I'm glad I finally switched to Modern recently and I'm especially glad that my local game store's meta is pretty good, not too hardcore and lots of fun. Many different styles of decks and homebrew. It's awesome having access to so many cards and play against so many different styles of decks after coming from playing standard the last two years.
I'm really enjoying it, but the most hardcore level I get to is FNM hehe.

I'll root for a Faithless Looting ban until the day it happens. I expect to only see Hogaak targeted bans next week but just maybe Hogaak was enough to make someone at RnD realize Looting has be the thorn in Modern for a very long time now.

I'm also incredibly disappointed that Magic Arena's Historic format got announced with he excitement of a wet fart without any old sets being brought in. I yearn for a new eternal format that isn't kept in a chokehold by the reserved list

I can't tell you how disappointed and sad I am that the new Historic format doesn't have Kaladesh and Amonkhet in it....... I know they basically said "sometime down the line" which sounds like 2 years or something lel..... kill me.

Man... a brand new world, huh? WotC has been pretty thematic with their worlds recently. A lot of them based off of real-life cultures and places. I kind of want something weird though; like a Dune/John Carter world. Also preferably nothing with big ugly spires or hedrons in its artwork. Can we please get some basic lands with actually interesting art?

I agree. I think Kaladesh was the most original recent set they've done. Yeah it had some Indian and "punk" inspired aesthetics, but it was very original compared to everything else they've been doing recently. It's one of my favourite sets and definitely my favourite plane. I particularly love the "swirly" nature and design. All that aether flowing through the air and nature giving it all that special look.
Kaladesh proves that Wizards can design a plane with an original look that's not really inspired by "This is the greek set, this is the egyptian set, this is the old time horror set"
I want to see more stuff like Kaladesh, Zendikar, Phyrexians and stuff like that.

That being said, a Nordic themed set would be cool as ***** and it's ******* ripe with lore, creatures, snow, gods, boats, equipment and archetypes for Wizards to make an awesome set!
And yes! Slap horns and wings on the helmets! So what if it's not historically correct, it looks cool. I'm a giant Danish dude myself and I won't start crying out about it if they have horns on them. Please do put them on!
The only thing I'm worried about is nu-wizards' artwork depictions LOL

That Urza deck looks so sick!

Yep, it looks like Urza, Lord High Artificer is starting to go up a bit after SCG Brian Coval's deck tech and Justin Porches (a player local to me) top 8ing the Dallas Magic Fest.

Honestly, I would be extremely disappointed if a card with Urza didn't kick ass in multiple formats. I mean it's Urza!!

That sounds like a pretty fun idea. Plenty of cards to look up the Cascading Cataracts with and can potentially drop three threats with one activation.
How many Golos would you run. Just one?

How can we activate Golos though? He's a 5 colour dude

I agree with most of your sentiments OP. I'm pretty tired of all the "alpha nerds" in Magic.

    Facepalm

Wizards this will get banned in some formats easily my kozilek deck will break with this

And don’t tell me the new plane is another artifact focused plane with this and steel overseer as hint to that

One can only hope! Smile Standard has a lot of cool enabler cards for colourless/artifact strategies, but lacks the payoff cards like Walking Ballista or the Gearhulks from Kaladesh. Damn I miss Kaladesh Frown

Other than the clunky 4 mana cost, the new Mystic Forge card looks insane!!!

This card is powerful as ****! Very happy to see it since I love colourless/eldrazi/artifact heavy decks Smile
