I showed to a buddy of mine whose had more experience in the game than I do (He's played 10ish year, me, 1 yearish).. And, he pointed out that this deck has very little ramp, & draw. And no apparent win conditions.. Agree? I like this deck, I think it'd be fun to play but I want some hope of winning. Any thoughts? Suggestions?
I know usual win cons can be cards like Rise of the Dark Realms, Clone Legions, Torment of Hailfire, etc. I'm not really to sure what else but those obvious cards.
I noticed that in a lot of EDH Decks with Gonti, Lord of Luxury as the commander, they also run Praetor's grasp.
Why? Most of the decks I've seen can only generate black mana. They might have Nykthos, Shrine of Nyx in it.
If you take a card using Praetor's grasp, you can't really cast it with just black mana (Unless it's grey or black).. Is it because Praetor's grasp let's you look through their entire deck? And, I mean, you could take key cards and effectively never use them. Is that the idea??

Just wanted to thank you Gelf for this primer. I know it's older, but, still, it really helps us noobs step up our decks. I play against more expereience players, so, to have a nice explanation of the deck sure helps me build the deck, but, play it as well.
I put Growing Rites of Itlimoc in for Gaes cradle, as Gaes cradles is incredibly expensive.
How about Kederekt Leviathan? It's a creature, and a board wipe that bounces creatures ..
And Sakashima??
Also, I know the deck protects Animar, but, what Cloudstone Curio. Seems kinda essential that the artifact stays protected..
