.
The tide turned several times.
Conclusion: I only attended to test some Tribal (I didn't preregister.) Glad I stayed!
Notes: Every time I test Tribal, I give my partner the choice of Fish or Faeries. They always choose Fish. They always lose. The feedback I get is, "Fish lacks interaction." Hopefully someone here can 'deck clinic' this list!
Have you considered reworking it into a Golgari GB list?
You could pick up Masked Vandal and/or Guardian Gladewalker. Also maybe just go all in on the Mercs as well. Add back in 4 Cateran Brute and drop the Garys and Gurmags. Universal Automaton could fit in as well. Find something that buffs the whole team on attack and go more of an aggro route. Just a thought. If I find the time I might rework your list and post it up.
FNM cancelled due to lack of attendance (FNM just posted online yesterday.)

Cave of Temptation produces mana first, then sacrifices later for value. Raven Wings just mana screws you.
