I like this kind of deck, but I got some questions about card choices.

Mainly is the temur battle rage, is it really necessary?

And what is your opinion on increasing the number os Fatal push and maybe adding a terminate or a cast down, reducing the number of bolt and making the deck less red dependent.

no, wizard's lightning isn't good outside the wizards's deck. if you want more burn, you are better served with forked bolt, burst lightning and if you want to play swiftspear lava spike is also an option

It's not a delver deck in the terms that is not focused on playing delver on turn one to flip and cast a bunch of spells to protect it. it's a wizards deck it wants wizards to have 8 bolts it just happen that delver is one of the best 1 mana wizard creatures (that casually can become a bolt).

Now, it's a izzet tempo/burn deck and we should discuss it as diferent way to play the UR tempo deck.

It's a pretty standard list, I saw it various times in the forum. I don't understand the 2x fulminator mage on the sideboard with 4 field of ruin main

    Question for both of you:

1.are you running 25 lands? does the land count really make sense to you?

2.do you feel 4x field of ruin is a bit too much?

3.is thought scour really a necessity to play with tasigur?

I personally prefer this list btw: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/1177779#online
jace over vendilion, and 2x tarpit instead of only a singleton. but they both ran 25 lands and full set thought scour on top of full set field of ruin, that really makes me wonder....

I said because of corey's list and didn't really brought something new and I think both list you shared are essential the same, the changes are according to play style, metagame, etc. you still have the same number of lands, spell and threats, they are just tweaked differently.

thought isn't just for tasigur is more a question of speed, it accelerates azcanta and makes a earlier snapcaster better. but if you prefer serum or removal in is place it's still valid.

about the field of ruins, when corey run 4 he said it was in place of serum vision, I think it was at the pro tour. In the same pro tour, andrew cuneo who play test with corey played this list (https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/923116#paper), he run 2 serum visions instead of the 4th azcanta.

I also like jace in the main deck, just fact I can tut for it as finisher with azcanta makes me want to play it. I also like having explosives main, can tut for it and is a versatile answer

I still didn't had the time to watch it, I just share it because it is another player playing it and I think it always good to see other players playing the deck. Especially because you had great results with it, it works for you like corey's list works for him and I know that one of the reasons is because you are super familiar with the deck.

I super curious how to see how it works with common player (nassif can't be considered a common player but well), I tried the deck, it plays completely different from "my play style" but it worked.

I would like to read that article, knowing how a person thinks when building a deck is a freat tool and was how I became of chapin's and shoota's decks, both have peculiar ways of building.

congrats to both mtg salvation grixis masters tiemuuu and Gods_Shadow :p

Gods_shadow, top 32 at a GP is some corey like result. was it the same list that was piblished in the last published modern decklists?

also, today ross merriam published a video with your decklist

In my opinion the most important thing for modern control list is the versatility of the cards and that's is the main reason jeskai has been the most successful control deck in the last years. the removal of jeskai is efficient and can deal with creatures as well as planeswalker. Grixis prays on the efficiency but is completely meta dependent.

Am I the only that thinks Gods_shadow list is more a midrange deck than a control deck? I'm not saying that isn't a viable list, just feels like a different archetype.

new nicol bolas is probably better in more midrange build of the deck, I don't think that it's good in a "corey's list" but maybe I'm wrong.

the unban of pod or twin will shake up the format, as a blue player if twin gets unban I think it will be the top best blue deck in modern. as for Pod, I'm not so familiar with the deck, but it seems more consistent than CoCo or GW value decks.

EDIT: I think the only cards from the banlist that won't shake up the format or will but in a good way are preordain and Stoneforge Mystic.

alright i guess ill clarify my stance. i tend to play devils advocate a lot. i disagreed with kt's initial point because its built on a false assumption. he even clarified this. showing the before and after isnt proof positive of anything because there are clearly many more factors, some of which are quite big, that could easily explain the shift in the format.

-i played twin. i would like to play it again
-i think the current modern has enough powerful strategies that would curb twins influence
-i think there are enough new powerful cards that would curb twins influence
-i dont think having degenerate elements countering other degenerate elements is conducive to a better format
-i think twin would reduce diversity among ALL decks, because all powerful decks do
-i dont think less diversity equates to a worse format
-i dont believe wizards will ever unban twin

so im pro twin because i like the deck, and believe the format could 'handle' it. however i believe it wouldnt appreciably improve the format, nor make it worse. given that, and wizards conservative approach, i dont think they would ever bother to consider the card as an unban candidate.

normally I only say "bad" things about twin as a deck, but if gets unban I will play it and I mostly agree with you in all the topics, just not completely sure about the format being able to handle it (specially being able to easily play blood moon).

Now, I'm really not sure if the phrase more diversity = better format it's completely true, being able to play everything is good but having a better notion of the metagame let's us create new viable decks and evolve existing decks in a better way (just a runt about this info hide form wotc).

want do we win with splinter twin unban?

the main argument that I hear is a deck the puts in check combo and other dumb decks. so this argument suggests than we should have a oppressive (in terms of gameplay, not being able to tap mana because if you do you lose kind of oppressive), having bad decks doesn't justify having a worst deck, having 2 card infinite combo deck shouldn't be the answer to other combo decks. the twin combo is a oppressive for both unfair and fair deck.

compared to other cards in the ban list, twin players have at least 2 ways to build similar decks, are less consisted and less powerful choices, what in my opinion is what two card infinite combo should be.

In my experience too many games vs twin ended because my opponent add the exact number of remand and the combo in hand, but that exchange of spells made the game "interactive".

EDIT: In my opinion modern has nothing to win with twin unban

the part that I personally hate about pod is how consistently is able to tut for answers or difficult cards against the opponents deck. pod will always find voice of resurgence against control, kitchen finks against burn and there are too many cheap creature tool effects in modern, and there will be more every set, linvala, rhino, selfless spirit, eidolon of rectoric, melira, restoration angel... If Pod had a constriction effect like, only green creatures it would be different (only plus one mana is not a constriction at all), but this way I fond it difficult to unban. Maybe one day wizards prints a "magus of the pod" or something similar without phyrexian mana or "haste".

Also Pod lets you always play on or above curve
