I learned so much from this place
Spent almost six months to read all of the "random cube card of the day thread", and it's the only website I open every day (at least during spoiler season).
I really hope people move to the new website. Will have to install Twitter, I guess
I know it's impossible to compare the cube environment with a pre-release, but the black finale was very strong and the feeling of turning the game around was very nice hahaha
Playing for x = 3 or 4 was able to completely turn the board around several times, or allowed some unexpected final attacks. 3-for-1 was always very strong.
As long as it's your turn, creatures and planeswalkers you control have lifelink.
[+2]: Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord deals 1 damage to target player or planeswalker.
[-X]: Return target creature card with converted mana cost X from your graveyard to the battlefield. That creature is a Vampire in additional to its other types.
Loyalty: |4|
After playing pre-release, I actually think this might slot in the place of Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, at least for testing.
The -X ability provides a lot of value, remembering Ashiok. It plays well with sacrifice decks as well, bringing bodies back.
The static ability for Lifelink can make a ton of difference in a deck with low curve that might have a ton of creatures already in board, and being able to go to 6 loyalty in at turn 4 makes him incredibly hard to kill.
Will add picture later, I'm right now in my phone.
I have played a fair amount of games as aggro where I missed the last 1-2 damage to win against control/mid-range and the board got estabilized. 4/4 flying trample causing 1 damage each turn could have done the job. I think the mini-vortex makes a difference and it's being disconsidered.

Imprint — Whenever a nontoken creature dies, you may exile that card. If you do, return each other card exiled with Mimic Vat to its owner's graveyard.
3, T: Create a token that's a copy of a card exiled with Mimic Vat. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.
Bonus Questions
1) [Rule Question] If the token is of a creature with persist, does it create the copy with the counter?
2) If you don't play mimic vat, what would need to change for you to play it? Converted mana cost? Cost of activation?
Since card draw is great in cube, I expected this card to not necessarily shine, but the fact that it can be discarded for advantage makes it great in some decks.
I have never played this and don't know if I'd add it. I wonder if it's easy to break symmetry - also, since I"d be playing green I'd probably want to run some mana dorks. Could fit in a UG control shell, though. Or in a wildfire shell.
I don't currently proxy anything in the cube, and don't want to start unless I'm adding a cycle of duals.
Bonus Questions
1) If you would add just this card to your cube, would it be easy to break symmetry?
2) If you just cannot find a card to buy to your cube, do you have issues with proxying?
Bonus Question
How do you value alternate win conditions in your cube? Would you include a card that is not the most powerful in its slot to add a new way of winning?
What I see with Ankh is that sometimes it holds the non-aggro player in a state that it can't really use the card advantage it has since it cannot deploy more lands, which gives more time to the aggro player to draw the last few damage. I like the tension this adds.
Definitely interesting to see how it differs from the opinions here : )
Some things I consider weird (that can probably be explained due popularity):
- Doom Blade but no Go For The Throat, Damnation, or Toxic Deluge;
- Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is in the list : )
- Splinter Twin is there but Kiki-Jikki is not;
- There's a signet(!?!) in the list;

It's summer here in Brazil, and it sure looks like there's two suns in the sky right now.

It's fun to try answer some questions raised by it. One I have: why is impulse, which is so generic, so low in the list?
It's not uncommon for the first token to be a 3/3 or 4/4.
