Henkell posted a message on Urza, Lord High Artificer: Paradox Scepter ComboI am in doubt with one thing about Urza plus Paradox Engine: Urza's third ability says "you may play that card", while Paradox Engine triggered ability reads "when you cast a spell". Shouldn't that mean that Paradox Engine does not trigger with a nonland card being played with Urza's third ability?Posted in: Competitive Commander (cEDH)

Henkell posted a message on Phylactery Lich & Lazav, the MultifariousThanks for the explanation. I was a little in doubt because I thought it could be possible that the ability only triggers when a permanent with a phylactery counter leaves the battlefield, and since none would have one it would never trigger, I believed.Posted in: Magic Rulings

Henkell posted a message on Phylactery Lich & Lazav, the MultifariousIf I transform Lazav, the Multifarious into Phylactery Lich, will the lich's triggered ability happen, forcing me to sacrifice Lazav?Posted in: Magic Rulings

Henkell posted a message on Slimefoot, the Stowaway + Phyresis Vs Board WipeIn a scenario where I control a Slimefoot, the Stowaway that is enchanted with Phyresis and a few Saproling tokens, if my opponent casts a board wipe like Wrath of God, will the Slimefoot's triggers deal infect damage or normal damage as it is going to the graveyard along with the aura and tokens?Posted in: Magic Rulings

Henkell posted a message on Rancor Vs Protection From GreenOh, I never knew that a creature dying from damage was a state-based action, but now that you mention it, it seems quite obvious. Thanks!Posted in: Magic Rulings

Henkell posted a message on Rancor Vs Protection From GreenThanks, I was uncertain if State-Based Actions could trigger abilities similar to that or not.Posted in: Magic Rulings

Henkell posted a message on Rancor Vs Protection From GreenIf I have Rancor enchanting a creature, then I give that creature protection from green, that will send Rancor to the graveyard as a State-Based Action. My doubt is, as the Aura is being put in the graveyard as a State-Based Action and not because it was destroyed or the creature it was attached to is no longer on the battlefield, will Rancor still trigger it's ability and go back to my hand?Posted in: Magic Rulings
