while as good as it may seem, you can actually be 2 for 1'ed with this thing.
they remove or destroy the artifact which has a phylactery counter on it while simultaneously getting rid of the 5/5 zombie.
i hope the blue mages dont whine anymore as this card really tests playskills and considering the "drawback" it can create CA when paired with halimar depths.
this would help UW control against the current meta's fast clock.
in all honesty in my testing this deck certainly is strong.
a 4th turn mind sludge spells doom for most decks
and tendrils and all in dust can get you to many advantageous heights.
nirkana revenant is certainly powerful. as an AiDs followed by her spells doom to the opponent and if you manage to sludge before those scenarios, either the opponent is forced to block or it would spell game.
as of the moment im still testing the deck. it certainly is powerful.
not too sure about that. RDW can kill vamps way before vamps can cast tendrils. and very few decks run tendrils, urge to feed is the way to go. and nighthawk almost always meets a bolt when it drops. though, i'm not saying vamps always loses to RDW. based on my experience, RDW has a good matchup against vamps.
uh no
srsly you are no vamps player
urge loooooolzzz
that card is easily outshined by disfigure
you do know that when nighthawk eats a bolt it buys time for the deck to cast tendrils lol
hexmage screws rdw btw. so does a simple bloodwitch.
and you mention experience.. srsly you dont have the right to say those statements. they are null and invalid.
Just no. The UrzaTrons were already broken enough, giving tons of card advantage in every land you play. Cabal Coffers single-handedly made MBC one of the best decks -- just think, what did you have back then in MBC that you no longer have now?
Corrupt -> Consume Spirit/Tendrils
Skeletal Scrying -> Sign in Blood/Ad Nauseum
Edict -> Gatekeeper
We still have Tutor and even Duress + Mind Sludge.
All these tools are there, but without the super-efficient mana an MBC-wannabe has to compromise with lower-costed cards. Which is how it should be, as black is already quite competitive now. The Gatekeeper and the Nighthawk are about all that black can ever hope for.
Though six mana is harsh for the Coffer's effect; it's a huge jump from Coffer's zero. I'd be happier with her if she was a 3-mana non-shade 1/1. But if you still play Nightmare (I do), it's time to boot the horse and welcome the new beatstick.
mutilate? its not in standard.. and thats what made MBC viable back then.
basically maintain or preserve board presence by playing the vampire tribe bloodghast, kalastria highborn, gatekeeper of malakir and friends, then make up for removals in highborn and pawn of ulamog.. power it all up with this shade then throw in the eldrazi gods.

worst case scenario - vampire hexmage pwns this beast.
if this is true then the price will go down right?
it would certainly help me get a couple of those for myself.
and it could help me reenter standard again and build a jace control of mine.
depends.. i think drana may prove to be just right.
i mean it can has the potential to kill a baneslayer and swing for 9 while bloodwitch just holds it off.
a singleton in vamps may be the right choice as of the moment.
im very happy that mono black vamps now has answers for EVERYTHING.
looks like Rise of the Eldrazi will give the "Rise of the Vampires" feel for the meta.
so you counter a non-threat creature that way and in that scenario?
do you know a card by the name of DoJ?
and you troll me with a skyfisher?
well i guess your statement says it all..
im not saying this is excellent but what im saying is this is a GOOD blue spell.
as what i have said, it tests one's skills.
playing this turn2 might be a downside. but as the game goes on it gets better and better.
think of this as PtE. early plays make screw you
this would help UW control against the current meta's fast clock.
monoblack vamps is much more superior to br vamps
a mind sludge is better than blightning against control. and tendrils of corruption just gets there.
this creature is made for Eldrazi green. its either a t2 5/5 or very early eldrazi monument..
dont make things complicated people. and to those who are saying its crappy and too random. Eldrazi green is the deck which will house this as a 4-of.

my list

4 tendrils of corruption
3 disfigure
3 All in dust
3 duress
3 mind sludge
2 consume spirit

Infraction for spam / flaming
lol be our guest.
rant all you want. wizards is in control.
and to the blue mages who rant, there's 4 OTHER COLORS in magic.
mutilate? its not in standard.. and thats what made MBC viable back then.
realms uncharted and now THIS.
this would certainly make aggro decks much more deadly.
eldrazi elves certainly now is a powerhouse and would finally be a part of the tier 1 decklists.
not to mention there's pawn of ulamog in ROE.
this makes sense for a Monoblack Eldrazi deck.
