I'm running a mardu burn and got some interesting games in yesterday.
Scapeshift 1-2. Only chance I had was to out burn him. I tried to keep my life total as high as possible but never was good enough. Would loveither some advice against it.
Jeska harbringer deck 0-2. Once he was able to get lightning helix under the lens he kept out of my lethal range for spells by 1-4 health usually. Both matches were close. In the past matches I've had with him I've beat him everytime, but he seemed to hit all his bolts and helixs.
Merfolk mono blue 2-0. She was able to go wide around turn 4 but by then it was too late and I had plenty of burn spells in my hand.
I ditched my Leyline of Punishment for Rampaging Ferocidon on the SB. I feel like even with the creature type being more vulnerable, the cheaper cost and ability to combat and ETB damage to opponents will make this card a better fit.
I haven't ran into much problems having a white source, but more so getting killed by a creature who buffs off how much damage their controller has taken or how many creatures are in their graveyard. That is why I had path in the main from now on.
So, I ran mono red burn for a month and had some good results online and in person against a wide variety of tier 2 and tier 1 decks. Now that I've switched to Boros Burn, I am having more and more losses it seems. Is it just because i dont have enough fetches or shock lands? Here is my decklist, any help would be great.
I have been playing Scion for weeks now learning how to make it competitive in my local tournaments. The sideboard is mainly cards I want to upgrade my deck down the road when I can acquire them. I've had the most with trouble with turn 2-3 infinite mana decks, control and mill decks. Any help would be appreciated.
Cast Scion of the Ur-Dragon with 5 mana left over or have haste cards in the works with 4 mana. Then go for Moltensteel Dragon on scions first activation lose 12 life and gain 6 "+1" on scion until end of turn. Then I activate scion again before i attack and bring out Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon and hit an oppenent who cant block for 10 infect killing them off.
Next, if someone or even me has another creature in a graveyard i will cast scion for 5, activate his ability and get Worldgorger Dragon into the graveyard. I will then use Animate Dead on Worldgorger in the graveyard to bring him to the battlefield. Once Worldgorger ETB effects trigger i send all my permanents to exile along with Animate Dead. Then Animate Dead triggers when it leaves the battlefield and sacrifices worldgorger. Then worldgorger second ability triggers bringing all my permanents back to the field. I tap all of them for mana and then attach animate dead to worldgorger again. I do this 70 million times to give me as much mana as i want and then attach animate dead to an oppenents creature in their graveyard or one of my own besides worldgorger. Now i have a bunch of mana i use scions ability to bring out Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius and activate his ability to deal as much damage as i want to the enemies.
If i have Scion of the Ur-Dragon out or have haste for scion effect i will cast him, then I will use his ability to grabNiv-Mizzet, the Firemind if i have Curiosity or Ophidian Eye in my hand I can I will attach them to Niv-Mizzet and tap him to draw a card and then Niv-mizzet will trigger and then curiosity and back and forth until i run out of cards. Once im done i will usually leave 10 cards in my library and discard the cards i dont like and keep the 7 i do. In that seven and if i have the mana left over i will cast either Feldon's Cane and tap to return my graveyard into my library. And if i found the ophidian eye in all that card drawing or curiosity if i didnt use one or the other to start with i can activate again on my next turn. Also if i have alot of mana i can use Time Reversal once i draw all my cards and cast it as well. I can also use Living death once all my cards are in my graveyard to bring all my creatures to the battlefield to wreck face next turn.
Also i am planning to use The Ur-Dragon with enchantments or sorceries that give him infect to do a one strike kill. Example of those cards will be Phyresis or Tainted Strike or Glistening Oil
In the event I'm facing some mean artifact decks and i have Phyrexian Metamorph i will use scion's ability to bring out Hellkite Tyrant, then cast phyrexian to copy hellkite tyrant. Hopefully i have some haste ogiving effect out there will use both of them to steal two players artifacts. Those artifacts combined with my own may hit the magic number of 20 and win the game. I could also do the same if i can get Scourge of the throne out before i copy and hellkite tyrant and get two attack phases with him.

Combos I like to use are:

I will also The Ur-dragon with Atarka, World Render or Scourge of the Throneor Dragon Tyrant to deal 20 commander damage or even more if i have any dragon buffs out.
