If this was less then or equal to it would be strong but

    turn 2 cast this
    turn 3 drop a free 3 mana spell - cast a 3 mana spell
turn 4 drop a free 4 mana spell etc etc

it requires a very specific curve to be decent if you dont have multiple 3 mana spells or 4 mana spells etc to be able to multi spell its just sort of meh

No, it's turn 2 drop this. Then turn 3 drop a free 1 mana spell (not 3 mana), then turn 4 drop a free 2 mana spell.

Once again some people don't properly read the card.

It only triggers if things your OPPONENTS control that die. Making it much more difficult to work with.

There’s 2 white partners low enough with Miara that you can run lurrus as the companion

oh look at the art of elvish doomsayer it’s a reverse role of elvish visionary

Commanders don't count towards partner requirements. They aren't in your starting deck

Edit :my apologies. Oracle says otherwise. damn partners are a rules mess.

This is a very good card. But it's not as crazy as some of the hype leads you to believe. In practice it will push some decks over the edge and be merely ok in others.

Who said the original leaker was a retailer who got product early? I very much doubt that's true, especially since WotC isn't sending product directly to anyone anymore. It's all done through distributors now.

If someone was actually sent legit product early, that's a lot more serious than someone leaking info.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know any stores that actually receive the product early. We have to pick up new releases a few days prior to Prerelease / release. We've never had to hold on to product for weeks and wait, that's the distributor's job.

Also, our 'preview card'is an email during the spoilers. Nothing is ahead of time for us.

Sounds fun!! I think if they put enough resources into it, this could be awesome... if they rushed through it to make a cash grab... can be quite the dumpster fire ...

If this spoiler is accurate then there's lots of time between now and then. Doesn't seem rushed.

Dies to wrath is a terrible criticism. This is a great card.

A sorcery speed Consume the Meek that exiles and hits planeswalkers. I'd like to say that's strictly better, but I guess instant does matter.

It's different, not strictly anything. Don't misuse the term "strictly better".

In some environments this is better, in other environments Consume the Meek is better. That means they're not strictly better or worse than each other.

I swear so many people in this forum use the term strictly way too often.

People who don't understand the terms "strictly worse" and "strictly better" should really stop using them.

The fact the other side is a land make this very different than other cards seen before. There are no comparisons.

Well not really worse. Different. If both players are on 10 life or less - which is a typical scenario - this thing can close the game.

And I am not convinced that people will stop playing a fetch land to not get hit by it. Too much mana fixing depends on these. I can see a delayed shock land play however.

So, what? Both players shock and you get a 2/2 with no evasion on turn 2?

If one person doesn't shock it does nothing on curve?

It can close out the game if both players are hurt. But a lot of things do that. What if only your opponent is hurt or what if only you are hurt?

If you're relying on kicker at 7 mana then you're knocking both players down to play a beater with no evasion.

I'm sorry the whole card seems a little subpar. It's just not as abusable as Death's Shadow and it's not reliable enough for most other decks.

At best there might be an archetype in standard it fits in. But I can't imagine what that would be.

It's NOT a Death's Shadow. It's worse. This relies on both players having low life totals. Death's Shadow only cares about your own. That's a pretty significant difference.

This thread just illustrates how so many people here are bad at reading cards.

To answer a question above, yes it shrinks if you give it lifelink. Unless you have less life than your opponents.

The picture bothers me. It doesn't look like it's in the cliff yet it's being held up somehow.

With that CMC I can 100% ensure nobody will ever use the land side on this unless in a really really big mana screw

Plus that trick at instant speed is incredible for a uncommon

Why is it incredible at uncommon, it's a common effect. Look at cards like Undying Evil, Supernatural Stamina, and Abnormal Endurance.

    Yeah the mana sticks around.

For reference it's the same wording as Omnath, Locus of Mana.

This seems like it could potentially be a red staple in edh. It's not hard to get value out of this. Also it very quickly fills your pool to the point where killing it with be lethal.
