Really want to thank you sicsmoo, I played the exact 75 from your sideboard guide (and stuck to it for sideboarding like 90% of the time) and finished 11-4 in GP Barcelona. Scavenger Grounds won me both games in a match against Dredge, I really like the inclusion.

    Fantastic finish!

Also, I'm super onboard with Scavenger Grounds. It wasn't even a blip in my head when looking at Tron until Sicsmoo pointed it out and it's been an absolute rock star.

EDIT x 2: Its 2 KCI, in the top 16, and that weird Affinity build. If it can power up Affinity and thats not a flash in the pan, THEN I think it gets nuked.

Scales is not a flash in the pan. It's another Matt Nass special. He's been tuning it nearly as long as KCI with his friends which should tell you something.

The fact that people haven't caught on to the deck yet is just insanity to me.

Increased Tarriff.. maybe it's only for Canadian buyers?

I ordered some cards from SCG two days ago that they shipped yesterday. The card prices and shipping prices are still the same.

    Yes.

Straight 10% tariff on all "playing cards" from the US. So all sealed MtG product in all stores is going to go up. Which, if it has any impact on pack sales, will also drive up prices on singles.

Though my understanding is that WoTC is aware and was working with distributors to get Core 19 stuff through the border before things went in place. So in theory, for the first wave of M19, we shouldn't see any jumps.

It's going to be a blood bath if they unban it as far as secondary prices go

    Just highlighting this.

And yeah, yea it will. But not only on SFM, Batterskull and some of the swords (personally, I'd expect to see a big jump on War and Peace. Being immune to Bolt and Path is a pretty big deal), it's all the surrounding cards. Just liks BBE kicked some Jund cards into orbit, SFM will kick other cards up. I'd expect to see her in UW shells the most and if so, Colonnade/Cryptic/Snapcaster probably see yet another jump. Even things like Aether Vial could see more movement if D&T perks up more.

    It'll be interesting.

Along those lines, I don't want Preordain back until they have a place to put it. Foil copies are already pushing $60US and an unban will jack that through the roof. More supply first please and thanks.

My gosh, some of these cards aren't subtle eh.

Infernal Reckoning - "Get bent Wurmcoil/Eldrazi"

Alpine Moon - "Pee Off Urza's Tower"

Amulet of Safekeeping - "Hey Storm? You there? Yeah. You're screwed while this is on the table. Find a bounce spell, win in a turn or die"

Remorseful Revenant - "Dear Dregde: Get Bent"

    Mistcaller -"Legacy Reanimator? Hahahahah"

Plaguemare - "Remember when you wanted Chainwhirler banned from Standard? LOL"

Hi, I want build UR Gifts Storm but i dont know if is a good idea.

Do you think it´s worth build this deck now?

    That depends.

Are you a combo player at heart?
Is it going to be your main deck that you play 80+% of your matches with?
Do you like problem solving on the fly?

If yes, then yeah. Storm's still a great deck. If you want a combo deck to muck about with on the side or you like combo decks that are more A+B then I'd recommend against it. Storm is an easy deck to play when you aren't disrupted. When you are, it becomes a pretty intricate dance where experiance funky problem solving matters.

I don't mean that as discouragement. It's just I've seen some people jump into the deck because it's cheap or looks neat and then turfs it pretty quick because it wasn't the experiance they were looking for.

Thanks. I found a storm deck that looks fun. I like the idea of combo decks. It is basically the deck minus the scalding tarns so I'll just get it and build the mana base as I go along while adjusting the decklist to make it my own/attune it to the meta. I just need a deck to play around with at my lgs right now and 150 dollars seems to be a fair price to be able to do that.

    Greetings!

If you're looking at Storm, I'd take an eyeball at the Storm decks on mtgtop8.com if you haven't. I only mentioned it since I saw Scalding Tarn in your message and it's an extremely expensive card that's been dropped entirely from the version of the deck most of us who play Storm regularly use. Which would be a big help for your budget considerations.

Any worries/plans regarding stirrings ban after this last GP? Whether you believe it's warranted or not, it should probably be considered at this point.

On the chance that something does happen, I picked up a playset of Oath of Nissa. And if nothing happens, shrug. They weren't much and I'm sure I'll find a use for them at some point.

    Question:
If WOTC were to ban a card out of humans what card would it be?

I am not calling for a ban at all but I own the humans deck and am a bit worried about it. I've been hit by to many bans to not be worried a bit. My thought is meddling mage or thalia's lieutenant, I really hope it is not noble, aether vial or cavern of souls.

    Meddling mage eh?

Interesting. Only because I was listening to the GAM podcast the other day and Gerry was speaking about how he thinks Meddling Mage is a garbage card and a relic from when the deck was originally made to beat Storm. Now that no one but Caleb and Paul are regularly winning with Storm, he's pretty firm on them needing to go. Though I don't recall what his suggestions were to replace it.

Is KCI that good? Is it Lantern levels of Good? I dont know.

It absolutely is. However if anyone thinks Lantern is challanging to play, KCI is probably a good 5 steps up. It's an extremely challanging deck to play well. Not hard to play averagely, but to do it well? That's skill. That's why it's Nass and Elsik one see's doing well with it. Combo players to the Nth degree.

My only actual irritation with the product is that it's insanely over packed. A huge box to have another box with gobs of room around it to hold a single booster pack. A pack I might add is glued to the 2nd interior box so if you're not super careful pulling the pack off, it's crazy easy to bend all your new cards.

I love the cards and I love the cool foil logo on the front. But boy howdy, there's so much wasted material here.

Now excuse me. I need to go take my old man hippy boots off. Grin

Excuse me whilst I internet hug you sicsmoo for your amazing work! It's extremely helpful. Especially to a newer Tron player like myself.

I'm also trolling through your games spreadsheet which is quite neat. I'm going to have to start one of these.

    Oh Modern.

I love random cards and weird decks but I'm usually the one getting other people but boy did I get got today. Never heard of Tallow Wisp before and the instantly tutoring up Spell Queller was quite the suprise.

Ah, inovation. Sometimes, you taste like salt. Even to me.

the trigger on Sword of Light and Shadow is worse than fire/ice or feast/famine though. i think fire/ice has less applications in modern than legacy. drawing a card is obviously always good, but there are less blue creatures, and fewer creatures with 2 toughness. i could see feast/famine and war/peace being better than fire/ice.

all of the swords will swing wildly in their usefulness depending on the matchup, which brings in to question their playability when you also consider the equip cost and the need for more equip fodder.

    Yup.

Which is why if one goes in on the SFM package, you have to go all in. There's no halfway. Which is also why I think people worried about it in Human's have nothing to fear. Really, you need to have 6 slots in your deck open for it and at least another in your sideboard. That's a lot of room.

Also, looks like we're ahead of the price curve here. I've wandered into 6 shops looking at the Swords and Fire and Ice is already sitting around $60CAD ($45USD). Fleh.

I have been trading for every SFM that comes through my LGS. a couple Batterskull as well, need a few more of them. like you said, they won't go down unless Wizards does some reprint (unlikely, but i still proritize the promo) and it's probably coming to Modern sooner than later

The cynic is me thinks that if/when ever they get around to unbanning SFM, it's going to be one of the chase rares in a new Master's set of some sort.
