Those are great combos. I know about the midnight guard+presence of gond never had a deck to use it in, but now that you reminded me i am making a commander deck with Ghave, guru of spores that will be perfect. Thank you
Altar of the Brood one of my favorite cards. I started playing magic in 2017 again after stopping in 2004 because the usual, someone stole all my cards. I played an elf, squirrel tokens. When i started playing again i picked up saproling tokens because i found Mycoloth. My modern deck has 4 of them with helm of the host and its soon to be 3 because i am including Bloodspore thrinax.
To the point in my modern deck i use 4 Altar of the Brood. I found this digging around and it has worked wonders in my Token deck. It has won 1v1s and 4v4. The most this card has managed to mill people for was in a 4v4 and everyone had to mill 160 cards at once. There were 2 44/44 Mycoloth and a Parallel lives on the field. They were not happy. The group allowed me to use my modern deck since they all wanted to play commander and i do not have one as of this moment.
What are other opinions, combos, or questions on this card?
Hope the topic is still open. I use this in my modern token deck and I rip 1v1 and multiplayer. My favorite one is a commander game I played with my modern deck and milled everyone for 160 cards at once.
I usually play modern and my playgroup suddenly wants to only do commander. I played my 60 against there commander so i wouldn't have to make one but after one game and making the whole group mill 180 at once, they won't let me do that anymore.
I chose Ghave, Guru of Spores to stick with saprolings seen his abilities, and thought i would throw some Hydras in there. I have always wanted to play with Hydras thought they would be mix well....... What i didn't realize is Ghave, combos with absolutely everything.
So i would like some extra help tuning it up to be competitive. I have received a couple tips, i adjusted to what they said now i need help tuning up. I want this deck to be competitive, and no i don't mind if they hate the deck. They already hate my token decks.
There is somethings i didn't throw in because the deck is already 250+ but do not let that stop yall from throwing out ideas. I have been wanting to do some tournaments. There is also reasons for some of the cards. They might not be the most intelligent of reasons, but if you ask about them i will say why, and keep my mind open to yall's advice.
Someone advised saying if this deck is multiple or 1v1 ... I think it can be for both. I'll let yall vote.
Not towards you. My personal opinion of what i think hurts the game is people trying to ban things, and complaining about things being broken. It hurts creativity. Will you lose lots of games to some strategies? Yes! Should you moan about it ... no! There is different play groups for different people. This is a strategy game if you don't like mana ramps figure out how to stop them, don't like tutors stop them. Thats what control cards are for.
Again just my opinion for what its worth. I am super competitive and if things get watered down i can't be the better version of me i possibly can at the game. In this game just like my jiujitsu, and everything i do...
This is a new deck i am making. Jist of it is to make saprolings, and sacrifice them. Allowing me to draw cards and if i have Altar of the brood they will mill and Blood artist They will lose life when i sacrifice. There is also a few more drain life cards. These are the main cards of the deck.
3) I choose Blood artist as my target and every creature but him is destroyed, 33 creatures are killed opponent that attacked me has 34 so he is down to 1.
4) I pass turn, one guy realizes he missed a creature card and forgot to put it into the graveyard, and spoke up. (the 1 point needed to kill the opponent ha)
Question: Does this still get destroyed even though i passed turn?
There were 6 players things are hard to keep up with.
