That looks pretty darn awesome. Mind if i throw a couple questions at you?
How do you clear the card?
Do you sell them? That might be a decent market for you.
Do you do re-creates of other cards as full length like the zendikar lands? *Snip*

I use acetone to clear the cards after taping the borders. I've gone through several slightly different processes to make sure the cards come out sharp and with no bumps on the surface from the ink, and I think I've gotten it down pretty well. I also do a light clear coat at the end to protect the markers from repeated sleeving/unsleeving.
I do not do recreates of other lands, as I want to use original art on all of them -When I do trade multiples (as in all) of the same card I give people the option of 'retiring' the set, which means I make them however many of the same land they want and then do not draw that picture anymore.
Hello! My name is Kerry and I have been altering foil basic lands in what I believe is a pretty unique way. I clear the picture and text box completely and redraw the art with markers, not paints. This results in some really cool looking cards. Please let me know what you guys think!
Thanks! Yes, all sharpies (or permanent markers, I use a couple BIC brand because of the color). I tape off the borders and acetone the center of the card, and the parts of the border I want to overlap. Then I just draw with sharpies. I use a brush and some rubbing alcohol for different effects. I'm still learning how to effectively use the medium but I'm enjoying it so far.
How's it going? I haven't played magic for a few years, but recently got back into it, and also got interested in altering cards again. I decided to try my luck with some foil cards. I've been using sharpies for these, and need to go get some very fine tip ones to finish the details. Please let me know what you think.
EDIT: Here are some videos showing their foil properties. I have done a few now.
Ah, I see. I've been playing mtgo mostly for the past year or so, so I don't recall. In any case, I think that if your opponent is not aware of these triggers, they should be made aware. Just as a common courtesy. Especially at FNM, where people aren't necessarily on top of things like that. I can understand not announcing any of these triggers in a larger tournament.
Honestly if I or my opponent was playing with an exalted card on the board, I'd expect them to announce the trigger upon attacking. Though it is both people's responsibility to make sure this happens. It takes less than 1 second, and it will eliminate any confusion. It's your responsibility if you're playing in tournaments.
A former store manager of mine built this deck for fun back in the Mirr/Kami T2 era. He only got it once in the opening hand, but thankfully it wasn't on me :).
This happened to me in an FNM. I was on the play, and I had even played a 1 drop, but I didn't block, since I was sure he didn't have it. I was wrong.
A friend of mine in WA did that to me once in a FNM. I was first, and played either lions or isamaru, and he swung. I decided he didn't have the combo and didn't block. Lost that game.
It should be noted that bazaar is not great. but its purpose is just an easy discard outlet, ichorid aside. To be perfectly honest, cursed scroll is not fantastic anymore either. Its very good late game, but its so terrible early game...
And just to point it out, that whole draw 5 cards thing is not correct at all. If the graveyard is as accessible (which in most decks, is not true. Welder only touches a few cards, and you only use yawgmoth's will once, alot of the time cards in graveyards are just placeholders waiting for will, translated, not nearly as accessible!), then it just reads draw two cards... you already had the 3 you discarded. seeming as you didn't catch this earlier (whoever called the last guy out who said it was wrong), I'll walk you through it. lets assume you do this turn 1:
7 cards in hand,
play bazaar, 6 cards in hand,
activate bazaar, draw 2 (8 cards in hand)
discard 3 (5 cards in hand, 3 cards in GY)
assuming we count the cards in GY as cards in hand (which we wouldn't except for ichorid really. otherwise they're like 1/2 cards or 1/4 cards, but anyways),
then we still have 8 cards. Taking away the bazaar left us with 6 cards in hand originally when we used it. 8-6 = 2, not 5...
The only time the draw 5 analogy ALMOST works, as previously pointed out, is discarding ichorid cards, because they are dead in your hand. but even then, its really only draw 3, because you are still stuck with 2 in your hand... Unless you happen to draw unmask + black card, both off the top, discarding 3 graveyard cards that were previously in your hand. THEN it works... phew.. kind of a bad analogy still...
EDIT: it did work as draw 5 (in an abstract sort of way) occasionally in a u/g madness deck back in the day... but that's still rare..
Lots of the cards that you want to discard have dredge. That is going to result in a lot more cards in the graveyard during the next turn.
In this format there's nothing he can play without spending mana for it, which is helpful to know, because then all you have to concentrate on is the board if your opponent is tapped out.
Unless your opponent has a forest and a plains in play for Qasali Ambusher.
This is one of the coolest things I've seen in this forum yet. I like watching each player make their picks and their reasoning. I wish some more people here would comment on the picks of each player though. Keep it up.

Hopefully getting your money back is quick, and the seller has a real hard time dealing with it..

I opened one box of RTR and was happy to get 6 shocks in it.
Another foil basic land. Done with sharpies. The video shows how it reflects: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfmRlapcRh0
