Forget the box-floppers, I just want a reasonably priced entry point for a playset of Noble Hierarch. Here's to hoping this set gets opened into oblivion (relatively speaking) and we actually get some much needed reprints at realistic prices.
My first love is paper magic but I barely get the opportunity to play IRL anymore. The only value I would ever assign to digital cards is the ability to play whenever I want. For a lot of people like me, that's definitely worth something. Not interested in standard, be it paper or arena, so MTGO is looking more and more appealing, especially with prices being down right now. Nothing will ever replace cardboard crack for me though, I get just as much pleasure out of building decks and adding cards to my collection as I do actually playing the game, value be damned!
Could probably shave a lone forest to make room for another threat or pump spell. Other than that, looks good. Aspect of hydra gives a lot of extra reach and I went back up to 4 after playing 3 for a while. Scooze is also so damn good in grindy matches that I want a 3rd to swap in from the sideboard.
Id go down to 21 land and do something along those lines.
Lol at the self-published 4pt novel. Glad to see a new system being put in place, WotC needs to keep it up, theyre just so easy to hate on these days!
Now if we can just get those modern-only boosters...
Everyone mentions the players who will "lose their minds" when their collection value takes a dip due to reprints but I just don't see these people anywhere. I would argue that players almost unanimously want cheaper card prices. If a couple of sweaty, grease-fingered neck beards get bent out of shape, so be it. At this point, wotc's managment of all things mtg has become such an awkward meme that they should just do the opposite of whatever they would normally do and I'm sure it will be in everyone's best interest.
Keep the shocks, sell the others. Ill be working on getting atleast pairs of each shock that I dont already have once the market is flooded to field capacity. Id sell into the hype and impatient demand now.
Thanks for the reply, I should have specified, Im building the UW version. I'll grab some Hallowed Fountains for sure but I have a feeling we'll be seeing another cycle of fastlands sooner than later so I'm gona wait on the seachrome coasts.
If you guys had to build a budget mana base for this deck, how would you go about it? Im putting the pieces together and want to have something playable while I work on upgrading and optimizing the land. I have 3 caverns, 1 flooded strand, 1 polluted delta, 4 windswept heath and 2 Moorland haunt. Should I round the land count out with some basics and a nimbus maze or try and get a couple shocks? Or is Mutavault pretty essential to the deck? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
