Playing Llanowar elves could mean that Mentor of the Meek is a lot more playable/abusable - which is a place where this deck falls short i.e. drawing cards, or even more plainly - being able to recover from mass removal like you said yourself. To be fair though, Llanowar elves does not make Benalish Marshal easier to cast, which is why I would consider cutting it for Mentor of the Meeks - but I guess it depends on how much point removal you're expecting to see vs how many bigger creatures you're expecting your opponent to slam.
The other card that I would consider is Tragic poet - in a meta where enchantment removal is prevalent, this card shines. This is especially the case where Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants offers the opportunity for a repeatable source of enchantment recursion.
