null rod
We have had a lot of success with this card in our cube. But at the same time we push the welder/tinker/tezzeret support, and is it too good? It doesnt have a thread yet and I think it should. I dont really see it in cubes and I'm curious why
It also gives your mishra factories, celestial colonades hexproof. Shuts down thespian stage, titania. Good enough to play if you want to, but I'm not so sure I want to murder the loam deck that already struggles to stay competitive
Rancor is the best aura, but I play elephant guide too. In white I play gryffs boon and angelic destiny. And in red I play splinter twin. Not to mention blues mind control and blacks necromany effects
We had a mono black stax deck win our 8 man tonight. Credit probably most due to 1 to 2 turn of aggro creatures backed by sinkhole and liliana. But smokestack still performs and its a good tool for a competitive deck. Not going anywhere anytime soon. Which is funny because I had braids and stack out for about a year before gravecrawler was printed thinking it was a weak and wasted archtype, but it has been one of our groups favorite decks for a while now.
This is a breakdown of my 3-0 in cube from sept. 2016 to the present. 720 unpowered. Upon requests I can submit some 40 card lists, but its more than I want to type out in the moment.

Titania has been a build around powerhouse and hands down greens best 5 drop. Whether we get an army on their end step off of gargadon, blowout board presence with a cataclysm, wildfire or geddon. Or just get solid value with knight of the reliquary, fetches or extra strip mine plays the card is always at least 10 power for 5 and a land play.
I have about 4 to 5 years worth of 3-0 lists written on paper from our near weekly draft group. I live in a place too rural for the internet so I dont get on the forums too often. But I will start to dump them here
I think they are near equally good. Meren is probably better in midrange mirrors and finality is a better fit for the ramp archtype. And to balance my archtypes giving ramp decks a better tool than midrange is a good choice for me. Because midrange has a lot to play with anyway. Find is also way more splashable, this cards slides into monocolor lists that manage to get a couple fetches and an overgrown tomb, while meren doesnt have that flexibility
Bomat was really lackluster in my testing. Haste is good if you have all the swords. I currently run swiftspear, but noble was good and can easily make it back in if I decide I want 1 more 1 drop
huntsmaster provided you have kird ape and everything isn't 4cmc
Ashen rider. I'd rather support reanimator and sneak attack than midrange, unless all of your WB cards are in WB aggro archetype
1. Frantic search
2. Gifts ungiven. I would make room for gifts if you play unburial rites and life from the loam. Gifts can be fun to build around and have a high ceiling.
Don't play anticipate.
Brainstorm, ponder, preordain, serum visions, and impulse should be enough
Liliana of the veil, it's a solid control breaker, and good in every version of black. I also like picking Griselbrand, but I don't know the consistency or strength of sultai or mardu reanimator in this cube
It's been decent in midrange piles in my cube. Both modes can be good at different times. Took out Meren for it, and it has felt like a good choice. At the same time it's also the first of my 6 GB cards to go when I want to test something else

It's a 720 unpowered. It's pretty fine tuned and features a competitive blend of archtypes. I'll post a list someday. Even though I'm usually testing out 4 or 5 new cards or older benchwarmers at any given time. As sometimes new cards can help older one become more viable
