Basically you power out a turn 3 Etali, I think this could be pretty good, against control side in Chandra, Torch of defiance power her out turn three and just get her to the emblem on turn 6. I know i'm still missing something in the deck, was thinking some Seismic Shift to keep the opponent off balance and let Etali get though when i swing in with him turn 4.
This is an all or nothing strategy, but i guess that's why it's called all in goblins. I need some help crafting a non t1 prospector strategy. That's why I have 4 chainwhirlers. I also looked at current red deck archtypes and built my spell base around that.
This is also a SUPER budget deck, no dual lands, and chainwhirlers and chandra's for the sideboard are really the only investment I would have to make if i built this. If theres some insane money card i'm missing i would be glad to hear it.
I think something can be done with skirk prospector playhim t1, play some goblins, then play something insane like Etali, Primal storm or Hazoret's undying furty turn 4 have the other decent goblins, just make a bunch of goblins and do something crazy, this is an all or nothing deck, it either works or it doesn't,but should i splash another color for some stuff that red can't do? I tried to make a decklist but I don't know if this could work, any tips?
the general idea is bestow creatures, low cost boros aggro cretures, and token makers, and get three guys out, give tajic flying or trample, and attack for commander damage and try to win that way.

Is Bishop of rebirth distracting me? I have noticed that lily reanimating Zetalpa happens more often then i thought it would, so should I drop her and just run 4 lily's?

So I had a lot of fun with sun titan back in the day, so bishop of rebirth is very appealing to me, i want to build a deck around him, I want to recreate that great feeling I got playing Solar flare. So I want to build an esper control deck with recusion, heres the spell list I have. I am not a control player, I am an aggro player, so control is weird to me, I need some help building the manabase. I usually play 2 colors so a three color deck is new to me, heres the list I have so far
So it's basically control the early game, Get back Champion of wits and fairgrounds warden with Bishop, then reanimate something disgusting with lily, final parting or if I have baral out Primevals glorious rebirth and get ALL the legendaries. Zetpal seems to be the best reanimator target so I have him as a 3 of.
What should my manabase be for this, I really like checklands I feel like I need a lot of islands to make this work, and the cycle lands could add to this, what is the best possible manabase this could use. how many fatties do i need. I have 4 Champions to put stuff in the yard, (and they can also recur themselves) do I need to buy some Vraskas Contempt I have money I can buy whatever I need. Baral is mainly there because I have a lot of counters and he can put something in the yard and he's the only non revival legendary I have to cast Primeval. That's why primeval is a one of. Recollection is there as a snapcaster substitute, so I can grab a counterspell or kill spell back but I don't think it's that good so I am willing to let that go but if I find room for vraska's contempt that could be awesome.
Am I missing a better reanimate spell? Liliana seems to be the best route to go, because she can fill the yard and make a token to protect her. Dominaria is going to shake things up though, so I don't know how to prepare for it.
I also feel like I'm lacking some dominaria cards what can I put from Dominaria into this? will God pharos still be a thing, because I think some Cast Out could be good in the sideboard

I'm also afraid of control, I don't know how to handle a control mirror, Duress of course, Kambal, Consul of Allocation comes to mind, I can Rebirth off of him, and he hurts control players so maybe put him in the deck
Then finishers like Thorn Elemental I know this isn't a good card...But I started playing magic in 7th edition, that the beginner set had this card, and i thought it was AWESOME so this card has a special place in my heart so if I play green this will be at least a one of. Grunn, the lonely king (5/5 kicked into a 10/10 that doubles his attack)
Now there are a good green cards here, so I think that will be the main color
But I also want to add Black, mainly for better removal options...and this guy

Right now my biggest worry is fumigate, I build my board, have all these mana producers, then he just fumigates, and if it's post Vess he gains a ton of life. What do I do against this? I deal with a lot of control in my meta, I think I can beat settle the werckage because it will give me land and i probably wont be attacking with my dorks so I can Kick Vess and come back from it, but fumigate just wrecks me. What is the green/black solution to fumigate
Okay looking at things to try to make this work, I'm thinking less control and more of an aggressive deck built around legionaries keep aggro decks stalled out by trading/chumping with beefy low cost legendaries, search for azcanta to put fatties in the yard, and then close out with Primeval.
but what about control, i feel like they'll just counter/kill everything i have, but then when I go for Primeval they will counter it and i'll be screwed.

I really want to brew around this card, I'm thinking an Esper control shell, that puts Elder Dinosaurs in the yard and controls until i either go off with mox amber and baral, cheif of compliance on turn 5 or liliana, deaths majesty to bring back one. It's a control re animator deck and I also want to stuff it with walkers to take advantage of their new legendary typing
Can this work? I don't usually play control, but the few times I have i really liked Esper, the problem is getting them in the yard strategic planning and champion of wits seem to be the go toos
And I'm also worried about the control mirror, whenever I play my reanimator, be it lily or Primeval they will just counter it,
Looking for something to brew around, I'm usually the aggro player, (I'm known for having some of the fastest decks in my local standard meta) Looking for a card to brew around and Primevals' glorious rebirth caught my eye
Counter-Kill-Wipe, throw stuff in your yard, and hold off until aggro or red burn out then cast the Rebirth and put an elder dinosaur or 2 or 3 on the field.
So I went to an LGS that has legacy proxy night, went in with goblins, lost, hard. I saw some wild stuff, Marit lange on turn 3, elves, burn, infect

I was thinking an esper control shell with emphasis on self mill, tutoring, and control, I just have a rough outline of this deck the idea is to tutor laboratory maniac, tutor a piece that can drain my library leveler or demonic consultation combo off and gitaxian probestreet wrait or another draw spell and just win outright.
So far I just have a rough idea of what i want in this deck, basically put up a control shell until i can tutor and get my combo pieces all lead by Lady Evangela she's the best control shard (IMHO) cost 3, and shuts down commander damage, Any suggestions?

Constricter with splash blue, got close but just didn't get the draws, and he just over ran me with 6/6's and 5/5's and in G3 I went Conquistador, Aetherborne (Got pushed) Aetherborne (Got pushed) and he drew another push and that was pretty much it for me

Ramunamp Red
New player, didn't really know how to pilot it, but he had the expensive cards, got me close but once sanctum starts the lifegain engine theres just no way he could catch up. 2-0
Match three
Grixis Pirates Sided wrong because i killed him so fast in G1 i thought he was playing control so I took out pushes, he was playing alot of steal cards, hostage taker, kitesail, That black card from kaladesh got my twilight prophet, sided back the pushes and went 2-1

God Pharoh's gift
G1, killed him really fast
G2, he went off killed me in one turn with combat celebrant chaining, got him down to 1 but he had angel of intervention so even if i did survive he was back up to like 12 also I thought that eternalized tokens had no CMC so i kept pushes in, found out i was wrong the hard way
G3, He referbished, and i immediately casted out GPG (two copies sided in) sanctum seeker, turn dudes sideways, 2-1
Sanctum Seeker IS this he is responsible for 3/4ths of my wins.
Andanto Vangaurd is awesome, the 4 life is nothing to you because he's going to trigger Mavren and give you more lifelinkers, and once seeker is out you're going to gain 4 life a turn
Deck is really playing well, once of the best I've ever made, the sideboard needs work though, Should I slip a solemnity or 2 into it, I have room to cull. Right now it's this
Bishop of the bloodstained I feel is very underratted, if you t4 seeker into t5 bishop, you're dealing like 8-10 damage before combat even takes place, and you may be thinking "Why not just run a 4th seeker" I feel it's worth it as a 1 of because It's one extra damage because he count's himself, that one extra damage means alot, lets you extend your alpha strike another point by letting sanctum himself attack if that one extra point can get you leathal. I feel like it's a debate we should have, like I said i just run a 1 off of him. (Also I have won a game by twilight prophet ripping him off the top for 5 damage)
Sheffet Dunes is awesome won me a game, the black desert is useless, i'm cutting it, and probably going to three shefet dunes when... You know what... comes out
Twilight prophet goes online about 2/3'rds of the time she lands and when she does you're probably going to win, I have one in deck, i have another, should i find a place for her? maybe in SB, what matches is she good in?

Looking for a rouge deck, don't want to net deck, and I thought about Athreos, God of Passage and how to build a deck around him, my basic idea is Sac things that give me benefit and force my opponent to either give me them back to sac again, or lose 3 life and control them though that or chip away at them. I don't have a decklist and I'm just putting this thread out to see if anyone has suggestions

I think I'm onto something here, but I need a win condition, something where I lay it out and I just win, the problem is they have a choice, lose my guy or let my guy get +2/+2, I think theres something in forcing my opponent to make that choice, because if they choose that, they lose 5,
Add Fatal Push and oblivion ring to deal with threats but i feel like it's weak to combo and eldrazi, and I haven't even started to get my head around how to beat tron. I want to keep it to two colors so I don't have to spend too much on manabase, but if you see another color that could help I'd totally be open
any suggestions?

What kind of support do I need, you can't just fatal push all your problems, affinity is a sticky situation, as is tron, is there another color i could splash in this to really make it sing, i tried looking for red cards but they want you to sacrifice goblins so it's hard to use with this deck. T1 0 cost, keep a swamp up to push something, T2 Aristocrat or Hopper, T3 Aethros and start saccing and hitting in for maybe 5, it just doesn't seem fast enough, I need more control, I'm just brainstorming here, would love input
Okay So I have a bit of an asterisk, there were only 8 people there, and my first round was against a "Scrub" new to the game, only been playing a few weeks, had a 90 card deck, beat him pretty easily.
Round 2 was against Standard Boogles, things got a little scary, but a deck built around just building up one guy when I have 6-7 guys attacking gave me a real advantage.
Round 3 was the REAL match of the night, a control player who wins alot in the charlotte meta, BW control, not second sun, just a control, gearhulk deck I went 2-1 against him because I got greedy and over attacked into an obvious Settle the Wreckage
It was an easy night, it's not like I'm at the Pro Tour, but It's my first ever FNM win and It just felt really good, so I thought I would make a thread.
So heres my list, I've put alot of thought into this but I know it still needs work.

So Viscous Conquistador is an all star, a 2/2 for B, I perfer Duskborne Skymarcher to the 2/1 because having flying early lets you trigger Mavren and it's pump ability comes in useful a lot, protecting Viscous so it can keep pinging though for one, or letting Mavren attack without worrying about losing your token generator.
I'm thinking of running more Dusk Legion Zealot Especially against control, I played him twice and both times that extra card really helped me even though he was only a 1 of when i played tonight, so i bumped him to two in the sideboard. You need card advantage when you play control and I think he can help.
Gideon is there for Approach but i'm thinking of cutting him if you guys can tell me something better, i really want to run dispossess for gearhulk
Duress can just ruin control decks, (I play a lot of control decks in my meta so I got to be prepared for them)
Cast out or binding? I think Binding might be better, but I don't have any...so maybe i should pick them up, because as a heavy aggro deck I tap out every turn anyway so theres no point in having flash.
Gifted Aetherborne for hexproof and things that are hard to kill, plus it's lifelink really helps out
I cut to three fatal pushes because this deck wins on playing lots of threats, really fast, and just over running your opponent, I put the forth push in the sideboard in case i face another heavy aggro deck.
I'm thinking of putting a swamp or two in my sideboard for when I side against control, because I would usually put in duress and zealot, and take out fatal push and adnato vangaurd so my deck leans heavy to black or if I have to side in gifted aetherborne, more heaviness on black, lots of my sideboard cards lean heavy to black
I didn't run into too many mana problems, should I drop Ifnir dreadlands? I shefet dunes has won me multiple games, effectively doubling my attack power, but I have never used Ifnir dreadlands, would swamps suffice? I feel life gain in this deck negates the cost of playing a desert so it's just something that's nice to have.
Should I bump to four sanctum seekers, this guy finishes games, I only had 3 so that's why I only ran three, but in the packs I won I cracked a 4th one, so should I find room for him? What about bishop of the bloodstained I run a one of of him to just come down and finish the game but would the deck be better with a 4th seeker? bishop does one extra damage because he counts himself
Also Frontrunner really did some work for me, I found a Mavren (because I already had seeker in my hand) so i was able to pump out tokens, and attack with Mavren because he could pump mavren and protect him when I attacked and made a token. Frontrunner can just grab you a win condition.
Have a good board, grab seeker
Need to just get in and kill them, grab bishop
Grindy game and you need consistent damage, grab twilight prophet
Should I bump him to two? what should I drop for him?

New player, didn't really know how to pilot it, but he had the expensive cards, got me close but once sanctum starts the lifegain engine theres just no way he could catch up. 2-0

Grixis Pirates Sided wrong because i killed him so fast in G1 i thought he was playing control so I took out pushes, he was playing alot of steal cards, hostage taker, kitesail, That black card from kaladesh got my twilight prophet, sided back the pushes and went 2-1

G1, killed him really fast
G2, he went off killed me in one turn with combat celebrant chaining, got him down to 1 but he had angel of intervention so even if i did survive he was back up to like 12 also I thought that eternalized tokens had no CMC so i kept pushes in, found out i was wrong the hard way
G3, He referbished, and i immediately casted out GPG (two copies sided in) sanctum seeker, turn dudes sideways, 2-1
Sanctum Seeker IS this he is responsible for 3/4ths of my wins.
Andanto Vangaurd is awesome, the 4 life is nothing to you because he's going to trigger Mavren and give you more lifelinkers, and once seeker is out you're going to gain 4 life a turn
Deck is really playing well, once of the best I've ever made, the sideboard needs work though, Should I slip a solemnity or 2 into it, I have room to cull. Right now it's this
Bishop of the bloodstained I feel is very underratted, if you t4 seeker into t5 bishop, you're dealing like 8-10 damage before combat even takes place, and you may be thinking "Why not just run a 4th seeker" I feel it's worth it as a 1 of because It's one extra damage because he count's himself, that one extra damage means alot, lets you extend your alpha strike another point by letting sanctum himself attack if that one extra point can get you leathal. I feel like it's a debate we should have, like I said i just run a 1 off of him. (Also I have won a game by twilight prophet ripping him off the top for 5 damage)
Sheffet Dunes is awesome won me a game, the black desert is useless, i'm cutting it, and probably going to three shefet dunes when... You know what... comes out
Twilight prophet goes online about 2/3'rds of the time she lands and when she does you're probably going to win, I have one in deck, i have another, should i find a place for her? maybe in SB, what matches is she good in?
So that's my report, this deck is really being good to me, I can't belive i beat God Pharos Gift that felt really good.

Looking for a rouge deck, don't want to net deck, and I thought about Athreos, God of Passage and how to build a deck around him, my basic idea is Sac things that give me benefit and force my opponent to either give me them back to sac again, or lose 3 life and control them though that or chip away at them. I don't have a decklist and I'm just putting this thread out to see if anyone has suggestions

Ornithropter or memnite 0 mana sac them, maybe get them back with 3 damage and play them for free
Cartel Aristocrat Get protection when i sac a guy he gets protection and hits in for 2
Dross Hopper Again, get in for 2 and sac a 0 mana guy to him

Thoughtpicker witch stop storm after they serum visions along with fatal push for their enabalers
Viscera Seer Sac engine for 1, dig, again use ornithropter
Fume Spitter Kills BOB, kills snap, kills alot of guys, and I could get him back

Augur Il'Vec Good against burn pay 3 life or i gain another 4
Bloodthrone Vampire not as good as aristocrat or hopper, but if he's unwilling to let me get my 0 guys back he'll become up to a 5/5 for a turn
Raise Dead If i had to sac a 0 cost before I had Athreos i can get him back
I think I'm onto something here, but I need a win condition, something where I lay it out and I just win, the problem is they have a choice, lose my guy or let my guy get +2/+2, I think theres something in forcing my opponent to make that choice, because if they choose that, they lose 5,
Add Fatal Push and oblivion ring to deal with threats but i feel like it's weak to combo and eldrazi, and I haven't even started to get my head around how to beat tron. I want to keep it to two colors so I don't have to spend too much on manabase, but if you see another color that could help I'd totally be open
any suggestions?

What kind of support do I need, you can't just fatal push all your problems, affinity is a sticky situation, as is tron, is there another color i could splash in this to really make it sing, i tried looking for red cards but they want you to sacrifice goblins so it's hard to use with this deck. T1 0 cost, keep a swamp up to push something, T2 Aristocrat or Hopper, T3 Aethros and start saccing and hitting in for maybe 5, it just doesn't seem fast enough, I need more control, I'm just brainstorming here, would love input

Round 2 was against Standard Boogles, things got a little scary, but a deck built around just building up one guy when I have 6-7 guys attacking gave me a real advantage.
Round 3 was the REAL match of the night, a control player who wins alot in the charlotte meta, BW control, not second sun, just a control, gearhulk deck I went 2-1 against him because I got greedy and over attacked into an obvious Settle the Wreckage
It was an easy night, it's not like I'm at the Pro Tour, but It's my first ever FNM win and It just felt really good, so I thought I would make a thread.
So heres my list, I've put alot of thought into this but I know it still needs work.

So Viscous Conquistador is an all star, a 2/2 for B, I perfer Duskborne Skymarcher to the 2/1 because having flying early lets you trigger Mavren and it's pump ability comes in useful a lot, protecting Viscous so it can keep pinging though for one, or letting Mavren attack without worrying about losing your token generator.
I'm thinking of running more Dusk Legion Zealot Especially against control, I played him twice and both times that extra card really helped me even though he was only a 1 of when i played tonight, so i bumped him to two in the sideboard. You need card advantage when you play control and I think he can help.
Gideon is there for Approach but i'm thinking of cutting him if you guys can tell me something better, i really want to run dispossess for gearhulk
Duress can just ruin control decks, (I play a lot of control decks in my meta so I got to be prepared for them)
Cast out or binding? I think Binding might be better, but I don't have any...so maybe i should pick them up, because as a heavy aggro deck I tap out every turn anyway so theres no point in having flash.
Gifted Aetherborne for hexproof and things that are hard to kill, plus it's lifelink really helps out
I cut to three fatal pushes because this deck wins on playing lots of threats, really fast, and just over running your opponent, I put the forth push in the sideboard in case i face another heavy aggro deck.
I'm thinking of putting a swamp or two in my sideboard for when I side against control, because I would usually put in duress and zealot, and take out fatal push and adnato vangaurd so my deck leans heavy to black or if I have to side in gifted aetherborne, more heaviness on black, lots of my sideboard cards lean heavy to black
I didn't run into too many mana problems, should I drop Ifnir dreadlands? I shefet dunes has won me multiple games, effectively doubling my attack power, but I have never used Ifnir dreadlands, would swamps suffice? I feel life gain in this deck negates the cost of playing a desert so it's just something that's nice to have.
Should I bump to four sanctum seekers, this guy finishes games, I only had 3 so that's why I only ran three, but in the packs I won I cracked a 4th one, so should I find room for him? What about bishop of the bloodstained I run a one of of him to just come down and finish the game but would the deck be better with a 4th seeker? bishop does one extra damage because he counts himself
Also Frontrunner really did some work for me, I found a Mavren (because I already had seeker in my hand) so i was able to pump out tokens, and attack with Mavren because he could pump mavren and protect him when I attacked and made a token. Frontrunner can just grab you a win condition.
Have a good board, grab seeker
Need to just get in and kill them, grab bishop
Grindy game and you need consistent damage, grab twilight prophet
Should I bump him to two? what should I drop for him?
