If you wanted a non control list, I think there's a deck to be made around the new small angle, Serra's avrnger, illusory angel and the new angels matters gain life cleric and resplendent angel and either going vial and anthems or Coco and a little ramp.
I'm sure you could, but i found that Naya is the fastest and most competitive combination.
Any reason why you want to use blue?
Don't really think any version of Angels is "competitive". But that is neither here or nor there.
Just wanted to explore UW if it was available but most folks believe that should be a pure control deck.
or would have to build with geist of saint traft
or Bruna, Light of Alabaster and that is a commander card if anything. So yea no really solid options, there was an old delver angel deck but don't think anyone touches that anymore.
@doc.brown I just don't see wildborn preserver working unless out of the sideboard. It doesn't draw us cards, or anthem our board, it just makes us go tall which OP just answers with targeted removal. Anthem effects make up the large difference in power that trying to go tall with a single elf would do. It's the reason why you don't see SLC or GCG in these decks.
"In Brawl which is only Standard-legal, this is not the case, having cards like Karn as a Commander there are not enough utility lands in the format to fill up the slots. Now Wizards have solved this by giving you the option to use normal basic lands when using a colorless Commander in Brawl, but only one type. This means that you select a basic land type like Mountain and put them in the deck, but you can not mix the basic land types. You need to keep it to that one type you chose."
In my opinion, this is the better token generator, as Knight cards can be cast for as little as 1 mana, whereas we have very few (if any) multicolored cards that cost that.
Well, hero makes value out mostly from non creature cards. This one makes value off creatures and other copies of it. Diferent uses, hero is mostly played in control-tempo ish decks.
Naya and Jeskai Hero do exist...
Technically you can make Selesnya Hero as well and it basically ends up a tokens deck.
let's talk brawl mana bases.
Brawl we run into slight limitations due to singleton.
So I am going to take Frank Karsten's ideas and apply them to Brawl:
60 card mana base singleton
*using 89-90% consistency for Source count. Karsten uses numbers that guarantee 91-95% and I reduce the guarantee due to free mulligan/london mulligan and bias.
60 cards, really should be 59 due to commander.
So if you want to get llanowar elves on turn 1 you want to have 13 sources. Ideally those should be untapped. I believe Karsten also wrote an article about untapped sources but I could not find it.
Got that out of the way.
Mana fixing refers to the process of ensuring that the correct lands or sources of mana are played in order to be used for the cards in one's hand.
Decks can operate at 22 - 27 lands. Karsten factors in scry to count as a fraction. I will not be taking scrying into consideration.
It get's a little tough to work out a 3 color base as we end up with way less sources. Obviously can swap taps with shocklands that come in untapped but ultimately brawl is a longer game.
Example 5 Color Mana base for Niv-Mizzet Reborn
Niv only needs 9 sources of 1 color
Mana Base
25 lands roughly 10 sources of each color
With Brawl on the one, there are some people at work who were interested in MTG. I was considering commander or brawl for casual multiplayer. I mainly play 1v1 standard.
Which one would make more sense?
Brawl has less cards easier to shuffle
and have to worry about rotation.
Commander
Have to deal with 100 cards
No rotation though.
What results? What results you on about? Some results that are 3 years old? Alright old man...
Something to think about...
side topic is a devotion deck possible going in a stompy direction? I also saw in the primer some elves builds are those still possible?

nyx lotus
nissa, who shakes the world
nylea keen-eyed
nylea's intervention
once upon a time
veil of summer
There are probably plenty more but primer could probably use an update
if anything I'm wondering if Once upon a time makes this deck.
Pulled this from aetherhub

There are lands that count as full source. Some Artifacts / Enchantments can do this as well. On top of that some creatures can fetch a land too.
Gateway Plaza
Evolving Wilds
New Horizons
District Guide
Mana Geode
Half Source creatures that tap to produce mana are counted half a source
llanowar elves
Can Trips / Card draw. These can be considered a quarter of a source.

Anyways would this be cool in tokens?
What do you mean?
Steel Leaf Champion is a knight...or you mean first monoG in this set?

Have to deal with 100 cards
