I can't find a reference to Crucible of Worlds having been banned / restricted. I'm not saying that it wasn't; I just can't find the evidence.

The list I posted in the other post was done looking at that link, so no Crucible.

BTW, with Spike you can reach 8 mana in turn 2 in EDH: Turn 1: Sol Ring, Turn 2: Spike (paying 4 life), look for Black Lotus, Dark Ritual (16 life). You can play Ugin or something busted like Crow Storm. Or even if there are no other creatures in the battlefield, you can look for Biorhythm and finish the game.
But it was a banned thing in EDH/Commander and got unbanned in 2009. That seems relevant.

Well, Steamflogger of the Month assembles one contraption for each one you control. And Steamflogger gives you two instead of one whenever a rigger assembles a contraption. So you'd end up with four additional contraptions, for six total.
Alright, awesome. I was figuring it would create that much but I wanted to double check.

Why does the Boss get a black boarder? Aren't they all supposed to be silver?
If I recall correctly, Steamflogger Boss is on the same sheet as the basic lands. Also that it is a reprint.

Force of Will TCG - Your resources are in a separate deck called The Magic Stone Deck.

The Spoils - Cards in your hand could be played facedown as generic/colorless resources.
The Spoils - You started with two free basic resources that didn't have to be the same. (Such as 1x Greed + 1x Violence; or 2x Deception)
The Spoils - In addition to the previous two, each card you wanted to play had a threshold in addition to its cost.

Example for Spoils: I start with 1 Elitism and 1 Greed for resources. Its my first turn. I want to cast an an Elf character who costs 3 generic resources and has one Elitism threshold. So to cast the Elf character, I put a card from my hand facedown, this puts me at 3 resources and I have 1 Elitism which allows me to meet its threshold. I then deplete my resources and cast the elf.

The Spoils - You had to pick between your freebie each turn of "Draw Card or Play Resource". You can pay an amount of additional resources during a turn to draw additional cards and/or play additional resources.

If this was your EDH general, what's the most broken thing you could do? You could have him/her out on turn 2 and get any 4 cards. What do you get? (I guess this assumes your playing EDH with sideboard rules.)

Step 1) Have rocks/lands/creatures/etc that can produce mana of any color OR can filter mana into any color.
Step 2) Fetch Zuran Orb + Fastbond + Crucible of Worlds
Step 3) Cast the three fetched cards when you have the mana.
    Step 4) Gain infinite life
Step 5) Fetch for more banned/restricted cards
    Step 6) ???
    Step 7) Profit

Also the soonest that step 2 can be done is by Turn 1 through a number of methods. The soonest that steps 3-7 can be done is Turn 1.

Also this is done with commander in mind.

Are Conspiracies also on the menu?

Or are they just a nobo anyways?
Conspiracies are usable if in a limited environment, but not in a constructed one. Spike can't grab whats not banned/restricted such as a conspiracy.

How many contraptions would I get if I had Steamflogger Boss, two already assembled contraptions, and a Steamflogger of the Month that enters the battlefield?

When Steamflogger of the Month enters the battlefield, it assembles a Contraption for each Contraption you control. (To assemble a Contraption, put the top card of your Contraption deck onto one of your sprockets.

psycojosho asked: Can Spike, Tournament Grinder get ante cards?

Ante no longer exists, so they aren’t usable.

    November 14, 2017 55 notes
    http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/167488477193/can-spike-tournament-grinder-get-ante-cards

Can someone clarify this for me. From the reply it sounds like the cards aren't unusable since Ante doesn't "exist", or in other words the cards are still tutorable but will do nothing. For example, Darkpact does basically nothing in a game that isn't being played for Ante. But regardless of that, Ante cards are still banned in Vintage. The Vintage B&R list actually names Ante cards in it. So since they are banned from a format, you can still tutor for them.

Also, the Comp. Rules still talk about Ante cards. Unless I am misunderstanding something, Ante still exists.
407.1. Earlier versions of the Magic rules included an ante rule as a way of playing “for keeps.” Playing Magic games for ante is now considered an optional variation on the game, and it’s allowed only where it’s not forbidden by law or by other rules. Playing for ante is strictly forbidden under the Magic: The Gathering Tournament Rules (WPN.Wizards.com/en/resources/rules-documents).
Its optional, like UN-cards. Its forbidden but its not banned/restricted. If you and your friend(s) enable Ante for instance in your kitchen table games, none of the Ante cards are banned/restricted and so Spike can't fetch those cards.

The wording "has been banned" seems weird. Why not used "is banned"?
My guess is so that you don't necessarily have to be up-to-date on the banlist in all formats - say you want to get, I dunno, Black Vise, for some reason, because you know it was banned in Legacy...then someone points out that Vise had been unbanned, so it wasn't actually a legal target anymore, and now you have to scramble to come up with something else (that you own) that's worth paying that cost for at that moment in time, or else Spike just becomes a dead card.

(There's also the ambiguity of Standard bannings: is Reflector Mage still a valid target, because it was banned in Standard at one point, even though it wouldn't be in Standard anymore anyway? Or, hell, what about Arcbound Ravager? That's something that could have gotten an official silver-bordered ruling, but it's another reason that "has been banned" simplifies things.)
Basically the card checks for the following: Has the card ever been banned or restricted in a constructed format? If yes, then you may pay Phyrexian Black Mana Phyrexian Black Mana Phyrexian Black Mana Phyrexian Black Mana to retrieve that card from outside of this game and add it to your hand.

For example: I can retrieve Fastbond, Zuran Orb and Crucible of Worlds from outside the game for 24 life (or less). As all three cards have at some point been restricted or banned in MTG's history. I can't however retrieve specific UN-cards simply because they are not legal instead of being banned/restricted.

If you are allowed to use Spike, Tournament Grinder in EDH then your deck construction should have a lot of mana-fixing cards like Chromatic Lantern or even Undiscovered Paradise. As while you can't include cards with specific colors in the deck, you can however pull cards from outside the game and add them to your hand. Such as being able to fetch and play Worldfire even though its banned and Spike is mono-black.
