Truth be told, I have not really experimented a lot with the local meta. I've messed around with Precons at this point and watched a few episodes of Game Knights. I have very, very little experience with the format, so perhaps I should actually feel it out before making that call. I know that I do have a spare Brainstorm, though, so perhaps I should slot it in.
Had a spare Polukranos and Novijen Sages lying around, so they swapped in for Burn From Within and Sleight of Hand. Rolling Thunder was swapped out for a Nessian Wilds Ravager for the time being. What do you think of Hangarback Walker?
First time actually trying to make a decent Commander deck. Obviously, going to be very, very janky, but what do you guys think? There are a few obvious holes in the mana base, but aside from that, what else can be improved? It wants to bulldoze the table with buffed up creatures, or sneak a win with Simic Ascendancy if possible.
Personally, I like the Lorwyn basics, then There's, then Kaladesh. I think the Guild Kit Lands are overall pretty sweet, but half the appeal is the special border. While some, such as the Izzet island, Boros Plains, and both Simic lands have fantastic art, I feel that the others would not be as special if not for the special borders.
And, of course, if it's been in an Un-set, it's basically amazing.
Putting together a casual Slivers deck. I need to know how many Shock lands and Check lands I should have in addition to basics. Decklist is not final, but looks a little something like this:
I'm collecting the Guild Kits as I can afford them for the purpose of assembling a battle box. Pretty sure I'm going to be sleeving them up in the Ultra-Pro sleeves with the correct Guild Symbols, but as far as storage goes, I'm not sure what I want to do. I definitely want one or two large boxes capable of containing all ten decks, plus the spindowns and potentially the decklists. Not certain if I want to go with Ultimate Guard Boulders for the individual decks, or the Ultra Pro boxes associated with each Guild. Not looking for custom boxes like Aaron Cain, as collecting all the decks and sleeves is going to be rather expensive to begin with. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much! I'll take a crack at building this. Ten Mountains, eight Plains sound about correct for Basics?
Also, because I'm a complete noob, I'm somewhat curious. The original idea I'd had was Enchantments just in case I was stalled out to the point where, for instance, a Selesnya player started Convoking out their bombs. Is that an inefficient use of Mana, given that it could just as easily go to more attackers? Part of that question is because Swiftblade Vindicator is on the list, and most sources I've seen recommend buffing him before he attacks the first time. Is the board wipe aspect of Deafening Clarion strictly worse than Lightning Strike's single-target effect, or is it because it costs more?
Not trying to second-guess you. I like the decklist. But in the future, I do want to be able to do this on my own without help, so a breakdown of the choice of cards would help me a lot.
Mostly bulk. I've got a playset of Deafening Clarion and Sacred Foundry. I've got one Legion Warboss from pre-release that is not presently in-use. The rest, as mentioned, is bulk- Boros Challengers, Legion Guildmages, Skyknight Legionaires, Parhelion Patrols, Truefire Captains, Hammer Droppers, Candlelight Vigils, Justice Strikes, Boros Lockets, and Maniacal Rages.
Expanding the deck I used at pre-release into something I can play in Standard. The deck runs almost entirely multicolored creatures- Boros Challenger, Legion Guildmage, Truefire Captain, Skyknight Legionaire, Hammer Dropper- basically, there are no mono-color creatures except Parhelion Patrol. My removal options are all multicolor, as well. The only cards that are not are Candlelight Vigil and Maniacal Rage. I'm thinking of swapping Maniacal Rage for Dub, as Dub seems to be an objectively better card, however it's slower, and would shift the Mana base away from a sort-of even split to more White than Red. I do have Lockets and Foundries, but would switching to Dub break the deck? I can post a decklist later, if that would help.
