Is it wrong that between the two announced products, I am more interested in the core set than the commander product? Especially after last year's offering?
Genie of the Lamp 3UUU
Legendary Creature - Djinn [MR]
Flying
At the start of the game, if ~ is your commander, you get three Wish Counters. T, Remove a Wish Counter from yourself: Cast target card in exile by paying its mana cost.
5/6
If I'm reading this right, the process goes:
First Mull: Seven cards, one to bottom
Second Mull: Seven cards, two to bottom
Third Mull: Seven cards, three to bottom
etc
Seems fair to me and also a godsend to make the mulligan system less harsh.
Over the course of its 25-year history, Magic: The Gathering—the world’s first and most popular trading card game—has redefined the fantasy genre through its exploration of diverse, fantastic worlds. And traversing those worlds are Planeswalkers, heroes who have sworn to defend the Multiverse from harm. Magic: The Gathering: Rise of the Gatewatch is a visual history and celebration of Magic’s first team of Planeswalkers—Jace Beleren, Ajani Goldmane, Gideon Jura, Chandra Nalaar, Nissa Revane, Liliana Vess, and Teferi. The Gatewatch’s character histories, from their origins through their final confrontation with Nicol Bolas, are presented here via the very best card, packaging, and convention-exclusive artwork, all of it reproduced together here for the first time, some seen for the first time outside of the card frame. Rise of the Gatewatch is a giftable visual reference guide sure to appeal to new and longtime Magic fans alike.
Bolded for emphasis on what I personally think is a retcon as I recall the nine titans being also a planeswalker team. Just thought I would bring this to the story people's awareness.
Both versions of GS have just been climbing, no sign of plateauing yet.
Non-foil Semblance Anvils have taken a sharp downward to $8.32 from $14.9.
Foil Semblance Anvil on the other hand is currently at a plateau of $24.98 from its start at $8.1, if it rises or falls we don't know.

Ah yes, the first planeswalker team, I remember the Gatewatch when they were called "The Eight Titans" during the war for Dominaria against the Phyrexian invasion. /sarcasm
Era 1: MTG had no original storyline, Alpha to Arabian Nights. (Less than a year)
Era 2: Antiquities to Apocalpyse featuring Urza, Phyrexia Storyline. (About 7 years)
Era 3: Odyssey to Future Sight featuring Jeska, Post-Urza Storyline. (About 5 years)
Era 4: Future Sight to War of the Spark(?) featuring Nicol Bolas and the Gatewatch, Mending Storyline. (12 or more years)
I agree with your well laid out timeline and can't believe the story has been going on that long. Assuming the Bolas arc is ending in WAR, I wonder if we have heard/seen the next antagonist if the stories blend together.
The Gatewatch/Bolas storyline was at least intertwined with stories that had little to no correlation, like Lorwyn or Theros, at least in the first 5-6 years of the Bolas saga we had some intervals, after Tarkir it has been Bolas-Gatewatch-Bolas-Gatewatch-and-more-Bolas behind the scenes.
It iakes the expanse of the multiverse and make it small and shallow like a puddle with Bolas in the middle.
That has got pretty old...
Also true. Plus back during the intermissions with blocks like Lorwyn, they tended to be longer in block size than nowadays. Like if we were to get Theros nowadays in our first visit, it might be 2 or 1 sets in length than the three we had originally gotten for story and cards, then we would continue the mainstory.
Oh yeah, her face does look kind of weird, then again I guess I just didn't notice since personally I got used to her being off model most of the time.
Does seem worrisome. Now we wait and see what actually happens. Could be something bad, could be something good, could even be nothing of note at all changes.
The reason people expect deaths, the reason people want certain characters to die, the reason people are tired of them...its the longest story arc they have had in some time.

Obviously there has been plot points threaded through the Eras such as Phyrexia, Karn, Nicol Bolas, Urza, Jaya, Jhoira, Teferi, etc.
I don't hate the gatewatch members, but even I'm feeling the fatigue with their storyline. Hopefully "War of the Spark" is the end of this current era and the story can start more "fresh-faced".
Her magic tattoos lack that usual purple, more of a white which. Not that out of character for her as well, she was previously able to use that type of magic before being led astray.
I don't doubt that a couple Planeswalkers may die, there are quite a few who didn't have the impact that Wizards had hoped they would, or straight up cannon fodder 'walkers that were never meant to be all that important. (Arlinn Kord, Huatli, Tibalt, forgetting a few that literally are forgettable.)
And if anything, we're definitely gonna lose some Ravnican legends. Sad
Tibalt is in the new Chandra comics that happens after War of the Spark, so he'll not kick the bucket, sorry.
Wait, you're saying the whole comic is a spoiler?
Yep. You can get the first comic now and it basically reads as aftermath.
I'm guessing that they waited so long to release issue #2 (scheduled to release at the end of March) so as not to spoil things too much for the main story.
I believe that as well. The release date schedule for issues 2-4 were slated for a much earlier release. #2 on IDW states it was December 2018, #3 is January 2019, #4 is February 2019, the graphic novel version (Issues 1-4) is for May 2019.

1x Worldfire
1x Red Elemental Blast
1x Sulfuric Vortex
1x Goblin Guide
1x Gamble
1x Fireball
1x Wheel of Fate
1x Chandra's Ignition
Chandra Nalaar: Her first appearance, like Jace Beleren.
Worldfire: Banned card in commander like Gifts Ungiven for Jace.
Red Elemental Blast: To mirror Jace's signature Blue Elemental Blast.
Sulfuric Vortex: Just seemed like an appropriate spell that Chandra would have to me.
Goblin Guide: Storywise, what that got through Zendikar 1.0 was a group of goblins who acted as her guide.
Gamble: A favorite of theirs to reprint in recent years and it would be complementary to Jace's Mystical Tutor.
Fireball: Simple and iconic while fitting for her.
Wheel of Fate: Would make sense based on her Chandra Ablaze and Chandra, Flamecaller versions.
Chandra's Ignition: Personally just chose this for story reasons.
