I highly suggest the PlayEDH discord. It allows you to Play EDH over the internet via Webcam (paper Magic) and the Discord is broken up into different power levels to ensure you get a good game.
On top of that the Discord is a great community of people.
I can't read his articles anymore, there just seems to be a form of Elististism that really urks me. Maybe that's the wrong word but it's how it comes off.
The most important thing you need to do when sitting down for a game of EDH with either your existing group or a new one is discuss power level. I learned this the hard way when I spiked and built decks like Doomsday Zur, Chain Veil Teferi and Breakfast Hulk. My play group was a bit upset with them so I put those decks away and play more toned down stuff (I rarely get to play my cEDH decks these days because my cEDH group went in other directions).
This is not to say I don't play combo decks or tuned decks as all of my decks are in the 75% range but so is the rest of my group and we have fun interactive games because of it.
Also you have to play interaction and answers in your deck. Counterspells, removal for various permanents, graveyard hate, etc. Something can usually be dealt with on the stack or when it hits the board (outside of an PW emblem).
Nice turnout! How has your deck been overall? Have you been able to test/play with it much?
I've been playing some version of the deck for the past year. However the newest version has been the most fun/consistent.
I usually get at least 2-3 games a week with it as it's one of my favorite decks but I've got so many decks that I usually switch it up fairly often.
Thanks, I made some of the suggested cuts/additions.
I kept Sorin Markov because I like his -3 especially being able to blink him with Aminatou.
Torment I had in as an infinite mana outlet with Teferi/Chain Vale and the rocks in the deck.
I kept in both Sun and Grave Titan as they are super powerful.
I made up labels for all my decks the other night and snapped this picture, I think I might have some sort of addiction
That's 24 EDH decks and 5 Legacy decks.
Anyone else as bad as me?
Problem? You're the kind of person I aspire to being. Please teach me your ways, Master.
LOL!
Sadly the time to get in to Legacy was always yesterday. My decks don't play dual lands (Just City of Traitors which has doubled in price since I bought them). A lot of the other stuff I had bought anyhow. I only own one of each dual land so I won't be buying anymore for a while.
Beyond that I will admit that I proxy and my play group(s) are fine with this since I own multiple copies of the cards (fetches, shocks, C-Rift, etc). I've lately started to do alternate art proxy cards to make my decks look more unique.
I'm gradually working up to the 32 set. I have 20ish built at the moment. I do use some proxies of cards I own & move cards between decks. I wouldn't recommend assembling so many decks, but the approach has its pleasures.
I enjoy building deck building and trying to find different ways of building decks in the same color. I've got several decks in the same color pairing and they are all a little bit different to be unique.
Having completed Brudiclad a few days ago, I am now at 63 active EDH decks, with several more at different stages of consideration or building. I have been spending some of my time off during the holidays updating and revising some of my older decks, as I periodically do, swapping in some cards from recent sets and this year's Commander product. Lots of Guilds of Ravnica cards finding homes, along with Rampaging Brontodon.
Wow!
My major fault is not revisiting old decks, something I try to do now.
I've got about 16 decks now that are ideas but might not all see the light of day.
Plan is to control the board through walkers and win via infinite combos (blinking the cat with Altar of the Brood or an Aristocrat out) or just out value everyone else.
I'm torn on what else to remove to get down to the Magic 100 cards.
I like having the two Eldrazi because there's been games where I drew one where it got stuck in my hand but didn't have to sweat it because of the other still being in the deck.
I've had Koz stuck in my hand but I can usually discard him some how (someone wheels, survival, etc).
I had him stuck in my hand one time, milling/dredging like crazy but managed to drop Craterhoof with a bunch of Zombie tokens on board to close out the game.
What I like about Hammer of Nazahn is that if I cast it after Grusilda, it can equip itself to her for free.
What have you been tinkering for her? There's just so many ways to have fun with Grusilda but since uncards were only legal for a couple of weeks a little over a year ago I want to try and make the deck tame enough to be able to play it in a casual setting, since I obviously can't go to tournaments or more serious settings with it. So when I refer to "tameness" I mean having an actual deck that works within the realm of possibility for Commander and avoiding any situations that aren't cleared up by Oracle, Maro himself, or any official rules person at WotC.
I haven't done too much tinkering with her yet. I've got about 10 deck ideas floating around with Grusilda being one of them. I'll get the list finalized and post it later on today.
The thing with Mizzix is that since she's so fragile it's hard to rely on her for long. For that reason most people who run her try to abuse her on that turn, or maybe the next one if they have a counter. Then they combo out with AEtherflux Reservoir / Sentinel Tower, Grapeshot or some Firemind's Foresight combo to burn everyone, or Temporal Fissure to be the only player with a board.
If you want Mizzix to hold out longer you won't be able to rely solely on counterspells. You'll need equipment to give her shroud or indestructible, the most efficient being Lightning Greaves and Darksteel Plate. Even then it will be relatively easy to get gunned down because of how reliant on your Commander you are.
Any particular play style you'd like to go for with this deck?
I'll echo this since it's 100% true.
My Mizzix deck runs Lightning Greaves and Darksteel Plate to protect her and keep her on board.

Usually but it's still a good card to get mana/discard off of. Discard a land with the Frog out and get 1 black mana and a draw.

I personally think having 2 Eldrazi Titans is a bit too much, there's times I hit one too often.
I'd cut the Hammer of Nazahn for Illusionist's Bracers.
