Lol these reprints annoy me. Fell in love with this deck like 3 months ago. Ordered basically everything on paper like 2 months ago. Had an eBay issue and just received chandras last week after a month and a half of waiting.. (just on time for local fnm) and now all these cards are gonna drop in price... Im a sad little mountain man.

So game 1 against unknown oppenent. Hand is: ritual, simian, chalice, rabble, land, land, slagstorm. Do you play rabble on turn 1. Or do you chalice 1, rabble turns 2?

Can someone please help me with young Pyro in the SB. Do I just bring her in for the midrange/control matchup? If anyone has experience on what matchups in particular she shines that would be helpful. Thanks!

Congrats Russ on the matches! Question for you and everyone else. Is magus for sure a 2 of in the main? Like have there been notable matches where magus was "clutch".
I know turn 1 Blood Moon effect is usually devastation nation. But with all the creature removal around I was just curious. I finally just got all the goodies in paper!! (decided I needed chalice more than my left kidney)

Really dig this forum!!Everybody is friendly and very open minded to actually test an idea, instead of just shutting it down and calling them and idiot lol. Negative people kill forums!!I kind of sgree with the Spyglass over mstrix. Both are good. But Spyglass costs 1 less and the big reason is that you get to see what the oppenent is working with. Can really help with your next turn if your not sure what to play when you have options.

What's the thought on young pyromancer?? Is it worth 2 slots in the sideboard. Personally I don't think so. Maybe I'm using it wrong. Mainly brining it in against Control, grind decks. Liliana and such. The only thing I enjoy about young p Is that its an extra potential threat in the deck if it's not dealt with (especially when they bring in grave hate) and is it less useful in the sideboard with the bauble build due to less instant and sorceries?

Well, I've been trying it for the past 5 days online quite a bit and there are a couple of things I have noticed that have made me like the 17 land count but dislike the baubles.
I think they are absolutely amazing with a fetchland, they are almost a free opt in that scenario, you scry, and then draw next upkeep.
However, I have found them to be quite a bad draw later in the game, if you don't have a fetchland the best you can do with it is look at the opponent's top and draw next turn, where the draw might be a threat that you can't actually play and is susceptible to thoughtseize, if you crack in their turn its ok, but still its 1 turn later than a regular cantrip.

So my decision has been to try a list such as this:

I'm back and forth with 18 and 17 lands, just because I like the second Blood Crypt, but I'm still testing and I'll keep checking.

I dig the list. And really like the sideboard. Not as many 3 cmc. And I like rakdos charm. keep us posted if you like the 17 land without bauble. And if you notice any issues with 4 anglers. I liked the bauble because they really help with the turn 2 angler.

I've been playing around with the 4 bauble/17 land version. I think 17 lands is acceptable. Bauble is fun. Makes for some good opening play with a serum and street wraith in hand. I think this build is more explosive in the early game. But doesn't have the late game as tradish grixis shadow. I was having little to no issues putting down a turn 2 angler. It felt almost more suicidey/infect with the 2 tbr in the main. I did notice with all the 3 cmc in the sideboars it was sometimes a struggle to find the third land. Would love to hear people's thoughts on the bauble version if anyone has toyed around with it.

Do you ever miss having the 3rd dusk watch? I just hate having unlimited mana and nothing to do with it.

Haven't read through the forum, but would it be okay to get rid of small pox. Add ensnaring bridge. And splash green for ancient stirrings.helos you find your lock and kill. And than we have a green splash for decay, pulse . I'm fairly new to the deck. But since ancient stirrings is just crazy, I was wondering if it fit.

I like the 3/2 split on push /bolt. Mirran can just finish the game and that's not something I'm OK with lol . And not having to always worry about lands is nice for the revolted push. I also like tbr. Helps just push through creatures (company, affinity, dredge). I run 1 main and 1 in the side. I bring in the extra tbr against games we need to finish early (Tron, burn, valakut) and the bolt snap bolt also helps accomplish this. And I agree with the sideboard. We need cards that have multiple applications against the wide meta

Agreed. Would love to know where young p fits. I personally think it's junk. I get after sb people bring in graveyard Hate and it helps. But there has to be better options.

Been testing 2 hazoret the fervent in the main with decent results . any thoughts? (Running the 19 land version. 4 shad 3, snap, 3 wraith 2 tasigur, 1 angler, 2 hazoret) by turn 4 or 5 I usually have 1 or less cards. And hazoret turns dead land draws into burn spells.

Agreed. I moved k command out of the main and 1 in sideboard. K command is good with snap, but I hardly ever have 5 mana to tap

Ya it is a different play style. Probably not better at all lol. I just feel like the deck is missing something . and i hate losing life to never hit a shadow. I took out 4 Street wraith for the 4 delver (3 snappy) . And ran 2 dismember to help with the life loss.
