Maybe, I wouldn't want to cast Burning Inquiry turn 1 and on turn 2 I think Cathartic Reunion is a better option. Although I've never minded Hollow One decks casting it for me ;P
Thank you for the list and link! I think this is where I'm going to start with a new build. Luckily I already have Stoneforge because of Legacy so I may have a new deck for Modern FNM next week!
A color shifted Careful Study would be nice, but the announcement made it clear they want a shift from graveyard decks to fair "battlefield and hand" decks.
On my run this morning, I was considering a build adding Stoneforge Mystic similar to old Legacy Deadguy Ale decks. A package of Sword of Fire and Ice and Batterskull could give us better closing power and the inclusion of Sword of Feast and Famine or Liliana allows for continued disruption into the mid game. Gideon is another possible grindy walker to include.
Many decks have already shifted away from Blood Moon to support Smiting Helix, maybe leaning more into that is a way forward? Maybe we will find a new deck next weekend at SCG Dallas?
Maybe, but two mana and having to discard first makes them clunky for this deck in my opinion.
I immediately thought about Insolent Neonate, but you still have the issues of discarding before drawing...then there is always Burning Inquiry but I don't think we want to randomly throw things back.
I would say the mana base and Life from the Loam. The later is still about $18 even after the reprint in Ultimate Masters.
This mana base may work with check lands and basics; but I think fetches are important for Bloodghast triggers. Painlands may work too with the addition of Creeping Chill.
Maybe this?
3 Mountain
3 Swamp
2 City of Brass
4 Rootbound Crag
3 Dragonskull Summit
4 Prismatic Vista
Lastly, Giant Monster Games made a budget video a few months back, I dont know how effective it is, but here is the link: https://youtu.be/uQq10O515A8
Here is the Jeskai list I came up with. I pretty much copied the UR list, removed Blood Moon and main deck Tormod's Crypt and added Nahiri, the Harbinger. I also like Path to Exile over Lightning Bolt. I don't think we need Bolt as we aren't going to be using it on our opponents, but it's early interaction with creatures. Overall, I think Flame Slash would fit the bill better if you don't want to run White because it deals with problems like Hollow One and Thing in the Ice - Path can also handle one mana, post balance threats like Gurmag Angler. Because I'm running Path, I removed Blood Moon since it doesn't work well together and I think Path is more relevant for removal instead of a "got 'em" with Moon.
My Sideboard is also a work in progress, however, I like the interaction of Tolaria West with Tormod's Crypt and Engineered Explosives. Tutoring up answers is always a powerful thing. Leyline of Sanctity is for Rock and Burn as they can answer our engine or race to win. Wear//Tear, Abraide, and/or Shattering Spree all seem like good answers to artifacts. I picked Wear//Tear as it also answers enchantments but it may be wrong. Anger of the Gods is just an additional sweeper for aggressive decks. I think there may be better sideboard options out there, but this is what I came up with based on what I had handy.
I like the white splash for Nahiri, the Harbinger and Path to Exile but I also like slamming Emmy into play on the cheap. I think Electrodominance has added some new life to an interesting deck and I can't wait to test this at my next FNM.
First, I dont think the London mulligan is a good idea, but I'm waiting for the the actual test results; when you mention you need to review the ban list for cards that could break the mulligan rule it's a bad sign in my opinion. But regarding Izzet Charm, I think Faithless Looting works better as you likely dont need the other two modes too often and the flashback on Looting is relevant. All assuming you're playing the Electro Balance version as both are bad in Cascade Balance builds.
@THUNDERWANG: I havent used Stain the Mind, but it seems to help shore up combo matchups specifically by proactively extracting their key cards. I'm sure that is the primary reason its in the 75.
Jeff Hoogland recently played an interesting brew, here, that transformed into BR Hollow One post board instead of fighting graveyard hate for game 2/3. I think this is an interesting idea and agree that the list needs Narcomoeba. Anyone have thoughts on this?

But on a more serious note, I like how he can allow for instant speed draw to play around Surgical Extraction and the like.

I think these would work better than the cycling dual lands because they still allow a first turn Faithless Looting and provide an extra dredge later.
