Thank you both! Working on a Coalition Victory deck for Modern. I just need a reset condition for Ramos; the one of each land part should be a piece of cake. The mana calculation are off the chain lol
I have 2 Heartless Summoning, 1 Ramos, Dragon Engine, and 1 Transguild Courier in play. I cast Altered Ego so that I pay a total of 3 mana ([r][w][b]) on the [x] portion of its casting cost, and have it come in as a copy of Ramos. With both Heartless Summoning in play, does the Ramos, Dragon Engine already in play count the Altered Ego just cast as only 2 colors (disregarding the [w][r][b] used to pay the [x] portion of its casting cost, or 5 colors (counting the other colors mana paid for [x])? If it does count each color in the [x] portion, can the original Ramos then activate its mana ability before the "Legends rule" kicks in because of the Altered Ego? As just an aside, in the above scenario, the second Ramos should come in with 5 +1/+1 counters regardless, right?
Also, if I have the Ego enter play as a copy of the Courier and spend no mana on [x], does the Ego coming into play count as a 5 colored spell or just a 2 colored spell for the purpose of activating the original Ramos' ability?

I'm guessing Helm of the Host has a lot of infinite combo potential, on a scale of magnitude exponentially greater than Kiki. Be interesting to research...
