I'd be totally fine with this being true.
Is it possible that The Raven Man's identity won't be revealed until Belzenlok is dead?

My thinking is that in the wake of his internal epiphany while fighting Bolas, Gideon will start using his hieromancy again. Jace seems primed to make a switch to a much greater use of illusion magic. Chandra I hope discovers new uses of her power - learning to cast something like The Purifying Fire would be an awesome use of her abilities.
Gideon actually using hieromancy would be great. This might be something weird to say, but it might even also pave the way for a Gideon card without the signature "turn-into-a-creature" ability, as he'll focus more on tactics and suppression magic than throwing himself into the thick of things. This would, in turn, broaden the design space for him.
Jace's Ixalan card does suggest that his Illusion magic will be more prominent, but we'll see. I still think that his lost memories of Vryn are the biggest obstacle to his potential, as he basically lost his experiences training under Alhammaret. -

As you said, Chandra's raw flames won't always cut it, which Bolas demonstrated; we know that she can create elementals and phoenixes, as well as use Ghostfire, yes we never saw any of that in her fight against Bolas. Nissa's leyline magic has untold potential, which can be a double-edged sword since it might make her too OP in the story.Posted in: Articles
A number of people think that Bolas is gunning for Dominaria, so it'd be interesting to see what goes on with that. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
It's Elspeth, not a new walker, and the torch looks like the one Xenagos had.
But I'm serious though. This story has given me the idea that a Nicol Ugin character might actually form from the twins in the future.
Defender "doesn't have any meaning" because defending is usually all they do.
Arcades turns all of those normally harmless cheaply-costed walls into massive beatsticks, and gives you card advantage for putting them on board.
Doran let you flip the script with high toughness creatures, but he doesn't disable defender, which locks out a lot of high-toughness creatures without something like Assault Formation. Arcades actually addresses that.
Just because Arcades is Bant doesn't mean Ugin couldn't be, especially because this connection he has with Bolas seems to go even deeper than we realized. Also I don't know where you were going with Asmadi, because you seemed to get confused there.
Uh no, the Tarkir Dragonlords existed long before Ugin was pwned by Bolas there. They showed up in Khanfall because Tasigur betrayed the other clans to them, and Ojutai and Silumgar decided to form a temporary alliance. In fact, IIRC, they were the first to emerge from the dragonstorms, which is why they're "Elder Dragons".
What did you want from him? His original version was all about toughness, and he himself was a fan of order and civilization.
Defender-matters looks very fitting for him, to be honest.
Oh my word. OH MY WORD! I didn't even know I wanted this, but I want this!
*Calms down*
Well anyway, Arcades will make a very interesting general. I hope the folks who were complaining about Palladia and Chromium not being commander material will respect this one.
If so, is it possible that they could "fuse" Dragonball Z Piccolo and Kami-style later on in the overarching plot?
You're really dedicated to this, aren't you?
I agree that it's a pretty fun-looking card, especially if your opponent tutored something important and put it on top.
We knew about the sword, and maybe Valiant Knight (I don't recall that, but it looks vaguely familiar), but did we already know about Lena?
These are the kind of legendary creatures I've been wanting from Kaladesh block.
I think I'm satisfied with where both of them are at, but someone else can chime in at any time.
Considering it's in the Tezzeret planeswalker deck, and New Phyrexia isn't one of the planes featured in this Core Set, there was a very good chance it would have had something to do with Tezzeret.
But I don't mind this being in its own thread.
