Here's my favorite. Hard to tell because I used my scanner, but it's also foil.

I'm actually happy with Shards for one reason:

I skipped out on most of Lorwyn and Shadowmoor block. I have a pretty big list of cards I need, and luckily for me, this set didn't really contribute to that list. XD

I don't know, I just wasn't a big fan of this set. I didn't like the 5 or higher power theme and I felt like a lot of the cards didn't do enough for their cost (Maybe I've just been spoiled by Ravnica, Lorwyn and Shadowmoor blocks).

I have a question about Broken Ambitions. Maybe someone can clear this up for me. Why does everyone like it in this deck? I mean, You pay 1U to counter a spell unless they pay 1. If you want to make them pay more, you're paying 2U at the very least. But by that point, you might as well just play Cancel for a guaranteed counter.

Shards seemed a lot slower than I expected. Maybe fairies won't be bad afterall.

Ooze Garden was just spoiled by Mr. Cobalt Plasma.

    Ooze Garden

1:symg:, Sacrifice a non-Ooze creature: Put an X/X green Ooze creature token into play, where X is the sacrificed creature's power. Play this ability only any time you could play a sorcery.

Jund has little necromancy. Instead, the flesh of its dead gives rise to algal fiends.

I'm a big fan of the G/R planeswalker and...um...some of the Esper cards. I also kind of like the Charms and a few of the uncommons like the Ambush cats and the Rhox monk. That's about it...

I have to say that apart from a few cards (mostly uncommons), I'm kind of disappointed with this set so far. The only big card that really stands out for me is the G/R Planeswalker. I was also a little disappointed that Invincible Hymn says "your life total becomes" instead of "You gain life equal to". But still, awesome to see so many cards.

Riddle me this - how is pendalhaven so playable now, but unplayable after rotation?

It's not. That card will stay. Now, after playing with said manabase above. (-2 swamp + 2 RoT) I know that the draw you just described happens very very rarely. And even then, one colored source turns your whole deck on.

As for Ponder - We play ancestral vision now which is much stronger than ponder, and most faerie builds run that amount or less of turn 1 blue sources.

Pendalhaven will be unplayable after rotation because it's in Time Spiral, which is rotating out. o.o

Back to the Stoneybrook Banneret + Sage's Dousing. Is it really worth it to run copies of a card that otherwise doesn't really help the deck just to get a Mana Leak? It seems interesting but I can't even begin to think abot what I'd remove to put said cards in.

Anyone considered Familiar's Ruse? I know it's cost gives you a -1, but couldn't you just choose to return a BB token (Not sure on the rullings about returning tokens as a cost)? And it could let you reuse things like Mistbind Clique, Spellstrutter Sprite, Vendilion Clique and Pestermite (At the cost of slowing down your aggression, of course). I could see it being fun, though. Flash in Pestermite, tap a potential attacker, then Champion the Pestermite with Mistbind Clique. Next turn, counter their spell with Familiar's Ruse, return Mistbind Clique, Pestermite comes back into play, taps potential attacker (or untaps your land to set up another counter or whatever), and you have Mistbind ready to tap out their lands again next turn. I dunno, I could be crazy. I'm very sleepy right now. XD

Hm, Jace sounds interesting, but how well would he actually work? To keep his loyalty up, you'll have to give your opponent CA too. I wish U/B had some better removal. It's all "Destroy target nonblack/nonartifact creature". Some of the biggest threats out there are immune to black or they're black themselves, and artifacts will be big with Alara. I'm not fond of counterspells because everyone here loves Vexing Shusher.

Hm, is this deck still viable and will it be after rotation? I pictured it running stuff like Firespout, which would give you card draw and help sweep the board, but I admit that I don't know much about this deck. I just thought it was neat and I have an opportunity to pick up a set of Swans, so I was wondering if it was a good or bad idea to.

What do fairies do when Ancestral Vision rotates out? Could Ponder be a good choice? I'm looking for something that I can go ahead and add in place since I don't have any Visions and I don't see a point in wasting the money on them when they'll be rotating soon.

Nice. Something to help against Demigod, too.

I am picking up Fire-lit Thickets. Sarkhan's ability is just aldsjfkajgajdsgkljasgkl. How is that even possible? XD

Alright, that makes sense. I always liked Prowler because it's a cheap beatstick with evasion, and I like it when opponent's are silly enough to ditch cards just to reduce the damage.

I still would like to know what the primary function of Vendilion Clique is, though.

And for my final newbish question (Because I really want to learn how to play this deck well): Why is Bottled Gnomes such a popular sideboard choice? I see that it could potentially stall small attackers and provide a little life boost, but aren't their better choices or?
