With colored artifacts coming back, I hope they reprint my favorite card, tidehollow sculler. I dont really see why this card needed to be an enchantment though. It could of been a colored artifact and do the same things.
The far out idea I have been tossing around the local card shop is the god cards take up a slot in your sideboard(nyx). Each god has a different condition that must be met and you can go and get it out of your side board and put it into play. An example might be the black god requires you to sacrifice 4 creatures during your mainphase, or the green one is having six forests in play. Wishes broke the rules about bringing in cards from outside your deck into play, dont see why they cant do it again.
Also the new sideboarding rule about not needing the full 15 cards in your sideboard so newbs could have their godboard(trademark, copyright) only consist of a couple god cards, might of been a hint.
Having the god cards outside the deck would help keep them in control from things like reanimate effects and show and tell.
And when the god dies, gets exiled or gets shuffled into your deck, it doesnt go to the graveyard, or deck, it goes back to your sideboard(nyx).
I didnt buy any m13 packs, no drafts and only bought noobtusks. This set looks worse then m13. Probably will only buy 4 cards from this set that will come to about $20. Dont plan on drafting and might play one sealed at the pre realease if I wake up before 1pm, this set isnt worth waking up early for. So my local card shop will only get about $55 from me for the next 3-4 months.
Haven't logged-in in a while, but was really looking forward to gatecrash because I am a huge fan of W/B. In my local magic community I am kinda known for it. Looking over the cards in the set I felt a great deal of disappointment. Maybe there are some hidden jems like devour flesh that I will come to like but as it is right now, for a white black player nothing from the set excites me.
I have been looking forward to gatecrash for over a year, but I should of clued into the fact that it would be bad for constructed when deathpact angel was released. I was a huge fan of desolation angel, it is one of my favorite cards, and angel of despair was alright. When they released deathpact angel my heart sunk. Sure it will be good in draft I guess but...
I am just indifferent to the set. It brings about no emotion in me other than disappointment maybe.

I played this deck at provincials and got into to top 8 and lost so I guess I got 6th. I will be straight up, didnt really test this deck before hand and just put a bunch of cards I liked together. My matchups against most decks I found was pretty good except ramp. This deck rolls over to wurmcoil engine I found. I will put my original list up then say what changes I would make to it.
Ok this is the list I ran. I found I sided out the Nantuko shades every game and didnt really work in the deck. I would probably replace them with a set of kalastria highborn's or just put the duress's in that slot. Also would of probably played a full set of doom blades and just run 1 grasp of darkness or another removal spell. If you have any questions about the deck just ask.
I dont like this levelling mechanic. It has been said before but to sink in the amount of mana and time to get a decent creature or ability is ridiculous. If someone spends 3-4 turns just pumping mana into a mediocre creature to get them ultimate or whatever it will be called when they are at the highest level, I will consider them time walking themselves while I play spells and kill the creature when it finally goes ultimate.
Even though this was changed into a B/W midrange thread by the mods I will still post my B/U/W deck here. And about bloodghast, it gives the deck gas late game if you run out of creatures and with so much good removal, it is good to have something that swings almost every turn even if it is killed.
Early game is getting your mana base in order, killing things and countering things. Then start dropping a fatty every turn or two until one or two sticks, and swinging for 2 every once and a while with bloodghast or 3 with creeping tar pit. And I will repeat again I am really liking the 2 of sphinx of lost truth's I am always happy when I draw them late game. It is also fun playing this deck and watching your opponents get annoyed with you drawing extra cards every few turns and countering their blightnings/mind sludges when you dont have a few bloodghasts in your hand you dont mind discarding. I was also thinking about putting a couple sadistic sacrament's in the sideboard. Has any used this card, and if so did you like it?
This is the last iteration of the deck before Worldwake is legal. Used it in an FMN went 3-1. Lost to god cascades from my first jund match and missed top 4 by tie breaks. Really you get terminate off 2 bloodbraid elfs and the bolt off of a Bituminous Blast to kill my baneslayers. If he hit one creature or even a blighting I would of won, the game i wasnt stuck at three lands. But oh well, things like that have happened so often I cant stay mad long.
I really liked the Sphinx of lost truths in the deck. It is great when you bin Bloodghast's, but even if you dont it helps with your hand quality. In a week I will post what the deck will look like post worldwake. The new title may of alluded to an inclusion.
Looks like I found my decks' 4 drop in the newly spoiled Abyssal Persecutor. It will also give the deck some punch so I wont need any Countersquall 's and can run off just Negate's. This is a sample future decklist.
I think the fleshbags, removal and the recursion I run in the deck already will help me find a way to kill the Persecutor when I need to. Also this creature will give the deck a name. Taboo Marriage (On account of the Baneslayers and the Persecutors in the same deck). Now I dont know if this thread should be moved for a short time since I am jamming in cards that are not legal yet in standard.
Infraction issued for Worldwake discussion. The local time is 3:05 PM. The weather is slightly cloudy.
I dont have that much experience with Battlegrace angel but I like the idea of swinging with 3/2 bloodghasts with lifelink once and a while or a 6/6 Baneslayer. I might just give up playing creatures turn 3-4 while I negate other decks best turns with counter and removal.
With all the instant removal in the deck and in the side and soul Manipulation rdw is not a problem. Also I have tried Hexmage in the past but found that Bloodghast was better in that slot.
2 black is easy. 3 black is really hard to hit early game and I usually want to fleshbag at any time I may need it. And I like to recur them with the Soul Manipulation. Man I would love a Shriekmaw.
Countersquall used to be negate but I was finding my manabase was good enough to support it. First game against jund is hard but after siding it is a really decent match-up. Spreading sees is against Valakut and Emeria land decks. And Against Vamps as long as they dont get a mindsludge off it is a good match-up for me.
