Tomb Raider is kind of a dead IP in my mind so I'm a little surprised they'd go for it. Then again they did Ponies again. They really could just throw anything out there at this point. Garbage Pail Kids? Rygar? The Rolling Stones?
It's the 10th anniversary of the reboot games. These SLs almost always align with some anniversary.
They missed an opportunity when they didn't make a Beatles secret lair given their last song was released two weeks ago. We missed out on mechanics like "The fab four" if you have all four on the battlefield. The legendary land cycle featuring "The carvern club", "Strawberry fields" and "Pepperland". Legendary artifact equipement "Höfner bass" and "Maxwell's silver hammer". Also the insanely over powered black legendary instant spell called "Wail of the banshee" depicting Yoko Ono screaming in the back while John and Chuck Berry are trying to play.
I would have bought that lol. Completely missed opportunity.
This all reminds me of those weebs who watch anime with little girls because "she's totally not a child! She's actually an 8000 year old dragon wizard cleric!" lol
I mean, the same thing happens in return with Western religious beliefs and mythology. I don't think its strictly just a Western thing. I'd argue that the presence of Angels in Ixalan recently was equally offensive if we take a similar approach. Aztecs don't have claim to Judeo-Christian mythology.
After their forcible conversion to Christianity, I think they have plenty of claim.
I'd rather have an angel forced on to me than having my throat slit by some shaman dude because it's the chieftain's birthday
So much better to be shot by some Spanish dude, right?

That is one of the coolest stifle effects I have ever seen. It stifles then humilitys the permanent
And you know what it saids “artifact” in there so this could be a chase rare all because it can defeat the one ring
The 3 power could also be really good since you'd ideally have one or two merfolk lords down by the time you can cast or vial this in, leaving you with a pretty big creature come next attack phase (and it not dying before then hehe, but you know what I mean)

"Make a mountain of a mole hill, if the mole hill is mine" as Josh sings in one of my favourite Queens of the Stone Age songs
Totally way faster to go that way

"It's totally not a cat you guys!"
lol
