I'm of the opinion that promo and special arts should be reserved for those cards and not used on reprints.Drat another missed opportunity to do the promo out instead of the orginal for Doran
If someone got awarded for doing something special like attending an event, being a judge, etc, that reward should stay valuable - either monetarily or emotionally - due to its uniqueness. Reprint old art so that game pieces are widely available and let the art be one of the "collectability" niches. -

Simto posted a message on Prediction: Next Year D&D Honour Among Thieves SetPosted in: SpeculationQuote from TwinfrodoPhoenix »I just feel some in the community want it to fail because it's not within the magic universe.
It looked a million times more "Magic" to me than the last two standard sets to me. It felt very refreshing/nice/nostalgic to see more classic sword and sorcery style stuff on the cards than sci fi ninjas and 20's gangsters in suits. If the Universe Beyond cards just all are in that same fantasy setting or style, then I won't mind. It's just stuff like 40k (which I started collecting in '94, so it's not because I don't like Warhammer) that looks so out of place on Magic cards to me, but I don't want it to fail just because I don't like it. I just wish they wouldn't keep pushing to making it more modern in the settings/art. I think stuff like Dungeons & Dragons has been really cool and I definitely won't mind more sets like that. It looks very "magic" to me. -

Mergatroid_Jones posted a message on [SLD] April 2022 SuperdropWow, the last one is easily the best. Not a dud among them. It's about time they reprinted Goblin Settler. There's no reason that should be a costly card. Concordant Crossroads is also a fantastic reprint, and I'm surprised it wasn't on the reserve list. But that's the only worthwhile card in there.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
And yeah, those checklands are pretty pathetic. "So instead of a dragon skull in Dragonskull Summit, I was thinking colored lumps. And for Sunpetal Grove, I was thinking colored lumps instead of flowers. And nothing screams a Rootbound Crag like some colored lumps." -

You piss and moan when the cards aren’t expensive and you piss and moan when the cards are expensive. Every post you’ve made re: 2xm2 has been a complaint, and 90% of those have been copy/paste whining regardless of the card. You realize when you complain about every card you’re just white noise, right?
Maybe this game isn’t for you. I couldn’t imagine sitting down at a table against someone so toxically miserable.

$125 was the price, not the quantity.

so you made a comment that applied to all of ONE person here, I call you on it, then you say it applies to people across the entirety of the internet, I call you on THAT, and then you revert to the fact it applied to all of ONE person here.
What a clown.

As for milling, once a person has 8 or 9 lands in play, why would they ever choose to mill from anything but the land deck for as long as that’s possible?
Dumb.
2
Exactly one person commented on the power of this card prior to your comment. Who exactly are the “you all”?
2
so you can sneak it in in response to things like fetches?

That would literally break, BREAK, the Commander format. Color identity would be rendered near meaningless. Add any one color to any deck (while also giving a benefit to the Commander to boot)? C’mon, man.

For some products it wasn’t all that long ago. All I play is Commander, so I buy singles but I buy I’d estimate 80% of the Commander Precons. Precon prices:
2013: $29.95
2014: $34.95
2018: $39.95
2022: ~$45.00
For a 50% increase in price we get tokens, 2-3 foils per deck, and a useless life wheel. Meanwhile, the reprint equity languishes in the toilet.
