I was worried that since I've based a lot of my card choices around your cube and the input you give to this community, that the increase to 630 would make it too difficult to compare and contrast future card inclusions due to the difference in needs for your new 630 cube to my 540 list. But, you happened to add a ton of cards that I run in my 540! It's nice to know that when you do add a card later that I can still consider your thoughts on how it impacts your environment to help me decide from my own since there is still be a great deal of similarity.
I was wondering, with the new support to "lands in the yard", did you consider Gitrog monster at all, or maybe even Titania? (I run both, and was super excited to see the new Ren and Six, Vista, and horizons lands. (I also see you added deathrite, Fastbond, and Zuran orb, which are the main reasons I'm asking)
TL;DR
I like your cube, I like Gitrog, and I like a lot of these choices
This guy would make a hell of a commander as well. Definitely going to cube him- easily my favorite character from magic. I hope they do some more references towards the brothers war. Loving this set, but its gonna break my bank
Also, I love attaching additional bits of removal to my sacrifice effects that also draw me a card for no mana. Waaaat
My planeswalker selection is fairly high and I do try to support the artifacts deck so I'm already liking this. Funny enough, the most common artifact deck we get is at the very least UR, and occassionally grixis-both of which have become super friends heavy.
It also gives a solid threat against the more aggressive wildfire match ups, by having pro red and the ability to knock out artifsct ramp/sarkhan while attacking the face.
I think this is a very effective pairing of protections and abilities.
Bringing in that multidraw hate! I was going to ask if you thought Narset's potential to pseudo-impulse twice was enough reason to try her out over classic impulse, but then I noticed the Leovald. Are you testing for that passive abilities relevance, or is additional draw more common than not in your drafts? I'm also a little sad to see dovin go- but I'm also not seeing a lot of people draft him from my own cube. I thought he was great for my opposition and/or tempo decks, but I'm pretty much the only one in my group who did that.
I like the tutor, but the reanimation is kind of limited for my own cube. Can be nice for things like tangle wire and has funny interactions with powder keg and friends. But I'm not sure if the reanimation is going to be consistent enough? Returning a countered sword/jitte, and having another way to shut off winter orb for your turn a nice.
Maybe I'm just not seeing it or I'm under valuing the reanimation cause I'm not powered, or just blind. black lotus over and over would be sweet.
I feel that classic deranged still has a slight edge over this by having the option to be permanent rather than temporarily permanent, and goes to the yard sooner so that I can recur it faster. While this one gives you more turns for set up, I actually kind of like OG dying the following turn for my reanimation spells to immediately snag it up again. However, paying 5 and having enough power on board for the few turns it should take, you to kill an opponent is still worth strong consideration. However, I'm shopping around in the "is it overkill to just run both" department
I like that its a zombie... Good ol gravecrawler combo
But really tho, I like casting mulldrifter for 5, so I'm fine with a 5 drop monstrosity consuming a few things to draw cards at that cost. Also, if you have a sac outlet on board (which happens from time to time when playing black) you can sac Bontu in response to its own ETB and draw bontu off of its ability, which I think is super neat. Put things in the yard, draw some cards. Do it again a few turns later when you need more cards?
Side note- Id love to drop bontu out while I control the gitrog monster and just draw a million cards (hell, id tooth and nail for the both of them )
My group stopped playing kiki combo, so a red 5 just opened up for me (thank goodness, cause I was tired of working around it). I feel like if you are having success with Feldon of the Third Path, than this will likely be just as good... even with recognizing that the feldon comparison is a difference of whipping out a threat on turn 6 instead of turn 4(something that I think is this pigs only downside).
Plus! Having a 5 drop 6/6 trampler that can come back every few turns is the floor, that seems good
I can see this working very well if you run stuff like the vivids, Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, or even stuff like Rishkar, Peema Renegade. Gonna be sweeeeet in edh tho
I like it, but I don't think I need another 1 drop, I'm honestly pretty packed as it is at that converted mana cost and type. At the very least, i'm probably gonna look at it for my peasant cube project, but I actually like the 2/1s for 1, greater gargadon, and goblin welder much more for my main cube.
I do agree that the typings make a great arguement for it tho
I'm thinking about dropping garrison cause... Meld text, but mostly because krenko can survive more attacks than garrison and he also adds to rabblemaster by providing more attacking goblins, unlike the attacking humans
But not quite enough to get there. If it was only an instant

Great timing for my cube
