    Spell Pierce.
    Shock.
    Petramander.
    Lavarunner.
    Chemister's Insight.
    Opt.

Why are these cards ALWAYS in hand early game, usually in multiples of 3? Every game. Every game against a drake deck there's a Spell Pierce cast in the first turns. Every game against RDW Lavarunner drops right away. I dont see aggressive mulliganing. It's almost like certain cards are coded to show up at certain points in a match.

Issue is, I have no valid proof to show Wizards to supplement my reporting, unless I record every match (if I knew of a good software I would) and with the amount of times I come up against stalling, I would be constantly be having to post/send to Wizards..

It's fine. It was already confirmed that they dont take ANY action on the reports we send them anyway. Stalling and toxic behavior is something they arent doing anything to stop (unless it impacts some pencilneck streamer.)

The new standard meta is now SO EXPENSIVE, I don't see how anyone can keep up with it as a F2P player unless all they want to play is RDW. The amount of Rare and Mythic cards needed in every meta deck is insane - 30-40 Rares, 10-15 Mythics. I know WOTC is really pushing this game to get more players, what with the big moron streamer tournament and all, but I can't see how ANY new players, especially new to Magic completely, would be sticking around to play this. It is so astronomically expensive just to update previous meta decks to the new meta - imagine starting from scratch,

The endless grind against red decks.
Mana issues deciding half the games.
Wizards completely decimating the rewards for Constructed Event.
    Lack of WCs.
    Weak Vault progress system.
Broken cards (Wilderness Reclamation, Nexus of Fate)
    High cost of event entry.

I think until they decide they want this game to succeed and actually make positive changes to Arena, there's no reason to spend money on this product. I can't envision the last time I had a "fun" match in Arena, but I still have fun whenever I play IRL Magic. It's hard to make Hearthstone look generous, but the stinginess of WOTC seems to know no limits and their inability to view Arena as a different game from IRL Standard is a huge hindrance.

once the Ranked Ladder becomes Bo3 instead of Bo1 (end of this season) the Arena Ladder will almost certainly match the Paper meta.

It won`t become bo3 instead, there will be both, so the bo1 specific meta won't just go away. We'll have the option to avoid it while still playing ranked though, since bo3 ladder should be pretty close to paper meta-wise.
Of course if you're absoluteley sick of the bo1 meta, you could just play traditional anyway, it's not like the ladder offers great rewards, so not much reason to bother with it if you don't enjoy it.

Yeah, I've actually stopped. I did think Bo3 was replacing Bo1 on the ladder, if not, I wonder what that will do to the player base. I do believe Bo1 has proven itself flawed.

Here's what's going to happen when they have a Bo3 ranked mode:
-Aggro players will all play Bo1
-Control players will all play Bo3.

IMO this makes the Arena meta even WORSE (and its pretty awful already). What Wizards needs to do is look at Arena like a separate property from normal Magic and adjust Arena differently. Maybe this means they ban Nexus of Fate in Arena. Maybe they toss the land draw algorithm so all the burn decks cant safely run 16 lands. I dunno. Treat this game like they should instead of letting it fester.

I get rolled by Merfolk and Burn mostly. Merfolk less so since I lucked into getting Kaya's Wrath and Settle...but oh god if I don't have kill spells Burn just rolls me. Granted I don't spend money.

Burn is so totally out of control it feels more busted than it ever has. Spectacle is such a stupid design to give to nearly all the new red cards. "hey uh lets give red the ability to cast cards for 1 mana. 3 damage for 1 mana. draw two for 1 mana." Retarded beyond belief.

Red has been given several of these "Exile the top of your library, you can play it as if it was in your hand" cards before - very few of them have seen play because it's pretty hard to both have the mana to play the spell, AND have the mana to play whatever you flip. Light up the stage is seeing play because you don't have to play the cards the same turn you cast LutS - which makes it powerful sure, but it also telegraphs your plays to the opponent.

SCG Indianapolis showed us that there is definitely more to this format than mono-red burn. Sultai midrange (Golgari mid splashing blue for Hydroid Krasis) and Esper control (using 0 nexus of fate) were the big headliners. Mono-red didn't put a deck into top8 of either the Open or the classic, and between the two events only had 3 in the top16. It's definitely a deck, but it's hardly a meta killer if you know what you're doing.

What decks they played at some tournament means absolutely nothing. The Arena meta is totally different.

Hmm, I guess I have a hard time crossing over to the digital cards. I still spend money on physical cards (usually draft once or twice a month and mess around with modern and commander) but can't convince myself to put money into Arena, even though I do end up laying it probably more than physical Magic...

How is it so many of my opponents already have massive amounts of Rare and Mythic cards from the latest expansion? Without the option to dust cards, are people really spending $50+ on each expansion on Arena? I feel like I'm the only person playing who isn't dumping tons of cash into this game. I've bought the welcome bundle, but that's it. But everyone I play seems to have all the shocklands, 4 copies of each Mythic and Rare in their deck and some of the popular decks that include the newest expansion are super expensive with like 38 rares and 14 mythics. Guess I'm just surprised to see so many people spend a lot on this game.

100% its the reason I always return to blue.

I do too, still I just finished a game where I got Search for Azcanta out turn two, surveiled for two turns, tossing everything. had a graveyard of 10 cards and still didnt get to my third land. My opponent got out three rekindling phoenixes though. Just your normal card distribution.

I get this feeling there is always going to be a complaint about mono-red...

Well Wizards pushed red into sickening power levels. I mean it's virtually unbeatable. They can defeat you on turn 4 for godssake. How does any deck compete against it? Nothing has been able to for like 4 standard rotations (probably more). They really need to tone it back, yet every release they just pump out more bolts. "Hmmm what does Red need? how about a 3 damage bolt for 1 mana? OK. sure why not"

At Platinum and all you are seeing is Nexus and Burn??? Thats crazy, I see plenty of other decks.

What are you playing? I wonder sometimes if our own decks dont alter the match making even on Ladder. I'm at Gold 1.

I've wondered that too, because I've had situations where I see all of one type of deck, then I switch decks to counter it and I never see it again. I'm playing (or was playing, but now I need a new deck because it's not working anymore) a Grixis u/r/b deck

I'm going to guess everyone is talking about best of 1 ranked? I've been doing best of 1 constructed events, over 200 games over the last 2 days, and have only encountered single digit nexus numbers. The most common deck I've encountered is mono red burn. Making up more than a third of the games I play.

Anyone else play anything other than best of 1 ranked? What are you seeing?

Oh man yes constructed is all burn. That also sucks. I'm in Platinum Ranked and it's literally all Nexus and burn. I mean I don't see Izzet Drakes non-stop anymore, which is what ranked used to be, but the cure is worse than the disease.

You guys are low rank ya? I dont mean that as a dig, but its the same in any game community I've been in with a ladder. The lower you go, the more toxic it gets.

Platinum rank actually. It doesnt change in Magic. I can get in like two games an hour, because for every one reasonably paced game you get some guy who wants to spend the rest of his life in one match.

Im seeing more mono red and white weenies compared to Nexus. Still hate Nexus of Fate tough.

Man I have not seen another deck besides mono red and Nexus since the new expansion dropped. I hate what this game has become. They're both just such ugly, unfun ways to win a game.
