Blazing Archon, Capital Punishment and Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts are all too expensive. I didn't get them out reliably enough to have an impact. Also, in case of Archon and Teysa, they could be removed too easily for such a mana investment. The Vow cycle didn't impress me at all. Usually, when I pumped a creature with one of them, another player would just remove it which they would have done anyway. Magister of Worth was also a little too expensive while also being quite dangerous if there are enough graveyard decks at the table. It got substituted by better wraths. Grand Melee just wasn't made for this deck and I never wanted to actually play it if I had it in hand. Finally, Goblin Spymaster, Rite of the Raging Storm and Tombstone Stairwell, although they are some of my favorite cards, gave too much advantage to opponents who could sacrifice the tokens for some sort of benefit (especially Tombstone Stairwell).
I added a proven all-star wipe in Blasphemous Act (which was too expensive when I originally built the deck, now that I acquired it, it had to go in) and an experimental one in Phyrexian Purge. Selecting which creatures get hit by paying a bit of life seems good in some situations, but detrimental in others. I also added a land in Mistveil Plains, which has amazing synergy with Sunforger and hasn't got terrible downsides. Speaking of Sunforger, I strengthened the package with Crush Contraband, Deflecting PalmUnmake, Wild Ricochet and Wrecking Ball which are all good on their own, but amazing if you can tutor them out. Also searchable is Debt of Loyalty, which is really good even with the oracle text. I like these largely unknown, old, unique effects and I'm looking forward to "saving" someones creature with that. Duelist's Heritage is another one that I first rejected due to budget issues, but that could be really good. Last but not least, Xantcha, Sleeper Agent was printed for this deck, giving one player a disadvantage, but still leaving him with the option of attacking with Xantcha and dealing some damage (since nobody else will want to remove her).
Hey guys, this is my take on Chromantiflayer. I need suggestions for the main deck as well as for the sideboard (I'm not that good at sideboard building yet). The main strategy should be simple: Get a bunch of keyword creatures in the graveyard, then use Soulflayer to get all those keywords combined on one creature. At that point, either outvalue your opponent with a hard-hitting flyer, or use Tainted Strike to instantly kill your opponent, provided you got haste and double strike and they can't block or kill your creature.
I passed on the usual red splash for Faithless Looting and others because of budget issues, the mana base becomes too flimsy if I only play pain lands and basic lands, ally color pains are also relatively expensive.
