I'm trying to gauge peoples thoughts. I have a pretty deep collection, but I would really enjoy playing with time twister. I can't quite afford an unlimited copy unless I liquidate a bunch of stuff.
My question is,what is your reaction to collectors edition cards in commander?
They are printed by wotc, but they are not tournament legal.
She could still lead a brawl deck, but besides that, there is no end to bg legends you could use as your commander, including many that are actually golgari. All that said, there will most likely be a rare legend for the guild in the set.
So I seem to be in the target market for these cards. Low print run, alternate art/frame, foil, and planeswalker on top of all that. (I collect walkers)
I would have much rather preferred these to be in booster packs as there would be a ton on the secondery market and picking them up wouldnt be a headache, just costly.
I look at these much like the sdcc walkers, hard to get at cost, easy to pick up off the secondery market. You just have to pay the inflation.
If i'm lucky enough to score this from the hasbro site I will end up saving somewhere between 100-200 bucks from buying them on the secondery market, and i get 24 packs on top of it.
I like it. I like the distribution, I just would like the print run to be large enough that these dont sell out in minutes. Hours or days would be preferable.
You should! While my Kari Zev is clocked @ $778 (thanks, Warrior's Oath replacing Final Fortune), you could easily buy into the deck for under $200. Probably under $80 if you don't care about cavern/fetchx4/port/wasteland. That's a great deal for a tier 1 deck I think.
I'm so probably not gonna foil out another deck, the rest of my bling is Kaalia/Alesha and it's far, far too rich for me. He says, after having bought a moat/grim/ravages/recruiter.
Realistically, I'm probably some local interest away from giving the format a shot. I'm not big on the online options and I don't know of anyone playing it around here.
@whiffy penguin, masterpieces aren't really my thing and that is a great looking deck regardless. I've got a soft spot for anyone playing Humility. Are the duals altered, FBB, black bordered inner sleeves, or something else entirely? It's tough to make out fine details in your pictures.
Weebo, they are black bordered perfect fits. Forign black border duals would have been affordable instead of revised, but I dislike forign language cards, and I cant afford beta duals.
Also iknow its hard to tell from the pictures but there are 13 non foils in my deck. 10 duals, Humility, Jokulhaups, and Monu blue Teferi.

Here is my pimped out Super Friends deck, been building this since 2012, been pimping since 2013 ha ha. I recently broke my foils only rule, because I wanted to get it up over 10k USD. Turns out putting in 10 revised duals will help.

Obviously aluren and curio are amazing and thats the real end game for me if i havent been smashing people to death with 2 mana 5/5's.
The really strong peices are opposition and static orb. The two are fantastic both together and seperate. Ive also been super impressed with reconnasence. It allows you to just attack with everything every turn avoid bad combat math, and tricks. and on top of that the way the card works and the way the turns are segmented. you can untap all your guys after damage, but still in the combat step, giving you vigilance!
also I have got down to a lean 23 defenders. And I havent been having many issues having them when i need them. so I think you can cut down alittle to find room for other things.
My hardest cuts were making enough blue cards to support force of will.

Just wanted to say I dont think any of the m19 walkers are good in here, Tezz seems ok, but it's just short of being a worth while inclusion, I think the same of the commander 18 walkers. At least for my build they seem lack luster.
Ive been testing a bunch of dom stuff, and as others have stated, oath of teferi is nutty. It's almost like having 2 doubling seasons. Primeavels Glorious Rebirth as also been real good. Often getting the table to scoop on resolution late game.
My deck May be a little bit different then others though.
