This product is aimed at dudes like me who absolutely loved the complex, nuanced limited environment that TSP block was, as well as a desire to see newer cards in old frames. I've already pre-ordered two boxes to draft with the homies.

As far as value goes, last I checked Mana Tithe was worth a couple bucks, porphyry nodes was a couple.

If they don't print Damnation, gemstone caverns, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Sliver Legion, Tarmogoyf, akroma's memorial, man... there's so many good reprintables in the block.

I don't know what y'all are complaining about.

Sell your Uro's now at buylist, flip into new border ones and get two extra titans? Seems good to me.

    They won't do it.

When coldsnap camp out, they included the reprint Frozen Solid and there was a big long discussion about why they "can't" change the functionality of cards that much. Same thing came up when tribal spells were introduced.

I feel like dead of winter would have had the snow super type if they wanted it to- were they designing Kaldheim in the final stages of MH or has it been that long since MH?

I'm with you. I would love to see them drop snow on a bunch of appropriate cards, but they're very cautious with the snow supertype.

So instead of Valla, Immursturm is now on Kaldheim?

I bet they retcon it like this:
Immersturm is named in honor of the city of Immersturm on the plane of Valla where the gods of Kaldheim live.

Also, those arts look like dual land arts. The first 5 even look to be in order (WU/UB/BR/RG/GW)

Uncommon scry draw that gives you back the mana you spent if your topend is the right tribe / changeling. (and it's ramp in that case) Seems reasonable.

Lorwyn had giants in white-red, but why were they white at that time? I don't remember but given that they don't like white having big creatures at common, moving giants from white into blue makes a lot of sense even before you consider the frost giant trope.

Will we see a tribal-oriented jeskai giant for commander?

I know that’s the mistake with making giants izzet now the giant tribal legend needs to be jeskai now

oh by the way she had some music files wizards gave her decoded to actually be images so we need those posted too

For those of us with bad vision:

    Sarulf, Realm Eater 1BG
    Legendary Creature - Wolf
Whenever a permanent an opponent controls is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on Sarulf, Realm Eater.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if Sarulf has one or more +1/+1 counters on it, you may remove all of them. If you do, exile each other nonland permanent with converted mana cost less than or equal to the number of counters removed this way.
    3/3

I'm guessing this strictly better Pernicious Deed on legs is supposed to be the Fenrir stand-in. I'm guessing it's the Wizards email spoiler.

I'm not sure this is that comparable to Pernicious Deed my guy. Can't bolt deed. Can't activate the wolf the turn it's played. And can't dump mana into it to wipe the board.

Cool legendary, nice synergy with the old wolf trope of fighting creatures Master of the Hunt but Pernicious Deed it is not.

I don't give a motha fawk about a triple post that Kraken of the Abyss is the perfect name for a sea monster and I absolutely ADORE the bioluminescence effect on a sea monster FINALLY which I have been longing to see. I love the art on it damn it, don't even care about its effect, what a perfect depiction of what I want my deck to represent. I adore this freaking card. Can you imagine returning Nykthos or Cradle after combat and replay it with the legendary serpent, or exploration, explore etc out and then get even more mana in main phase 2 to drop more massive Thassa babies? Freaking sign me the hell up and back sis

    Someone's excited. Smile

So for all those of you talking about a time-spiral like time warp -

Time spiral essentially retconned the MTG story to make all the "old walkers" (including us players) jive with the New World Order in storyland. The whole mending and such was used to basically negate all the old stories (like "Arena) and allow them to coexist in the MTG story.

I doubt they'll F$%^ with time like they did there again.

Khans kind of comes to mind, but that was a block about an inflection point in time and didn't span as large of a time period, so I don't see them doing anything besides maybe bringing Kamigawa to the contemporary timeline in the "planarverse."

I have also heard about this Castlevania crossover from somewhere...

As long as they keep it to promos like the Godzilla stuff, I'm ok with it.

God forbid we allow land destruction... That might be super relevant in today's standard.

This can easily be solved if reliable answers from days of yore were reprinted with earnest. Remember M11 standard? Bolt was there. Were there any out-of-control decks at the time? Not that I can recall. At least they brought Disenchant back over Naturalize...

This is also a telling sign of the neglect WotC has put into the designing of standard-level sets and focusing too much on auxiliary products. But that's the result of having so many formats that require product support. They reap what they sow...

Can't stop singing it. You had me until the last bit.

But I'd still rather just play middle school.

I too have been playing for a while and I remember darker times my guy.

Urza's Saga and it's block wrecked power levels. Memory Jar was banned from almost the moment it was printed.

Mirrodin was also wild times with a whole bunch of cards being banned.

The Stoneblade days of standard were miserable.

This past year or two have been almost as bad, but at least there's some competitors out there. I'm not gonna say it's not bad, but we've seen Wizard's bring the game back from the brink before (in both directions- remember Fallen Empires and Homelands?) and I have faith they'll do it again.

Which game is it that you can play cards as "lands" or "spells"? My little pony? Rage? Yu-gi-oh?

I can't remember. But it's a gigantic mechanical shift. The land ratio thing has always been a weakness of magic. Odd time to fix it. That's what I meant.
