Are there any decent lists running around at the moment?
After seeing the spoiler in MH and that Goblins are on the meny I'd like to buy into an established list to get me started (Even if MH turns out to disapoint).
I see the first page hasn't been updated since 2016. Are the lists there still relevant?
I'm considering selling these two pieces i picked up around 12 years ago. Both were bought for around $150 back then. I'm after grading advice. I don't think they are fake, but obviously, if they are I'd like to know :).
I'm thinking that the Black Lotus is Near Mint and the Juzam Djinn Near Mint or at worst Excellent.
Some info: Juzam has some wear on the left hand side which you can see in the photo. It also has some minor blemishes on the back on the bottom border. These defects are easier to spot in the digital photo.
Black Lotus has some minor wear on the bottom left corner. The other corners are crisp and still hold their shape. On the back it has a white line stretching up from the "D" in Deckmaster. It's quite pronounced in the image, but one has to inspect that card extremely closely to notice it when holding it.
Ended up with a playset of Dovin's Veto and 2x Teferi, Time Raveler which slot into my Modern U/W Midrange deck which is nice.
The 1x Ilharg, the Raze-Boar is actually really awesome as I wanted to try him in my Modern Big Mana Green Devotion deck.
Having a look at the more stock lists I've decided to give Sedge Sliver a go.
I almost always looked away from that card as it puts even more pressure on the manabase and I felt compelled to run fetchlands (which i don't have).
Anyway, I decided to run one of the more stock lists and alter the manabase slightly.
I had to buy the sedge slivers, so I can't playtest until they arrive, but I think this could be fun to play. So looking forward to giving it a go.
I can understand and sympathize about the purchasing experience and being out of pocket for somewhere between 7 and 30 days as credit cards are reimbursed. However, anything apart from those two reasons are completely irrational.
At the end of the day, Wizards wanted to sell a collector's item in a limited quantity. They collaborated with one of the world's best e-commerce sites and the demand was just too high.
EBay has to learn a lesson and scale their infrastructure to meet demand in special cases like this.
At the moment I've got 5c Humans, GB Elves and Merfolk that I enjoy playing. So I've started having a look at slivers as they have always been one of the more interesting tribes in MTG.
I see most decks run Æther Vial and Collected Company. From playing a lot of 5c Humans i find Æther Vial is a seriously lousy card to not have in your opening hand. So I figured I'd try to build a slivers deck without it.
I only play paper and play only with a close nit group of friends. We don't play tournaments, but do spend some change on our decks, so the power level is quite high. Our "meta" isn't super diverse because of that. Here is what our Meta consists of (Yes, we all like tribal :D):
5c Humans
Martyr proc
UW Midrange/Control
Merfolk
Aggro Zombies
G/R Ramp Tooth and Nail
GB Elves
So the deck I've come up with so far is obviously just an aggro deck. I have Collected Company and Domri Rade to help draw cards and add speed as well as offer some removal. I've also got Domri, Anarch of Bolas in the sideboard. He can turn up the heat with his passive and offer some removal as well as help ramp uncounterable creatures.
Apart from beatdown, these cards offer an extended win condition: Bonescythe Sliver & Psionic Sliver. I'm thinking that Psionic Sliver could push me over the finish line in tight games.
The two Homing Sliver are really just tutors to find specific cards when needed, but these really are just part of the flex creatures which could be swapped out.
Manabase: it needs work. it's at best a placeholder, but not far off the mark.
Sideboard: Needs work, just put it together quickly as a rough guide for myself.
So here is a very early and rough draft of the deck.
I do hope those who had their orders processed, paid for, then cancelled get some kind of compensation from WotC (not just an Ebay gift card).
I was also one of the "Lucky ones". So grats on getting a confirmed box from Ebay. That's good news.
I think a $20 gift card is a massive compensation though. I honestly can't believe that people actually expect more than that. I wouldn't complain about a free box topper as well as a $20 gift card. But I wouldn't expect it.
I have a feeling that there were so many pending and cancelled orders that they were taking up "unsold" stock. So it looked like it was sold out, then order cancellations came in and freed up stock again.
Quite a few more cards to come. Crossing fingers we get a few really great tools. If we don't get anything decent we are seriously going to struggle!!

Otherwise a decent range of cards. Karn's Bastion, Karn, the Great Creator and Ugin, the Ineffable among others.
Foil jace will slot into the U/W Midrange deck to give it some bling.
Overall really happy

Broken hearts and that is about it.
Edit: Spelling
True.
No one has Blood Moon in their lists yet. But I still need basics for Path to Exile or Settle the Wreckage. Which are played quite a bit.

Yep, was about to write the same as you. It usually takes a few days to clear.
Those prices have to come down. If they stay or god forbid go up, i should have bought 2 :P.
Up to 32K crazy
Kind of makes sense.
